I love this… Think I should get it as a tattoo? Looking for opinions. I’m thinking maybe on my back, and maybe 4 and a half inches tall…
It really reminds me of me and Sean a lot! And I was thinking after we have kids, I’d put their names under it. I only have one tattoo right now, a blue butterfly on my right hip. So, what do ya think?

I think it’s pretty. Tattoos should be about what YOU like, not what we do. Do what you want. =)
daisy / 526 posts
It -is- pretty, yes. But you shouldn’t be asking the interwebs if you should get it. Tattoos are a personal choice and you shouldn’t have to have people back you up on it. If you’re not sure, don’t get it until you are.
guest
I think it depends on how big you’re getting it. Some girls can pull off a tattoo that big, some girls can’t.
guest
its very pretty ! but i would think about it a little bit more . and don’t just go by what everyone on here says – its your body and your decision . but its a pretty tattoo !
guest
I think it’s artistic. But in order for you to not regret it later, it’d better mean something deeply to you.
guest
I honestly hate angel tattoos… I find them to be so… meh.
But it’s your choice.

Hey, look at you on Lovelyish

Is it what you want? If the answer is yes, go for it.

I’m so glad it’s not the little angel wings on shoulder blades one. Those annoy me.
guest
I think it depends on how big it’s going to be.
but my opinion shouldn’t matter, it’s your body; do with it as you please.
guest
I think it’s a pretty tattoo, but doing it 4-5 inches tall doesn’t seem big enough because then you won’t be able to see the details. Looks cool in black and white, maybe try to do it in color though?
hydrangea / 98 posts
I think it is beautiful, but maybe you could get it done temporary first just to be sure you really like it enough to keep it forever. You might want to consider that it will change the way you dress forever too. I mean it’s all or nothing with a tat like that. You will have to be sure that every dress/shirt you buy will either completely cover it or have an opening that shows it completely because just showing part of it will probably look weird.

the art is reallyyy pretty and me likey. but maybe not as a tattoo imo. but that’s just me.
guest
i don’t like it but that’s because its not my style i guess. but if YOU like it, then you should go ahead and get it. i like how it has some meaning. i hate people who go and get tattoos just because it’ll look “cool”. tattoos should have meaning. good luck!
guest
I really like it but it seems like a lot of detail for such a small tattoo. You may want to get it a little bigger so that the details show up better.
guest
Hellz yes i would!
guest
no!
tattoos look utterly disgusting
you will regret it later!

Imagine being 80 and having that tattoo. Still want it?

I love it, lol…but I already told you that. =p

@coffeeishappinessinacup@xanga - Close minded much?
@GrassUnderMyFeet@xanga - She’ll be an awesome old person with a tattoo, so what? And by then there will be a lot more things out there to get rid of tattoos, if she wanted to do so.
guest
From my personal standpoint, go for it. Chicks with tats are hot, and so are rib pieces…just a suggestion.

@seriously_meredith@xanga - Do you have any idea what the best size would be? I just have to keep it as small as I can for hubby to agree to it, lol.

@weare_weare@xanga - I tried being open minded once but my brains kept falling out ;P <– that face means this comment is not serious.

@coffeeishappinessinacup@xanga - Lol…

All depends on you, of course. But I think getting tattoos of a relationship is not the greatest idea because you might be married and madly in love right now but you knows that might be over tommorrow.
You’re not a celebrity so this might not apply to you, but shouldn’t we learn from other people’s mistakes? Whenever a celeb gets a tattoo with the name of their lover their relationship falls apart pretty much within two weeks.
So I think you should really think about it.
guest
If it means enough to you, then yeah, you should. Who cares what everyone else thinks? Tattoos should be personal and meaningful to you. I say, if you want it, and it’s something you know you’ll want on you forever, then go for it.
guest
i like tattoos and i have one myself, getting several soon, thats why i think if you ask things like “should i get this” or “what you think will be ok” and things like that better dont get a tattoo
orchid / 111 posts
@weare_weare@xanga - *shrug* Makes most people I know get turned off from the idea of getting a tattoo.
guest
I like tattoos. I don’t have any myself but I do find them attractive.
But then I just saw a documentary on people regretting their tattoo and it made me realize… I should think very carefully.
This tattoo will show when you’re in your wedding dress. Will you be okay with it? If you’re already married, and are okay if it shows when you’re wearing a strapless dress, then go for it.
daffodil / 1540 posts
i like it, and clearly it means something to you, so i say go for it.
guest
i like the design, just make sure you go to a good tattoo place because the portrait is very detailed and you would want it to look exactly like that. Also dont make it too big cuz that is tacky and a hassle
guest
i’m just worried that the tattoo artist won’t get all the details right.
daisy / 630 posts
they’ll probably want to do it bigger, like around 6 inches, to get all the details in.
It’s going to take at least 3 hours, probably longer.
and it’s going to cost a lot.
If none of these things bother you, then get it.
just make sure you go to someone who is really good.
guest
@coffeeishappinessinacup@xanga -
get over it…it’s her body and she can do what she wants with it. If that’s all you were going to say why did you even comment?? Lameo.
guest
You should most certainly get it. Seriously, it’s beautiful.
Yet see if you can get it customized a little bit first, that way it would be unique like yourself =)
guest
@coffeeishappinessinacup@xanga -
mmkay well I’m just telling you my opinion take it or leave it.. And just to let you know tatoos are becoming very popular so I hope you plan on getting used to it! And there is treatment you can get to remove the tatoo.
guest
@britt1511@xanga - she asked us “what we think” so I said what I think. You can take it or leave it. I don’t think my one opinion will change her mind or whomever else who wants to get a tattoo.

