I usually don’t wear makeup and if anything, very, very minimal at most (eyeliner and mascara). However, when I found out that NARS Spring 2010 collection was out, I had to take a look.  This collection’s inspiration is based on the 1968 French movie, La Chamade (U.S. Title: Heartbeat), which is actually based on the novel by Françoise Sagan with the same title. NARS was inspired by Catherine Deneuve’s makeup look in this movie. Let’s see if the colours match up…

I see that Deneuve’s makeup is rather simple and harbors rosy and light colours. It seems that this collection is does not really follow this palette since it includes many “shocking” colors that I don’t think Catherine (or anyone) in the late 60s would wear, like Gothic Rain (purple) Nail Polish or  Tamango Glistening Cabernet. Nonetheless still pretty and attractive.
