So we now know that Jake chose Vienna, the “b*tch/bad girl”-and the “good girl” (Tenley) got left out in the dust. Some girls are complaining now that good girls finish last. Chances are the same thing would happen if it was a girl choosing a guy.
She would probably pick the jerk over the nice guy. Leaving him in the dust. And then guys (especially the nice ones) and girls would be pissed that she’d pick the jerk over the nice dude.
Do you think that nice girls AND guys finish last? Why is it that we tend to choose the jerk/bad girl over the good guy/girl?

The bad ones are usually more fun and have more confidence.

The only ones that finish last are the ones without confidence, nice or not. The bad ones may be “more fun” for a while but, hey, it gets old quick. He made his choice. He may regret it in the future. The girl he didn’t choose can move on, find a guy that loves her as is and then laugh in the loser’s face.

I thought Tenley was the Vienna, and vice versa when I first saw their pictures.
Who would’ve guessed that the girl who looks like Big Bird would take up the bitchy attitude…
But yeah Tenley is hands down the hotter of the two. She’ll find another rich, perfect guy in no time.

Because people are stupid and gluttons for punishment. Seriously, though, I think it may be because nice ones try too hard while the bad ones exude an air of indifference and appear aloof. Basically, what it comes down to is the statement I started with: people are stupid.

i think jake would be bored mindless if he stayed with tenley and her disney personality hah hah

Basing conceptions of romance on a reality TV show that is meant to provide romance in a package (including free, great dates, lots of wine, and foreign holidays) is not a brilliant idea.
I don’t believe any girl who’s got an ounce of maturity in her would choose a true “bad boy”. At least, when I think of what a “bad” guy would be, I think a guy who’s gone to jail once or is near that, a guy who does drugs, an alcoholic, a man whore, a gambler. Frankly, any person who chooses to spend the rest of their lives with that sort of people deserve every ounce of misery they get, because relationships (especially marriage) are not just about love, it’s also about practicality and stability.
Nice girls/guys may not be the most popular, initially, but they’ll have the best relationships. To me that’s worth it.

Well, I didn’t like Vienna OR Tenley.
Vienna was a jerk and Tenley reminded me of a Disney princess knock-off. SO annoying. My favorite for a while was Gina, she was sweet.

I’m a nice person but brutally honest, and I don’t consider myself to “finish last” on anything. And I never choose the jerk because I know what kind of guy I want
as for people who do choose the asshole over the angel, they’re obviously confused XD

because people are stupid. (to put it nicely.)

TV “reality” isn’t really reality…

Nice guys/girls don’t finish last. There’s no set definition of “nice,” and some royal bitches are probably the sweetest women on earth (and vice versa). It’s usually a physical appearance thing, anyway. People will always pick the more attractive choice first, case closed.
guest
I hate to say it, but sometimes theyr’e more interesting. It’s probably the confidence thing. Tenley was a sweet little thing, while Vienna was very blunt and in your face, and maybe that was refreshing to Jake. I think that he may regret his decision though; Tenley would’ve been a good lifelong partner.
guest
Technically, didn’t the nice girl finish 2nd? She did make it to the final 2.
guest
I think everyone goes through a few “bad girls/guys” before they truly appreciate the good girl/guy.
guest
Oh my god, that chick is fuzzy ugly.

I hate Vienna haha. Anyway yes I do think so, and this season of the bachelor was a great example
guest
It’s probably the confidence and spirit that nice people tend to lack. B*tches have an image that says ” Take it or leave it, I’m enough.” while nice girls have an image that just screams “Take everything I’ve got, I’m just not enough and am therefore likely to over-compensate.”

the nice guys/girls finish last because they don’t make attempts at being with said person. they let that person walk all over them and then they wonder why they’re always getting the short end of the stick. (figuratively and literally)

tenley’s easier on the eyes!

LMAO the comments are hilarious! Vienna is kind of ugly tho!! i stopped watching this show last season. =( booo

Ummm yes, the saying wasn’t originally nice GIRLS finish last so… Yeah… It applies to both genders. Anyway, it’s not about who is “nice” or “bitchy” it’s about who seems to want you more and naughty people are very charming… lol

I think it’s kind of dumb (for lack of a better word) to say that good girls and guys finish last just because it was that way on the Bachelors…
I mean, since when are they the role model of a typical relationship?
And if good girls and nice guys finish last, then they should finish together, and then they’ll live happily ever after.
@MoonFaeEyryan@xanga -agreed.

yes. but the nice will get someone better
….eventually (hopefully )

vienna looks like she has 2 black eyes.. ><
i love tenleyyy~ she’s so adorablee (:

i was kind of hoping for the same thing that happened with jason and molly. i wish jake would do that with tenley.
i think vienna needs a little more growing up to do.
guest
kinda disappointing , but its true , i think everyone likes a bit of badness

@my_horizon@xanga - There’s no such thing as a perfect guy. Or a perfect woman, for that matter.
But yeah… She’ll find someone else. We all do, eventually.

