I just got back from my first year of college and in the midst of unpacking realized I had a surplus of tees.
Being the organized girl that I am, I put my t-shirts in neat color-coordinated piles. I always knew I had a lot of tees from school activities and all of my years of dance, but I never knew just how many I had.
That is until I came home from college with a whole shelf’s worth of new cotton wonders.
The majority of my tees have something like: “I heart blah blah blah” or “Dancing Diva” written on them. I don’t think I even payed for most of them (it pays to be in just about every school club). I own at least one tee in every color of the rainbow. And some are hand-made.
I counted my t-shirts one by one and reached number 78! That’s not including the ones that were in the wash.
For some reason I just can’t seem to get rid of these t-shirts. Every time I clean out my closet, I convince myself to keep them all–everything from a camouflage one that says “Be All You Can Be” to a black one that says “You Can Sleep When You’re Dead!”
Although I love wearing them to bed, to work out, and to chill around the house, I would love a more fashionable way to wear a tee that says something such as: “Don’t Fall in Love at the Bursley Shore”.
Any creative ideas Lovelies? Are your closets overflowing with t-shirts too?

I don’t know how you could wear them…but you could cut out the cute sayings in squares and make a cool quilt!

if you have any sort of knack for sewing, it’s pretty easy to take a fitted tee that you like and use it as a pattern to make some of those other tees a little more flattering. then you can play with them however you like–dress them up with a summery scarf and skirt and some exciting jewelry and hit the town.

make cushions. cut out a square of front and back, and stuff it. you keep the sayigs, but you don’t have to wear them around.

i recommend the diy books generation T 108 ways to transform a shirt and generation t beyond fashion.
they have some really good ideas. they even have “no sew” projects that require no sewing at all. so far i’ve made a circle scarf, a fringe scarf and a hooded scarf [[so i like scarves...so sue me. haha plus they're really easy to make]]
here’s their blog if you wanna check it out: http://www.generation-t.com/

Are you my roommate? Because she has a bajillion t-shirts, they are all she wears! I’m not saying that in a bad way though, because they are her style.

@lesprit__descalier@xanga - I like the idea of making them into pillows… or donate some of them. I usually wear the ones that aren’t so “Fashionable” as PJs. Not sure if you are crafty… if not… worn in Tees always are in style so if you find a cute way to layer it. Cardigan, vest, so just a hint of it stick out.
P.S. I don’t even want to count the # of T-shirts I have!!! Brave girl