oh and just to let you know on the fact that coffee is not happiness in a cup it’s nasty and makes your breath bad and your teeth turn yellow. Eww gross…
magnolia / 1369 posts
It’s up to you but I think shit like that is ugly.
guest
@britt1511@xanga - so? that doesn’t mean I have to like them!
daisy / 636 posts
i think it looks absolutely ridiculous.
guest
Dude it’s your body. If you like it, GO for it. Just think long and hard before. I think it’s cute.
guest
I really like it but I think you should get it smaller
guest
@britt1511@xanga - well that’s your opinion and I respect that but coffee only gives you bad breath and turns your teeth yellow if your an dunce who doesn’t brush their teeth!(heck anything will make your breath stink & your teeth yellow if you don’t brush!) & have you used creamer in your coffee? because coffee is only gross when it’s black once you add creamer it tastes like dessert!
guest
Where on your back? Like.. tramp stamp, or up between your shoulder blades?
Did you have this drawn specifically for you? If not, it could be cool to have someone actually draw the two of you using that picture as a reference. It might turn out a little different, and you might like it even more.
sunflower / 266 posts
its really nice, very pretty.
magnolia / 1354 posts
It looks really nice. Did you draw it?

If this is what you want then get it. You may ask us for our opinion, but we don’t know you like your close friends know you so we don’t know what’s best for you. I hope you do what you want to do.

@cornyonacob@xanga - me too… I’ll have to ask around I guess to see who’s any good

Good luck finding a really good tattoo artist who can capture that portrait as close to the original…on your skin.
it’s very romantic.

ok.
I found this picture a couple of years ago, and just loved it.
Now…. I’m a bit over it. But check it out:

