My bf has this thang with Lacoste polos. He has this one style in 5 different colors… yes, 5, I’m not kidding (Black, Green, Lavendar, Pink, and White). I’m sorta ambivalent about the whole look… I guess it’s classic, but also sorta boring. And it reminds me of what my dad would always wear. A polo + khakis.
Weigh in at Lovelyish Advice: Do you like polo shirts on your significant others or on yourself?

Tired for women, Trendy for men. That’s just how it is. Ladies look nicer with some form fitting (not tight) clothing with a flattering neckline. Emphasis on the flattering neckline. Collared shirts totally kill it for women. Maybe it’s cool if you’re playing tennis.

tired for girl tredy for guy guys look so0o nice and a polo i hate the big baggy shirt phase

I think polos are classic, not necessarily trendy/tired. I’d rather wear a Lacoste polo than something from Forever 21.
Meh, maybe it’s because I hang around with guys more often than girls. It’s funny, I’m on the more feminine side in the female engineering population but a tomboy everywhere else

tired, unless yur a fifty year old man on the golf course….

polos are very classy for men and men look nice in them….for girls on the other hand, BLEH TIRED. girls don’t look as classy just super preppy when i see girls where them i think of the preppy cheerleaders in movies with the blonde hair, polos and skirts. gross.

they are both sadly trendy if designed/worn right , tired of worn wrong

I agree – Depending on how you wear it, if it it’s toooo tight where it’s bulging out areas that are not supposed to bulge (not counting boobs!), or where it’s sooo loose , it’s going to make the polo shirt look ugly!

I own a lot of polos and when I say a lot, I mean more than 10… one in every color of the rainbow + black, brown, pink & white. I love polos but I don’t wear them all the time. I generally only wear them when I go out for a nice brunch or other events like that. I don’t always like wearing stuff with “flattering necklines” or whatever. Polos look good on me so I’m going to keep wearing them
@haloed@xanga - Many of my polos are fitted ;P

I have 3 polo’s: black, white & navy. I wear them with khaki’s sometimes to my internship and mostly when I am going somewhere where you need to look nice but not dressy. I wear men’s polo’s though not women’s because I don’t like how tight they are in the wrong places. I’ve found that for me at least men’s polo’s fit my curves nicely. They are definitely not something I’m gonna wear everyday but I do think they are a classic item.

They are classic, but I’ve always thought they were kind of boring.

On men- a bit tired. On women- always classic.C’est la vie.

I love polo t-shirts on my boy. I like to wear them myself, too, every now and then.

Tired all around, at least in solid colors. I had to wear them for jobs a time or two, it got old real fast.

I like seeing them on guys, but not all of the time. My boyfriend golfs frequently, so it’s sort of a usual for him, and he is oddly fashion-conscience this year, so he pulls it off. In general, though, I’d say the occasional polo is better than the every day polo.
Personally, I’ve tried polos, and I just don’t think I look cute in them. I can’t pull it off, and I also think it might be a more tired trend for girls than guys.

Depends on the wearer, as usual.

CLASSIC!

its a classic, but not for those giant logo tacky shit

I think they look good on guys. Girls, though? Not so much…

blech…. it’s not that great anymore… but some people can work it

homer simpson wears a white polo without the alligator logo. it would be boring if he only had 5 colors and wore it on rotation. it wouldn’t be that boring if he mixed and matched it or layered the look to make it seem less tiring.

I wear them! But they are actually a really flattering style on me… it’s one of the few styles I don’t need to try on to know that it fits me well. I don’t really follow trends, but I do wear what flatters my figure, and polos do that. On guys… well, guys at my college have to wear collared shirts or sweaters, and quite a few just settle for polos. I used to like them, but now I’m getting kind of tired of seeing them on everyone…

classic, i own a ton of polos, but my rule is that if you can’t see my white tank top peaking out, then I wouldn’t wear it.
My boyfriend is in love with them also.

I think guys in collared shirts are sexy.

i have lacoste polos in several colors. i don’t see what the big deal is. i also have a bunch from ralph lauren and a&f. they’re just polos; they’re classic.
guest
i love polos. i can see myself wearing it in 10, 20, 30+ years.
guest
Hahaha… your boyfriend only has 5? Mine has 15! He wears his polos with jeans, not khakis (I think I would throw up a lil in my mouth if he wore polos and khakis all the time). Anyway, it’s trendy for guys… tired for girls. It’s a really boring look for girls.

I could wear polo shirts all week!
