Here at Lovelyish, we’re always looking for new ways to embrace the Xanga community and really get everybody involved. Since we love reading all the comments just as much as you do, we thought it would be a fun idea to take a little sneak peak into the lives of some of our favorite readers!

Wouldn’t you like to know a little bit more about the person behind the avatar that’s bringing us such great advice and opinions? We know we would!

So what better way to cure those Monday blues than a little Q & A with word2thajbird! 



Lovelyish: What’s your real name, age (only if you feel up for sharing), and where are you from? 

word2thajbird: My name is Jessica, but my friends call me J-Bird. I’m 23, and I’m from the Washington DC metro area. 

L: What do you do when you are not cruising through Lovelyish, reading posts and offering up advice? 

w2tjb: Doing hair and makeup at a salon that I work at in Winchester, VA. Or I’m chasing around my 1 year old daughter! She means the world to me!  

L: What are your favorite types of posts to read on Lovelyish? 

w2tjb: Anything on new makeup/fashion trends. I love seeing what people around the world are doing, and picking up some of their own beauty/fashion tips. 

L: If you could change one thing about Lovelyish what would it be? And why? 

w2tjb: I read an older “Meet a Reader” post, and I thought that this idea would be awesome. I think that we need a post on bloggers that create their own clothing, do makeup, tutorials, ect. I think that would be really cool. 

L: How would you describe your personal style? 

w2tjb: Trendy. I wear clothes that people would not look twice at. Accessories are a girls best friend. You can make anything look like gold with great accessories. 

L: If you could only have 5 beauty products in your possession what would they be? 

w2tjb: Paul Mitchell Super Strong Liquid Treatment, Paul Mitchell Platinum Blonde Shampoo, Paul Mitchell Instant Moisture Treatment, MAC Concealer, and Mascara (any!). 

(Geeze… can you tell I’m a “hair” girl?! silly) 

L: Where are your favorite places to shop for clothes or makeup when you are looking for something special to splurge on? What about when you are on a bargain hunt? 

w2tjb: I usually only splurge on beauty products at like Sephora, or MAC. For clothes, I more or less bargain shop. I mean, I’d rather get 6 pieces of clothing for $80 rather than 1 piece. Forever 21 and TJ MAXX are my faves! 

L: What is one fashion trend you wish people would never wear again? 

w2tjb: JNCOS! Do you remember JNCOS!? PLEASE do NOT bring those things back! Terrible!!! 

L: What fashion or beauty icon do you most look up to, or most try to emulate, and why? 

w2tjb: Not really anyone. I pretty much do “me,” and set my own rules. If I like something I’ll wear it. I stay true to my own personal fashion. I get compliments, so I guess I’m doing something right! 

L: What is your most prized article of clothing and makeup? 

w2tjb: Probably my Louis Vuitton suitcase. It’s broken, but I still insist on keeping it. 

L: What/Who is your guilty pop culture pleasure? 

w2tjb: Lady gaga. Of course!
