When I saw Adam Lambert performing on the AMA’s, the first thing I noticed (well, besides the fact that he was simulating a, ahem, BJ on national TV) were the silver spikes on his silver blazer. Just on one shoulder. Hmmm, interesting.
Then Fergie and Rihanna showed up with the same sharp swatches, also displayed on their left shoulders.
Is this the new thing? And why only one shoulder? Would you try this trend, Lovelies?

I feel like I’d hurt myself wearing something like that.

Ehe, Rihanna’s shoes are meant for kicking (:

ive seen it somewhere else.. but its just an upgraded version of bedazzling. and those spike studs, which are usually used on belts or jackets sparingly.

Yuck, no thank you. I’d probably maim my face if I had spikes coming out of my shoulder.

@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - ’like’

It’s on the left shoulder because in pre-gunpowder times, warriors carried shields in their left hands and swords or other weapons in their rights, so while they could completely cover their right side, head, and most of their torso, their left shoulder remained exposed. The spikes were supposed to deflect sword blows and cut wooden clubs, etc.
… Clearly, I dig it.

No thanks…

they hate hugs!

I’m not famous to be able to wear that.
I don’t go to the places they go. I go to school. I wouldn’t wear shoulder spikes during school.
guest
they would be cooler if they had shoulders that looked like the shoulders in world of warcraft with spikes on them
guest
If anybody likes this they should check out The Twentyten’s 2nd collection on their website. They have some pretty awesome stuff.
guest
it looks like rihanna’s dress has all-over spikes.
don’t hug her in that!
guest
I LOVE IT. OMFG.
Especially the ones on the blazer. HAWT!
guest
@KimisBarbie@xanga - giggle.
I like the look on the women actually. I’d wear it if I had somewhere to wear it. I don’t like it on the guy.
guest
Looks like anti-mugging device to me. Keeps the bag from slipping, doubles as a great weapon.
guest
I actually think Fergie looks hot. When in moderation, it could look pretty bad-ass
guest
Nope don’t like this one, reminds me of punk rockers in the 80′s and they STILL scare me (kidding) …

Some people are into the durian fruit look. Haha.
guest
Adam Lambert would start that trend. I like them, but I wouldn’t wear them.

Hot!! i like. dont know if i’d do it though…
guest
It’s really fascinating, but it looks almost like they stole some armor off of some MMORPG character and only got away with one shoulder.
guest
@cinnamontoastsalinda@xanga - Then again, if you did wear them would the school allow you? Haha, doubt that’d be a yes, schools are so strict anymore |:
I personally do not like this one bit, I mean, it looks alright on Adam Lambert, but not digging it on the girls one bit.

I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

@lyssagotpaid@xanga - Ha, probably not! They’d think it was a weapon, haha.
guest

WTF???

@Finity@xanga - Awesome! I knew it was more than a coincidence!

@wingedferret@xanga - haha I agree.
guest
It would be cool if it was some inside hollywood thing that ment that the parties wearing it were interested in being with the same gender. Please please please be true…. (Rihanna).
guest
Maybe so they don’t fall asleep, sure would hurt.
tulip / 11 posts
i’d love to try it.
guest
It looks alright, I guess, but shit, it looks more dangerous than fashionable! I’d be afraid of like, accidentally falling asleep and being impaled.
guest
@Finity@xanga - Interesting. I thought it must be just a natural tendency, like how most people choose to get lip rings, nose rings, and whatnot on their left side. I boldly chose my right side just for the sake of being different, but it didn’t feel right after a while, lol. Really digging this look. High fashion’s always interesting.

1 i’d probably hurt myself
2 i think it looks pretty stupid.
