Ah, isn’t it great when things get blown out of proportion by the media, and everyone and their brother actually BELIEVES everything?

I recently read one of the top posts talking about a so called “lingerie” line “launched” by Noah Cyrus.

“What?  Really?  That’s absurd!”

Those were my first thoughts.  So, I did a little bit more research.  What I found was NOT mentioned by the blog I referred to above.  In reality:

1) Launching a line is different from modeling for a line

Just because Noah is the new face of this so called “lingerie” line, does not mean it’s hers.  It was actually started in 2004.  I don’t think she started it when she was four years old…

2) I don’t know who put the tag of “lingerie” on these articles of clothing, but besides being sleeveless, it’s not anything revealing, or different than what other little girls wear.  They sell dresses, long sleeved sweaters, and colorful leggings.  Not frilly bras, corsets, or see-through thongs.

3) Just an FYI, Noah actually just turned ten, she’s not nine.  Though I do recognize both those ages are still young, how can we trust information from someone who can’t get her age right?

Now, I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m tired of adults bashing young celebrities like Noah, Miley, and Taylor Momsen.  From what I can see, they’re no different than an other teenager, besides the fact they’re on TV!  I didn’t know the criteria for being on television is you have to be a prude goody two shoes your entire life.  I don’t think I could handle the pressure of fame, and I don’t get why it’s any of our business.

NO ONE is the perfect role model.  But unlike the celebrities, we can hide it from the small impressionable minds around us.  If Miley wears some skimpy clothing, whatever, she’s like any other 16 year old.  It’s the media’s fault for putting it on the front of every magazine for children to see.

Does anyone else agree?  Isn’t it the media’s fault for making a mountain out of a molehill?  Are the parents to blame for trying to let their celebrity children grow up normally?
