This morning Rue McClanahan (best known as Blanche from Golden Girls) passed away at the age of 76.
Blanche was the original Samantha, the inspiration for Samantha from Sex and the City.
With her charming smooth, southern accent she charmed men and her fans for years as the hilarious and sexual member of the excellent GG cast. McClanahan helped women realize that sex shouldn’t just be fun for a man and that females should enjoy it just as much, if not more.
Stay classy and rest in peace, Rue. You will be much missed.

I watched this show with my grandma all the time. I won’t say I was ever a big fan of the show, but her character on the show was probably my favorite. RIP.