Vienna is not a bad girl. Simply to say you do not even know her and
all you know is what you have seen on the bachelor. I am sure she is
just as great as Jake describes her but to judge her as a b*tch or bad
girl is not very nice. Honestly a lot of us go for the guys we know are
not the best for us because it is called security and what we are most
familiar with. With Jake I feel that he did not choose Tenley because
they just were not ment to be, he did not feel that same connection.
ACCEPT IT. hehe

People like being treated like crap.
That’s why nice people like me don’t catch anyone’s eye.
Awesome.

i don’t believe the “nice girls/guys finish last” thing.

The good girls eventually get what ‘good’ brings them and if the bitches get the prize, well, they’ll eventually lose it from the fact that they tire their partner with their attitude. People don’t usually look for serious relationships. It’s just something they want to do because they’re ‘lonely’, and while at it, they usually pick those that had a positive impact on them first, no matter good or bad.

It’s not like they’re going to last, so does it really matter?
I’m beginning to think that nice girls or guys simply dodge a bullet when they “finish last” because they’re not stuck in a relationship that is completely beneath them. If they learn properly from their experience, they will be open to be in a relationship with someone who truly appreciates them in the future.
If she was actually even his choice in the first place because those shows are completely staged. They do this all the time. The nice girl will probably get her own show and each of the winners will probably be paid handsomely for tracking the demise of their relationship.

Vienna has a gross face I haven’t followed this at all
guest
Is it just me or do the two girls look almost exactly alike?
guest
Ummm I don’t follow these shows closely, but I do recall the big deal about this one was that he was the nice guy from a previous Bachelorette and wasn’t chosen??
guest
She was probably more adventurous in bed.
guest
never really understood this. sure the allure is interesting for a fling but not a life partner. i am a good girl and i am married to a great guy.
guest
Duh.

Nice ones may seem less confident/needy/desperate. It’s okay though because Tenley is going to be the next bachelorette on that show!
guest
I never watched the show. I saw bits and pieces. But somehow, the bitch of the house is always in the top two in these reality shows. I think in a few cases, she has gone home. She shows one side to the guy, one to the girls. Hence, we get the guy saying “I never saw that side of her”. It’s horse puckey. If she was being all that different to be with him, she doesn’t really deserve him. I don’t think nice girls finish last, though.
This could go either way in your example. I’ve seen guys get tossed aside by girls who want the jerk. I’ve seen girls get tossed aside for guys who want the bitch. Would I do that? The way my radar goes off when a jerk is in my midst, you gotta be kidding me. I couldn’t handle being with a jerk all the time. I’d probably lose my shit and kick his ass. Who wants to be around a two-faced person?
I’m the kind of gal who goes for the nice guys. And the nice guys sometimes have the hots for the girls who don’t even want them. They pine for them while I pine for the guy and it’s a mess. So it’s one thing to be confident, another to be a flat out ass. If that’s what he wanted, a bitch, he got her. When the honeymoon is over, I hope they last.
But since this is reality TV, it probably won’t.
guest
what about all the girls/boys in between?
guest
I honestly never had a problem with Vienna. She never intentionally started any drama and I believe that the girls were against her because they were jealous of her connection with Jake. I don’t think she’s a bitch or a “bad girl,” either. She’s really sweet. I’m glad she won. I’m sick of seeing girls like Tenley win, anyway. There was nothing really that special or different about her.
hydrangea / 72 posts
Well to some it maybe an issue and to some it isn’t..But that girl Tenley was married before. I think he would like to start off with a girl who has a clean slate.. Vienna’s goal was to get Jake.. And other girls were threatened by her. .Well there was this episode where she couldn’t wait to see him again and he turned her down. It was the double date with the other brunette girl in the castle. But it shows that she is only interested in him and will do anything to get him. Hes a very smart guy and will make wise decisions. If you watched the Canadian Bachelorette he wouldn’t let the bachelorette settle for the guy who took advantage of her just to make himself get a music career. He knows what he is doing. He got to know Tenley from his experiences with her and he is the only one that can make this decision. And even if it doesn’t turn out between them at least they tried. No harm done in that.
guest
I didn’t think Vienna was that bad. I didn’t understand what she did. She only said something bad like once…and the other girls said more mean things then her. I personally wouldn’t be her best friend because brutally honest isn’t my fortay…but the way she is with Jake is really almost perfect. They have fun together and thats what a relationship should be. He obviously was more himself around her then Tinsley
guest
@Sxybrunette - Vienna was married before to.
guest
yes, it’s very true! i think it’s a confidence thing, because this nice girl always finishes last and i refuse to dress/dance/act like a slut to get to first.
ew, i agree, the brunette is so much prettier than the blonde
