Someday I want a scrapbook room or as I’ve found it to be called through browsing the internet a “scraproom”. I began scrap booking heavily as a teen, have a ton of materials stored in plastic bins, but no room for it as we speak as I live in a tiny one bedroom apartment. So, I can only dream of what my scraproom will look like one day.
My ideal scraproom would have to include the following criteria: at least one wall would be painted a bright color (pink, lime green, or turquoise-or perhaps all three in would be included by incorporating stripes or polka dots or glitter stars on that wall), I would have to have lots of work space and lots of storage space, I would have several different tables to work at-one table would be for cropping photos so I can leave the mess in one place, the other table would be for working on the actual pages. At least one of the table would be high and have a high bar chair at it. I also would have lots of cabinets, most likely white to keep the room looking bright, with lots of draws to hold paper, markers, die cuts, stickers, stamps, glitter stuff, paints, etc. I would have lots of cork boards in the room to decorate and keep me inspired. I would have a specific place to hold my albums so they would never get damaged. The floor of the room would be hardwood with a pretty removable carpet in the middle of the room. I would hit up IKEA to make many of these things happen in my scraproom. Yes, a girl can dream even if this cannot come about for many years!
Here are some pics of scraprooms I found on scrapbook.com that I like a lot!
Someday this dream will come
What does your dream room look like?

I would love a Japanese-themed room with tatami mats, low tables, decorative alcove, a beautiful vintage kimono (preferably one owned by a geisha) on display, and sliding paper doors that lead to a small garden. A girl can dream.

I want an art studio furnished mostly by Crate & Barrel and/or Pottery Barn. It would be big, have lots of storage, and have a bunch of big windows for as much natural light as possible. A loft with concrete or hardwood floors, exposed duct work and white brick walls would be ideal.
I’d want a section of it dedicated to pottery (with a table, wheel, drying racks, and kiln), a section for drawing and painting, a sewing table, a metalworking section and a woodshop with lots of power tools. Then there’d be a office area off to one side that was a little more homey and comfortable to do all my digital art, package all my stuff, and manage the business side of things.

I am actually in the process of creating my dream home office and dream bedroom. Though hundreds of different little projects, I hope it happens before the end of 2010. =)

My dream room would be of comforting, pastel colors (possibly a mint green and sky blue theme or lilac and silver). I’d have a canopy bed with a light-weight, translucent white fabric draping over it. I’d probably have hardwood flooring with a large, contemporary-styled rug in the middle. I’d decorate the room with colorful floral and landscape photography and paintings, collages and paper lanterns. In the corner I’d have a mini office area with small filing cabinets and a desk for my laptop.

I have 3 dream rooms.
1. a beautiful dance studio. Hardwood floors, floor to ceiling mirror wall, a dance bar, a huge closet for costumes and dance shoes amazing.
2. a library, exactly like the one in beauty and the beast lol!
3. art studio with everything I need.
and my secret 4th dream room would be a walk in closet and shoe room.

a pink wall, a white piano, white window frames, a crystal pendant, Hello Kitty bed sheets, … a white dest, a notice board with my polaroidsssss and a pink or red notebook. <3

The last pic is pretty much my set-up
) Clean yet inspiring. A scraproom doesn’t just have to be for scrapbooking, but crafting in general. Either way, it’s fun to have your own space!

my heaven will look like that. soooo many drawers and cubbies…!! <3

Looks like PBTeen explosion o.o
I like the blue and green bubble lights, but that’s about all i like with the scrapbook rooms. I like my room sort of mimicking the scrapbook idea, but downplaying bright colors. I hang stars i made onto my fan, have a Venetian star hanging from my ceiling, and a whole wall covered in a collage of photos. And i have string lights going on, my favorite part.

A master bedroom with clippings of my favorite artist(s) and books piled on each other.

