@dancesmilelaughwithme - omg thank you. sometimes lovelyish makes me wonder if the authors even bothered going to elementary school.

I love the color but honestly the shape of the dress is unflattering. It gives the model a boxy shape. You could try to pair a black belt to cinch the waist but the problem is the embellishment in the front: I think it’s tacky and it would prob get in the way with the belt idea. But i think the length is appropriate for family, especially if you’re on the shorter side. I would say it wouldn’t be if it were for say an office party or something.

The black and wine color is gorgeous and completely appropriate though. With simple accesories like a thin bracelet or watch, it would be very nice if you do decide to stick with this dress.

yay! Definately. That whole outfit is great. Do the dark stockings with any dress during the winter and if you are buying that dress get a wrap around black belt to break up all of that color so it doesnt drown out your figure.

i think it really depends HOW dressed up your family gets, because this seems pretty dressy to me for a family get together.

Yay!  It would look nice for the holidays.  It’s all up to how you look in it, ultimately.   Tights or leggings would make it look even better (though the black makes the dress look a bit too dark…try going for some brighter or lighter colors?).

It depends on what your personality is. But I think the outfit overall is really cute.

Dressing up? Definitely! I think it’s sad that not enough people dress up in society. They should everyday. And this is why living in Manhattan in your college years is simply amazing. Fashion is everywhere 24/7. NYC breathes fashion.
