I’m sure showing your “tramp stamp” to the world is a MAJOR fashion don’t.
There’s a book out called Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady written by Derek Blasberg. Blasberg is an expert in fashion being that he is the Senior Fashion News and Special Projects Editor for V and VMAN magazines.
In this book, he advices how a woman can “turn from trashy into classy” while also keeping it humorous.
1. Don’t Be a Label Whore:
This is actually a pretty cool necklace…
Just because you wear head to toe Louis Vuitton won’t make you look rich. “…Just because you paid a lot of money doesn’t mean you look good,” Blasberg claims. I couldn’t have said it better. It doesn’t hurt to have Louis Vuitton luggage wear but just don’t lug it around to everywhere you go.
2. Showing Too Much Skin
Revealing top AND a mini skirt – too much skin, girl!
If you’re going skin, make sure you’re going to cover SOME parts of your body – or else you’re going to end up looking trashy (and that is the nicer version of saying it). Blasberg believes the current trend in fashion is “the idea of proportions which is to pick one part of your body that you’re gonna bare, then remember to cover up everything else.” So, basically, if you’re going to show your bosoms then make sure you cover your bottom.
3. You Should Always Wear Underwear
You should always wear underwear in public no matter what. You don’t ever want to be put in a situation where you could be called the “firecrotch.”
4. Buying Knockoffs
Interesting take. It actually looks pretty cool.
Okay this is where I have to differ! I love buying knockoff shoes and apparently Blasberg doesn’t think it is a fashion do. But, I do agree with him that you should not buy knockoffs that are so blatantly fake where even your grandma could tell it’s not legit.
5. Emailing Naughty Photos
Oh Miley! At least you’re still covered up, right…?
Don’t be a Miley Cyrus or Vanessa Hudgens culprit. You may never know where that email goes! Easy as that.
Do you think these guidelines are good? Do you follow any of them?

definitely.
esp the lable whore one haha

How is the last one considered something to do with fashion?
I agree with the rest.

LMAO the miley picture is hilarious HAHAHAH that’s so not her -_-

I agree, especially with the wearing underwear one!
guest
I go commando all the time! It’s liberating.
It’s also environmental friendly; you don’t have to wash your underwear as much (conserving water).

The ideal for showing skin is 40% of skin, the rest should be covered. I believe there are studies that cite this as the most attractive.
Agree with all of the above. The knockoffs is important b/c knockoffs sold on the street, money goes toward things such as drug and sex trafficking. Don’t want to be supporting that.

@corpsegutted@xanga - nothin’ fashionable about soft porn….

haha I saw this book in a magazine! I wanted to get it.

I do all these things. # 2 and 3 should just be done out of respect for oneself.
rose / 917 posts
Agreed on all

i totally disagree with the last one. i be emailing n00dz night and day.

label whores, whenever i tell one of them where i got something that they had just complimented as cute they instantly change their mind and say ewww. That really baffles me.
guest
I agree. The ghetto folk at my ghetto high school would walk around with the price tag still attached. And a lot of the time, they didn’t have pencils. So it was obvious were they were skimming on money

AGREEEDDD. but yeah i like the LV bag haha it’s clever

……people don’t wear underwear? o_0

I follow #1 and #3. The rest I, don’t see a point to.
guest
cant agree more x)

1,2, & 4 I follow, but underwear is overrated and hubby loves the pictures sooo…….

Definitely…

definitely on the underwear thing! my roommate apparently won’t wear underwear if she’s wearing a tight skirt to the bar because apparently even a thong can give too many lines…
guest
I agree on all of those, basically.
guest
number 5 had nothing to do with fashion. just sayin… I agree with everything else though. I only buy my knockoff bags from one person, because they are very similar to the real thing.
guest
AGREEEED! except i agree with @sweetquietchild@xanga number 5 has nothing to do with fashion.
guest
I follow #1 and #5 (even though I don’t see how that is a fashion don’t) underwear is actually uhealthy for you and when I go to a party I like to show skin and my bf has no problem with that. Besides people shouldn’t come up with rules that all females should follow fashion is about choice, feeling comfortable in what you’re in, and personal expression of one self. If you want to follow rules go ahead but I rather make my own choices.

I don’t have an issue with knockoffs. I think it’s sick that we focus so much on labels that god forbid we see a girl wearing UGG looking boots without the UGG label on it. Call 911 and get the fashion police over here!
It’s not that serious.
guest
lol i like this post
guest
@cswilik@xanga - Agreed. I wouldn’t say “all the time”, but there are times when I think it’s better to go without. If you do it right, no one will be any the wiser. And that is by far classier than a whale tail.
guest
last one is the best, completely agree
guest
Good list! I do hate label whores.

@cswilik@xanga - This, and air circulation as well as not having friction or anything constantly against the skin is healthier. It’s one thing if you’re planning on wearing something that’s going to wind up flashing crotch all over the place, but pants and modest skirts? Commando wins.

i follow all……
sometimes.

Showing your crack is worse than showing your tramp stamp.

Miley =(

I got a kick outta this.
guest
first of all – can’t really say i agree with the “always wear undies” but that’s just me! i could never ever ever get a tramp stamp, they are SO tacky, trashy, skanky, and 1997. and as for miley, well….you can’t trust everyone hobag so don’t be sending risque photos to silly immature boys!
guest
From my point of view not that is counts, if you have a tat and you keep to your self fine. Other then that its a TRAMP STAMP. Like at the Whore caught messing around with Jesse James…..TRAMP…Point made
guest
Dont wear knockoffs?.. Who the hell even cares? lol.. But then again, dont wear too much label brands? wtf.. Also, there is nothing wrong with “tramp stamps” atleast not now a days, maybe in like.. the 50′s or something.. Not since everyone gets tattoos.. showing to much skins a given, makes girls look like whores, but some girls like being easy like that
guest
@Tanezia_Delight@xanga - haha yeah, so true.. what if people cant afford label brands? They are OVERPRICED.. especially for how cheaply they are made
orchid / 103 posts
Great post! These rules are so simple, yet so many people fail to follow them. I don’t have feelings either way on knockoffs. I think they’re ok, and if people want the real deal, that’s ok, too. The underwear thing is just an obvious given, I think. The skin rule is something I totally agree with. It looks better when you bare some, not all!
daisy / 728 posts
completely agree!!
PS: i dont think ppl should buy knockoffs too, just go for a less expensive brands if you have to..there are always something comparable!
orchid / 197 posts
*giggles* So true!! Hey, I’m really really attracted by each and every post of yours, they’re really catchy and interesting!! Keep blogging, gurl!! =)

I see it more like guidelines on how not to look tacky, rather than fashion rules. My main “rules” that I wouldn’t mind everyone following would be:
1. Wear clothes that fit.
2. Look clean and neat.
That’s all that I ask. Not everyone has great style, but most people can at least look like they aren’t sloppy or slutty.
