If a woman didn’t she would be rejected in society.In the times of World War II, women actually had to take up the factory jobs that the men had to leave behind and produce the warfare. If women are beneath men, then how come we have made top positions in politics, (i.e Nancy Pelosi, Hilliary Clinton) as doctors, or as business CEOs. Also, i guess the statistics must be a joke, too? Agreed with all of this.  The right to vote, thing, though… is historically inaccurate.  Women were legally granted the right to vote in the 1920s.  Most women did not vote until much later, however.

@Rien_Jabura@xanga - actually, the reason “men” made “everything” is because you had the resources to create them. obviously the number one thing was EDUCATION. while women were forced to do the “barefoot and pregnant” routine, men were able to go to school and get an education and be able to create the many things we have today. and really you should be thanking women because if they didn’t give birth and slave away to make sure their sons got the education they needed, we wouldn’t have these inventions. and have you realized that it’s mostly MEN that contribute to the corruption and death of millions of people? of course there are women who have done a great deal of damage, but as men have created things that brought advances to society, they have destroyed groups of people and torn them apart. and seriously? men cook better than women? i would MUCH rather eat my mama’s home-cooked meals than to go to a restaurant only to have a male chef cook me some tiny dip-shit they call a “meal”.

I know it’s lowly to think of such tedious tasks but if you were to bring into this world the next Einstein, you wouldn’t feel a little proud of yourself? Hey, I raised that kid! And as times are changing a lot more women are able to explore different roles rather than childbearing. Just because in the past it’s been mainly men doesn’t mean in the future it will be man-dominated. Also- Marie Curie, Rosalind Franklin, and Jane Goodall…

I’m a woman and I think women rock for a lot of different reasons. But not necessarily because of what we’ve done as compared to men. I think we rock just because of who we are. Same thing, I think guys rock-just for being who they are.
As a woman, I don’t feel the need to have to one up my male counter parts and friends. I’m secure as a woman.
I think it’s really silly to find our coolness based on what we’ve done that others haven’t. I definitely don’t agree that women work more than men. Generalization right there. And I don’t think we’ve done more for our gender than men have, although the feminist movement might have gained more attention than any other.
I’m happy being a woman because it is wonderful to be a woman. I am my own kind of woman, and the boys know I can hold my own ground-but I don’t go out of my way to prove it to them. I know, and that’s enough for me.
I’m stronger in areas that they’re weaker in, & they’re stronger in areas I’m weaker in. It’s a win win situation if we’d both be willing to learn from one another, and accept help from one another.
There’s not a whole lot of difference between women and men when you get right down to the essentials.

I love all of these comments from hyper sensitive men complaining about this post. All this post does is state positives of women, it in no way degrades men. Of course we need both genders to make the world go round but in a world where women are pretty much only valued for their looks, it’s nice to get positive reinforcement in other areas.

The fact of the matter is that women are fully capable of inventing things as well but we were even given the opportunities to do so in the past, and, even if we were incapable, raising a human being is nothing to scoff at. I’m pretty sure Thomas Edison’s mother majorly shaped who he was.

I find lately we are more goal oriented and will work our asses off to get out of our parents house. Lots of young guys prefer to sit around and let mommy do his laundry, cooking and that is less productive. We cherish the value of freedom more than men, therefore, we work hard to acquire it through education and discipline. The oppressed seem to value their opportunities more than the non-oppressed.

I actually asked a woman Marine that last month, she said that in combat you go days without showering or eating and while its not healthy for the men either its a extremely bad environment for women since we have to maintain a body fat percentage to not screw up our menstrual cycles and such which is already low for women in the military with the intense training they go through. The not showering is worse for us too since we are more at risk for infections. She also said that women truly are a distraction in battle, it upsets people more when women are being shot and killed or raped and tortured than men, along with the whole sex thing when your out there for months. More risk for being raped by the men in our own military as well as the other.

When she talked about it like that I could see it made sense, especially the body fat and infections part which is extremely true. Our bodies are just way more complicated and require more care to keep us healthy

Yes, women do rock and they are wonderful, and my Lady is the wonderfulest….but please remember, ladies, that while you are at home rearing the kids (at least until age 5 when they go off to school), we men tend to be out providing for the home, the clothes, the roof over the head, the food for the table, and the dinero to pay bills, rent, your shopping fees….and that ring that we proposed to you with?  It didn’t fall out of a tree, nor did that honeymoon just kind of appear from thin air.  And trust me when I say:  we won’t have a problem in the world shooting someone with real bullets who’d dare lay a hand on you in anger or lust.  And while you may kiss their boo-boos, we will teach them how to grow up, as well as size up the date for prom, letting any guy know in no uncertain terms that we take our daughters’ purity as serious as the guy takes his….well, you know…seriously (and that shotgun over the fireplace?  Yes, we DO know how to use it, and we WILL use it if our daughter comes home crying)…

Oh, and by the way?  We love doing all of those thigns for you, and most of us won’t count the cost…

This is what we call adaptation, and all species and genders are capable of it, otherwise the earth would have become a desolate place and life in general (possibly excluding bacteria) would have become extinct a LONG time ago. As for there being more male chefs than female chefs, it doesn’t mean men cook better. There is such a thing as quality over quantity, and for that matter any given chef of either sex may be better than a chef of the opposite sex.

