I live in bright colored dresses, shirts, sweatshirts, coats, and basically anything you can think of. I’ve recently found out that more people than I expected are reluctant to wear bright colors.
My advice is… don’t be! Bright colors literally brighten you up. After finding the right color it can make your eyes glow and your skin radiant. Plus, I think wearing a bright dress subconsciously raises your mood.
I came up with a few tips for wearing bright colors:
1. Wear a piece that is the same color as your eyes, it will instantly bring them out.
2. Wear one bright clothing item and the rest of your outfit should be fairly neutral.
3. Bright colors do not mean highlighter-hue shirts, they can easily end up looking like a construction workers vest.
Bright colors are the perfect thing to wear now that it is finally Spring. They are always in, especially for Spring and Summer. So, try it out! Reflect the warm, sunny weather in your outfit choices.
Will you wear bright colors this Spring, Lovelies?

Yes. All that 80s themed brightness from last year can’t just sit in the closet, can it?

i only like bright things in small amounts.

As it happens I just pulled on my new bright pink tie-dye shirt… it’s very pretty. I’m not a big fan of bright colors, honestly – most of my wardrobe runs to black, tan, grey and dark red… but hey, gotta have some ‘fun’ pieces!
guest
This is a challenge for me. My go-to colors are navy, black, blue, and white. I like bright pieces as accessories, but I would never go for a hot pink dress or bright yellow coat.

Yay for spring, I love yellow. It looks great with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. Plus got to love bright blues and greens. I wear these colors year round but I feel spring just gives them new life.
guest
Mhmm… I will be wearing bright colors. My favorite piece is a slip dress that has rainbow colored flowers watercolored all of it. So bright!

No.

I always wear bright colours in spring.

Because I usually stick with my blacks and whites, I think bright colors are a nice change once in a while. I’m really craving a yellow top, not too bright but just enough oomph to make it really stand out against dark skinnies and my dark hair
I think it’d look sweet without being OVERLY sweet, depending on the accessories — I can still edge it up a bit to match my style.

I’ve never been afraid of color. If I like it, I like it.

hell NO

I love that yellow jacket. Love it.

I’ve recently fell in love with coral. I have a cardigan, tank top and nail polish. I won’t go as far as yellow because I don’t think it looks good on my skin tone.
guest
Well I do have a bright green jacket in my closet that needs to get some use…

I wish the back tights and Uggs would disappear. It’s spring

“Unconscious,” not “subconscious.” The latter is Freudian psychology; the former is a constant state.

I wear dark and bright colours, I don’t just stick with one colour combo. So, yes, I will wear bright colours!

yes, i will definitely be wearing bright colors. in fact, i wear bright colors almost all season. my motto has always been: “wear what makes you feel good.” and bright colors are ALWAYS what make me feel good.
guest
i love bright clothes! in fact, 70% of my wardrobe consists of bright colors [orange, pink and red pants, bright blue, green, pink, orange tops], the other 30% would be all the darks and neutrals that i need to pair with my brights. i’m pretty much known as the brightly-colored one amongst my friends, and it’s always easy to pick me out of a crowd. maybe it’s not so great to always stick out, but bright colors make me smile and happy, that’s all the reason i need.
one definite rule of mine: always wear a bright color on rainy or cloudy days. not only do i myself desperately need it to keep my spirits up, i’m sure some of it will rub off on others and lift moods.
guest
There’s no such thing as BRIGHT BROWN. so i can’t match my eyes and make them stand out.
darnnnn

Bright colors usually make fat people look fatter.
I’m trying to make myself look thinner, not look like a tomato, an orange, a school bus, a tree, or Patrick Star.
Thanks, but no thanks.

i love wearing bright colors! any colors actually…. neutral colors dont really suit me.

I love bright colored clothes! It’ll definitely brighten up your day!

Yep. Spring is supposed to be about color, not black/white/tan crap.
daffodil / 1975 posts
@Hermeown@xanga - Unless you’re wearing all of the same bright color, that isn’t true. A bright shirt paired with jeans or black slacks/white skirts will balance a person out no matter what a person’s size. Of course, if it’s not your thing, it’s not your thing, which is entirely different.

Go bright colors!
I apparently attract to bright colors now since it’s spring and it’s usually something to be happy about. Something to brighten up the day. -haha get the pun?- okay anyways that was bad. Anyways! I’d love to find more stores that would sell vibrant pieces that over cluttered with patterns or overpriced. Anyone have suggestions?

”Wear a piece that is the same color as your eyes, it will instantly
bring them out.”
what about us asian who have dark eyes? -n-
lol joking…
i got quite a few green tops that dominated my wardrobe after my black/grey clothes -u-
not particularly a big fan of green but somehow the designs i was looking at only have green as the only colour to choose from…

Yes! I’ve always been afraid of bright colors because I thought they looked bad on me but now that I’ve experimented, I’m excited!

I love bright colors! I have a red pea coat, a teal floral dress, yellow tanks, and a plethora of other obnoxiously bright clothes. I also have a ton of black and gray to tone it down. :p

Ugh – American culture, you can hardly find colorful pieces that look good and cute. I think that’s why Forever 21 is finally ( I mean after ten years) catching on with its pieces. Asian culture has always been about colour and every singer has dressed up lady gaga-esque even though I’m sure Lady Gaga has paved way for the American culture to follow her.

Yeah! I love bright colors.. It’s summertime!

Bright colors are must have items
even not in Summer/Spring
I wear little things of bright colors in my dark color dressing(e.g. shocking pink belt or watch)
I love it =3=

@betterdesigned@xanga - Oh, I like bright colors, but I’ve yet to find flattering clothes. It’s frustrating, really. I especially can’t weird solids because then I just highlight all my negative aspects. So then I just end up wearing a lot of black with the occasional brightly colored accessory. I’m sick of it, but it works!
daffodil / 1975 posts
@Hermeown@xanga - I was like that for a long time myself. It just comes down to searching for new stores to shop in. There are plenty that have great pieces. =)
guest
Yes! I love bright colors. I’ve been helping my mom make over her wardrobe (she’s lost a lot of weight recently and needs new clothes), and she always tends to go for the more muted or darker colors. The brighter colors look so much better on her! It’s a work in progress.
guest
I always wear bright colors. I love them.
guest
I like to do the bright colour piece or accessory.. I like wearing bright coloured tights
guest
thankyou for posting this! people are SO fucking boring anymore. you don’t have to look like rainbow bright but a pop of color wouldn’t kill anyone.
orchid / 160 posts
I love bright colors although I’m sometimes afraid to wear them if they are anything other than blue/turquoise.
guest
When have I NOT worn bright colours? :’)
sunflower / 477 posts
i just realized other people probably said the same thing, but yeah, that was a silly comment about eye colors. what about people with brown or gray eyes? nothing bright about that.
guest
Of course I will. I love bright colors.
guest
i wore white jeans and a bright orange bag today, i do have a lot of color in my wardrobe.
guest
I went all out today with a yellow shirt, purple boots, an obnoxiously orange purse, and a rainbow striped umbrella. It was actually a lot of fun since most of my wardrobe is neutral and dark.
guest
If you look at my closet, it is color-coded. I probably have something of every color [not necessarily every shade though]. I didn’t have any tone/dull colors until I entered high school…now, I also have white, gray and black in my closet.
guest
Most of my wardrobe is black, white or gray, but I’m looking forward to going shopping! Love yellows and pinks.
guest
my eyes are brown so that won’t be bright lol. i’ve been trying to brighten up my closet.