heres the truth: modification is a personal journey and if you are not 100% sure then do not do it. Do not ask other folks opinion because in 20 years they don’t have to live with it, you do.
that is the advice of a modified gal
4 piercings (no sissy ear project either), 7 tattoos and 4 scarification pieces
nobody lives with the ones I regret but me.
guest
It’s glamorous
guest
@MsKittyCatty@xanga - I think the bigger the better so that you are able to include as much detail as possible. I would suggest taking this picture to the tattoo artist and see if they can draw it out in the size you want and see how the details look.
guest
No.
guest
As long as it has a deeper meaning than just “I think it’s pretty!”, and you know you won’t regret it later in life, go for it.
guest
I think it’s really feminine and pretty. If you like it, get it! Don’t go by what others say because you might regret it
daisy / 661 posts
i think it ‘s beautiful.
but it’s so intricate.
guest
It’s beautiful artwork, but I’m gonna say no for a tattoo.
Angels are overrated on your body these days, especially on the back.
Besides, unless you’re tattooing something about a FICTIONAL
boy on you, or your SON, I wouldn’t do it.
magnolia / 1369 posts
i think that it’s really gorgeous but i don’t think that you should ask for our opinions. if you like it then you should get it.
guest
i doubt they could do it only 4 inches, due to all the detail..so you may have to consider if you’re willing to do it if it is fairly large.
it is nice though.
orchid / 177 posts
It’s not bad, but it isn’t something I would get.
guest
i don’t like this, i hate tacky tattoos. i’m sorry. but you should get whatever you want.
guest
I am one of those crazy people who ended up getting a tattoo of my husband’s name (on my butt!) He got mine on his too, it started out as a joke, but we decided to do it for valentine’s day last year. I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone though, it’s a lifelong decision to make. I’m not a particular fan of the artwork itself, but all that matters is what you think. I think you should do something highly unique, well-thought out and personal. I have a hard time respecting people who just walk into a tattoo shop and pick a design off the wall.
And who cares if you have tattoos if you’re 70, nothing looks good when you’re 70.
guest
My dad is a tattoo artist so… take this however but just know that I typically know what I’m talking about. You can choose whether or not to listen.
-Do not get something that involves a boyfriend or a husband because if you guys ever break up or divorce you’ll immediately regret that tattoo. You may say that you’ll love each other forever but things change and people change. Also, you guys were only married in March of this year….so I’d really reconsider until the “newlywed phase” is over. If you’re so gun-ho then at least wait 5 years.-Honestly, it’s quite corny and if you don’t know good artists it WILL look like crap. My sister got an angel tattoo in black and white and it turned out horrendous. You need to research for the best black and white portrait artist in your area. DO NOT judge artists on their prices. You may save a few bucks but why would you risk having a piece of crap on your back?-4 inches is definitely not big enough to get in details and when you get older things WILL start to blur and fade into each other and then the details will be diminished and you WILL be left with an ugly blob on your back.
If you were to get that I would definitely get it a lot bigger and I suggest your ribs. Yes, it’s a very sensitive place and it will probably be a pain but I can’t help but feel that there’s nothing tackier (not including tribal…you’d be surprised how many tattoo artists absolutely hate tribal designs) than having a small (and poorly done) tattoo on just one shoulder blade. On your rib it would look a lot more feminine and although you don’t get to show it off as much it’ll look beautiful and there’ll be more room to make it longer and have better details.
But…that’s just my opinion.

It’s really pretty!
guest
If you have to ask someone then you arent really sure enough to get it…although i disagree that all tattoos need meaning…it’s okay just to get it because you like the image, not because it represents this or that…you only live once.
guest
Oh wow, that’s beautiful!!
guest
4 and a half inches won’t be big enough to put much detail in it at all. In general, for a face to have detail that you’ll be able to make out in 5 years or so, it has to be at least the size of a quarter! So it’ll need to be bigger.
guest
That is a beautiful piece of art! Just be sure, if you do get it, that you go to a reeeeeeaaaallly good tattoo artist. See lots of examples of their work. I’ve seen way too many permanent disasters online where the concept was good but the artist did a bad job copying it.
You know, the usual clawlike hands, scary faces (you know, where they almost got it but got a few things just a little off that changed the look entirely?), lumpy torsos, spaghetti legs, shading that makes bodies look flat, lumpy, or childishly-drawn. This would be gorgeous as a tattoo, but it wouldn’t be very forgiving to an artist that had any weaknesses in their skill set at all. It’s not the usual butterfly-with-flowery-swirls or whatever. As a regular artist, I can say that it would not be very easy to copy, especially when you can’t erase… You may have to pay more to get someone good, but it’d be worth it.
Here’s why:http://tattoofailure.com/tattoo/8389-yeah-dude-i-can-copy-tha
http://www.shipmentoffail.com/fails/2008/03/permanent-fail/
http://hubpages.com/hub/TattooIdeasPortraits
The last link shows that there are artists who can do a great job making a beautiful copy and not make your skin ugly!
Personally, I don’t go for tattoos because I’d never be sure enough about something to permanently put it on my skin and they can cause cancer or make skin cancer hard to find and I’m at high risk for skin cancer to begin with due to family history and skin type and a lot of blistering burns as a child- thanks, parents. X.x (Dermatologist told me the problem is black pigmented areas absorbing more sunlight, causing a melanoma, but not being able to see it because the area is already tattooed black. Soo, no tats for me.) I hope you make the right decision for you. I really like that picture. I’d at least print it out and put it on my wall if there was a slightly larger version! It’s really sweet.
guest
honestly it comes down to what you want. But HONESTLY you will get a lot of shit for it. i mean its an angel tattoo. Its not original. and whether anyone wants to belive it or not, EVERYBODY AGES and when you turn 65, especially if the tattoo is large, IT WILL SAG. sag sag saggy angel
guest
I think it’s very pretty, and your back would be a good placing so that it’s not hard to cover up. And if you can relate to it then it’s a good idea.
