…which is not to say we recommend these sites. Here at Lovelyish we support classy breakups that don’t involve you digging a key into the side of his pretty little souped up 4-wheel drive. That said, if the bastard did something really heinous, like cheated on you, read on, ladies, read on.
1. Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry - So your ex showered you with Tiffany heart pendants and diamond earrings. Can’t bear to wear that stuff post-breakup? Sell it on Ex-Boyfriend Jewelry (slogan: “You don’t want it. He can’t have it back”), an eBay type site where pissed-off women can sell trinkets from former lovers (and anyone can score some nice jewelry for cheap…as long as you don’t think it’s bad luck!). The most popular section?
No-longer-applicable engagement rings.
The best part is where the seller dishes about what went wrong, e.g.: “This diamond ring is genuine, but the guy was not.”
2. Don’t Date Him Girl – Got a blind date? Googling him is de rigeur, but if you’re really worried, search his name on this database of scummy guys, whose profiles are posted by girls who have loved (or, ahem, loved in a physical way) and lost. If you see his photo and lots of expletives, you might want to think twice before meeting the dude for a drink. What can we say? Karma’s a strong minded woman, boys.
3. Why My Ex Sucks - If ranting is more your style than revenge, head to Why My Ex Sucks and blow off some cybersteam on all of his trysts and tricks. It’s all anonymous…unless you decide to give incriminating details.
4. Sorry, Mom – Subtitled “I bang the worst dudes,” this Tumblr site will post a photo of your ex with a black bar censor over the eyes (or its hilarious default picture, the front of a Summer’s Eve box) and let you dish about what went wrong. Some of the descriptions are hilariously loony: “I’d done voodoo before, but this low, lying, non-artistic graphic designer better start watching his back because he has never-ever felt needles in his lower groin and he is about to.” Yikes.
Reading all these stories from scorned women got me thinking…why aren’t there popular sites for men like this, where the dudes can trash their ex-girlfriends? I think it’s the same reason why men often get over breakups MUCH quicker than we do: they’re less prone to bitterness and more apt to just move on to the next girl. Hey, maybe we should take a page from the guy playbook on this one, Lovelies: by holding onto anger, you’re only hurting yourself.
Have you seen any of these sites? Would you ever trash your ex on the Internet?
