A (guy) friend of mine is a pretty stylish kid, an artsy hipster type who wears skinny jean, crisp white t-shirts, and takes care of his hair.

I love him to death but I almost hit him when he told he typically drops $200 on a pair of jeans, specifically Nudie jeans. Make no mistake, he doesn't have money to burn and he is usually broke. But when he does have cash, it goes towards buying raw jeans.

What are raw jeans? Jeans you aren't supposed to wash for months. You buy these raw pairs of denim and wear them constantly so they mold to your body and fade with you.

I don't know about you, but I think the idea of wearing the same pair of jeans for months without washing seems pretty gross. Maybe you are asking, like I did, what do you do if they start to smell? My friend put his in the freezer and they were fine the next day.

Another problem with this type of jeans is that you have to have a very specific body type to wear them because the way they are made-- these babies are for the long and lean. A body type many of us are not.

He swears that raw jeans are the only way to go, but I am perfectly happy in my jeans I scored from a thrift store for $3. I mean, $200 on a pair of jeans? That seems obscene to a girl on budget.

Lovelies, are you interested in raw jeans? How much do you usually pay for your jeans?