Besides, aside from our sex organs and muscle mass, gender roles are just a product of evolution and conditioning. Guys could have been wearing skirts and heels and been oppressed, until similar oppinions evolved into women being chosen to experience said circumstances..

As one who studies biotechnology, technically speaking, you don’t even need a man for the sperm creation. Only thing I can guess was drunken bet and to see if it could be done,  because personally, I never realized there was a shortage of sperm so never thought there was a reason to create it artificially. Though they have done it with eggs as well.

The only thing I can’t give you is that you don’t need a man in the equation to make a baby.  Science has helped to replace it?  Sorry, I have absolutely never heard of that happening.  Even “test tube children” are made with a sperm, and a sperm comes from a male.  The rest of them, yeah, definitely, but that one, definitely not.  I don’t know where you got that idea.  You’re the incubator and exceptionally necessary, but if you want a child, you need a sperm.  That’s just a fact of life.  That’s something science can’t replace, thank God.

I am so happy that I’m a woman.  There have been times, when I was younger, that I wished I could have been a boy, because it would have been easier.  At the end of the day, though, I am grateful that I am a woman, because I feel like I get the best of both worlds.  Like you said, we get to be both soft and strong.  It’s wonderful!

It’s clear that the so-called equality you speak of is the Animal Farm variety…that ‘some animals are more equal than others’. The only equality there is between men and women is the balance of our relationship, the equality of qualities we have…and our equal need of each other…even though, for so many of you, so arrogant and ignorant…it is easy to dismiss that.

In the event of a cataclysmic disaster it’s possible that either human sex could evolve into asexualism to preserve human life. In a scenario purly based on sexual reproduction, a woman can only get pregnant by a man once every 9 months; if there was only one woman left in the world humanity would be screwed, however, with one man left in the world there would be oppertunities for at least 20 women to be artificially inseminated per day. Your science may be correct, but logic states that the fate of the human existance would be up to women. Now if women really suck that much, you’re in BIG trouble in a survival scenario.

The opportunity to have the freedom to invent or discover something is what we take for granted  nowadays… ok yeah so men did invent a lot of things… but invention and the ability to understand the mechanism of certain things require education and a lot of invention was made a long time ago… when there was less educational opportunities for girls…why? Cos men made it that way.

I’m somewhat glad we can’t be in combat. That should be the man’s thing.
Basically it is an ancient standard that men go to war because women are worth more reproduction-wise. One man can impregnate HUNDREDS of women, but for the continuation of a species, women only bare one child at a time naturally. So you need more women in your society then men for your race to continue.
Also, women are more prone to infections of the bladder and such when being in foxholes and tight spots like that because we have a vag.

I agree though. It’s really not fair. More women go to college than men do now. It sucks. So now because we fought for all of our equality we are pretty much doing everything we did before AND a shitload more. So did we gain freedom? Yes. But since us women have flooded the job market, now in the middle class, women HAVE to work. We are doing the jobs of two people.

I don’t like boobs, at least not in my body. I never have I wish I had a smaller/flatter chest…. How weird does that make me? I just feel like they’re so effing gross and dirty, and make running uncomfortable….I also hate it when a guy is looking at my chest and not listening to me! I felt a lot more pure and “clean” when I didn’t have these things on. Maybe it is less attractive, but I am not interested in having children whatsoever so please try to understand my point of view.

To be honest I didn’t like this post much, mostly because I think someone should rock BECAUSE of the person they are inside and as a whole, regardless of their gender.

However if you were to ask me, I think women are great because they all tend to be more peaceful than men, TEND to have better manners, and are not always thinking about sex. Again, this is just a generalization.

Just because we are proud of who we are doesn’t mean we don’t recognize men’s contribution to the society. There are little female inventors are mainly due to for years women were denied access to education, but that does not mean women are intellectually inferior than men. Many companies/governments today are led by female leaders.

And just because there’re more male chefs out there doesn’t = man cooks better. It only means that there are many great female cooks decided to not pursue cooking as their career– because many women out there value their families more than careers.

And please stop making hasty generalization. Man Don’t make EVERYTHING! A society needs BOTH men and women to do their jobs to function properly.

I agree with pretty much all of your list. Except for the generalization that boys want us. Some of us really don’t CARE if boys want us, namely myself and my fiancee… But on average, women are much better looking than men, so I’ll consider THAT what you meant to say and we’ll call it even.
