Tim Gunn has penned another book, but I might be picking up Gunn’s Golden Rules for more than the fashion tips. Mr. Project Runway spills behind-the-scenes stories about Vogue royalty Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley. I love me some Wintour, but Tim’s tales sound grossly over-the-top… even for her.
Gunn writes of the legendary Vogue editor:
“I was with a colleague from Parsons, and we had been discussing the will-she-or-won’t-she-take-the-elevator question, so we ran over to the elevator bay to see if Anna would deign to get on. She wasn’t there. Then we looked over the stairway railing. And what did we see but Anna being carried down the stairs. The bodyguards had made a fireman’s lock and were racing her from landing to landing. She was sitting on their crossed arms.
I ran to the window to see if they would put her down on the sidewalk or carry her to the car like that. They carried her to the car. And I thought: I will never for get this.”
And as for Talley:
“When we return to the green room, we see that someone has spread a translucent barber’s bib over Andre and he’s reclining, his arms at his sides. He’s being fed grapes and cubes of cheese one by one, like a bird in a nest.”

I refuse to believe my Tim ‘Make it work’ Gunn would lie. Therefore, this is absolutely hilarious!

I believe it. I mean, was’t The Devil Wears Prada “loosely” based on her?
I’m gonna have to pick it up; I love him !

Carried her? Seriously? CARRIED her? I’m sorry, but everything I’ve ever read about Anna Wintour leads me to draw the conclusion that she is a massive bitch of epic proportions. Even Oprah will do what she says…WTF Oprah? You could kick her skinny ass!
I digress…I like Tim Gunn, he doesn’t seem as fake and self-absorbed as a lot of other people in the fashion industry can be. And I bet it would be a very interesting read!

Why does working in the fashion industry make people think they’re better than everyone? It’s like they get a Cunt License.

The movie, “The Devil Wears Prada” scares me how people treat each other in the fashion industry. But, this just reinforce the idea people like them do exist in this world.