I’m immensely jealous! How perfectly gorgeous! My ideal room would be a room full of cute cubbies to hold all of my crafting supplies and it would have a computer in a nook in the wall (and while I’m dreaming it will be a touch screen) and speakers in the wall that can hook into the PC so I can listen to music or play a video while I sew, glue, etc. And there would be a gorgeous table in the middle where I could spread all of my supplies and sigh… *walks off dreamily imagining an adorable house*

I have so many dream rooms i’d rather have a dream house. But definitely, a room specially for my library. my own personal space to get away to. Set like those movie sets from Pride and Prejudice / Lost In Austen era. Sorry, can’t think of the dates right now.
Definitely having as much natural light as possible. With earth colors on the walls, mostly green and off white with the occasional feature wall of brown or something. Clean cut lines with the odd piece of random furniture….
oh i could go on and on!
i’d just get a dream house for myself when i’m older and richer

They’re sooo cute! I’m a heavy scrapbooker myself, but I don’t think I’d want my whole room based on that.

Vintage meets antique meets modern. I like dark wall colors. I’m eventually going to inherit a wooden antique bedroom set and a really high antique mirror with wood surrounding it. I want large windows and high ceilings. Vintage art on the walls. Probably a bed drapery thing and a fireplace. That’s just the bedroom too. =)

This post got me thinking…I love to create collage, but my biggest deterrent is that I’m always either working out of a dusty porch, a cluttered spare room, or just whatever floor space I can hijack from angry housemates.
My dream house would DEF. include a scraproom of sorts, but instead of the girlie-cutesy theme, I’d have the walls plastered over with torn-out inspiration or artist prints, and the whole place would be more utilitarian–well-organized, with lots of super-practical tools and large, clean workspaces. I’m way stoked just thinking about it!

1. An all rock n’ roll hall of fame type-room. I would have all the walls painted black or dark red and have pictures of all my fave rock artists(The Who, Def Leppard, Concrete Blonde, The Cranberries, Theatre of Tragedy, Nightwish, and alot of others heehee). I would have old guitars and a space with a whole bunch of instruments. I would have a huge CD pile and a juke box and musical notes hanging from the ceiling.
2. A zen room. One that is painted olive green and has rice paper walls. I would have a huge but low to the floor bed and lots of plants. I would have hard wood floors and a mini rock pond or koi pond.
3. A cute style room. It would be painted pink, orange, yellow, or green. Maybe all of them ;D so sort of like yours, lots of different coloured polka dots. I’d have a shelf on a wall where I’d keep every shade of nail polish possible. I would save one wall (Or maybe my doors) for my friends to paint on and sign it. I would have one huge wall that loooks like a scrap book (Sort of like yours again only its a big wall painted to look like a scrapbook xD) where I would post a whole bunch of my fave memories and pictures.
So yeah thats quite a variation hey? It shows all sides of me. I am a rocker/calm person/sweet girly girl type.

@ToxicSweetners@xanga - I love yours
Pretty much most of the stuff i’d put in my dream house
‘cept, I don’t really want a zen room.. rather a library

also, i’d have a room that had a “sticky” wall (if it’s been invented) where it’s just permanently sticky/unstickable so I can stick whatever nice piece of paper/picture/page on.
this is of course, in addition to my dream house. which i realise, has to have a very palace-like feel in the front room/where people walk in from.
if you look here – http://theportofino.blogspot.com/
and click on Renoir or Michaelangelo, those would probably be my dream home layout. it’s just so nice and open!
why am i going on and on on here?

@cheskaypinay@xanga - Thanks! Yeah a library would be cool, I have about 4 different bookshelves around my house right about now.

some of those rooms are awesome.
I enjoy the plain and simple… so my room with its darker blue with white accents is the perfect room for me

I can hear my sister echoing your exact desire for a scrapbook room to fit all her scrapbook making kits and other odds and ends in. She is one of the biggest scrap bookers I know, and only just barely moved into a house with an extra room even possible for something like this. As for me I would love to have my own library!
