One of my friends made a comment the other day about how clothes by Bebe “used to be cute, but now they’re just slutty.”

My first thought was, hey, I remember saying that same thing about Christina Aguilera circa her Dirrty album.

Then I thought about Bebe.

I used to shop there in college; I remember going to their store at Sunset Place in Miami and buying nice dresses and skirts, until they changed the store into “bebe sport”(RIP, btw) and all of the merchandise morphed into velour track suits — downgrade.

So to see if Bebe truly had degenerated into, let’s say, revealing club attire, I cruised over to their website and realized my friend might be right.


I’d hate to write off an entire clothing line just because of a few ill-advised items, though. On the whole, Bebe’s clothes tend to be tight knitwear, but I”m sure I could dredge up a few pieces I could wear to work.
