As I was reading one of the many featured blogs on Lovelyish, this post by meowmeowkimmaee came to my attention. She explains about some of the many fashion trends that are going on throughout the world and I’ve decided that I would make one too. I’ve decided that I will break it up into categories so I could get others opinion on what they think.

I hate giant, colorful, skater shoes. I think it gives whoever is wearing them clown feet.

what’s going on with that chick’s eyelashes?
i’m getting kind of tired of skinny jeans, i like bootleg jeans. i wish i could pull of nikes =/ i like scarves, converses, and plaid enough.
guest
MMMMMM NIKES! <33
sunflower / 382 posts
Nikes would look good if they were more subtle with the colours. Some of them look like, as algebrai pointed out, look like clown feet.
Umm, I like the flannel shirts and Converse
guest
i like skinny jeans, and i had a reverse bob for awhile. but that last picture is freaking creepy. i’m not loving the nikes.

lol, so hypebeasts and disgusting plaid are in.
and wow, ew @ eyelashes. who picked that picture D:

I am sooooo over plaid. When I went back to school, literally everyone wore plaid. I’m not even exaggerating. There were barely any people wearing solid colors ! I liked it a lot before, but the constant wear of it is really making me hate it.
Skinny jeans, converse, and scarves are all good, though. They never get old ! I personally hate bright colored shoes. They’re cheap and tacky looking.
And Michelle Phan is AMAZING.

i agree with skinnies. thats about it.
guest
Agreed to them all!!!

Technically, those aren’t skinny jeans, they’re straight-leg (There’s a difference, I would know, because I had to special order my AE straight legs from Canada). I love straight leg because it’s way more flattering and they look less trendy than skinny jeans. Plaid shirts are good, except every thirteen year old now has a brightly colored plaid shirt that they wear with their skinny jeans. Seriously, mix it up!
guest
AGREE
minus skinny jeans!
guest
Oh, I’ve become mainstream-ish without knowing?
guest
i definitely like too
orchid / 149 posts
I wish there was a little more variety in it. These all seem like basics that almost everyone has in their closet now adays.
guest
the reverse bob (like you have pictured) is out and those are not skinny jeans, they’re straight leg.
guest
I like these things but I don’t really see them as current trends. Scarfs, jeans, converse, plaid? It’s all sort of a classic style that’s never really gone away.
guest
I likes :3.
guest
i think these were the “current trends” two years ago.
now? ripped jeans, assymetrial tops, bib necklaces, (fake) fur, leather (esp jackets!), over the knee boots and booties etc.

I love skinny jeans!!

I was in Europe for about 2 months. Skinny jeans are HUGE there. So are converse shoes and SCARFS! I had to buy myself a few even if no one wears them here. They look good with just about anything..except in florida lol
sunflower / 271 posts
I agree that they are in, but they all have been in for a while now.
The bob seems to be the newest one though.
Make up I wear it, but they lazy way, I hate exercizing and being human in general with make-up on and with the winter weather coming up it is kind of annoying.
Skinny jeans I find slightly boring because they have been the in style of jeans pretty much for a few years straight I need to see something new in the leg department.

@missedout_onlife@xanga - I thought skinny jeans were huge everywhere. Jeggings are kind of the taking over Britain at the moment though.
guest
@algebraicdisco@xanga - haha i totally agree with this. I stick with neutral (read: black, white, grey) colors for shoes.
Also, i personally don’t like skinny jeans, never have. I don’t really like bellbottoms either, esp. not the ones with the extreme flair at the bottom. Because your calves are just naturally smaller than your thighs (well, in most people), you don’t need bellbottoms – the material will not be tight and still give a similar effect. I don’t know how to explain. But i prefer straight jeans because it looks more balanced, as opposed to skinny jeans. I don’t like them too tight either. Nice ‘n’ loose. The shirts are ok though in my book. Overall, fashions are looking more outrageous and odd these days. Everything is colorful and funky it seems. It’s ok tho. Because some people can rock the look. If you can, kudos. I just stick to my simple clothes. i know that i lack fashion. one thing i really love is 3/4 length sleeve shirts that are fairly long. And i <3 jackets. That’s like an indisposable accessory. =D
Oh bobs are nice. I like my hair layered (because all 1 length doesn’t suit me) and medium length..can’t deal with long and don’t like it too short…
guest
Dislike nikes, converse are ok in moderation
guest
I only agree with the plaid shirt, natural make-up (but I still use my eyeliner…LOVE it!) and scarfs (I love scarfs). Everything else is…well a no (bob) or ugly (skinny jeans and neon colored shoes
)
guest
The nikes are okay, but I myself love converse. And I love scarfs! Oh, and I have a bob
guest
These trends are still present in Australia but I think most people have gotten over them. There seems to be more girls wearing long tights in place of jeans. Also, there is a revival of vintage.
Here’s a link of what I’m talking about.

I like everything but the scarf. It’s fine when it’s cold. The shoes are Ok, but I would only wear them around the house or to the park with my son.
guest
I like them, too, but they’re basically all age-old classics that nearly everyone likes.
guest
i hate those scarves! and skinny jeans! XP
the only thing i really like are the converse, i guess.
sunflower / 477 posts
you have good taste. im glad somebody likes plaid shirts. when i made my post on it some ppl flipped out on me and called it stupid
guest
Umm, I’ve been wearing plaid shirts since middle school, so I don’t consider them a “trend,” I just happen to really like them a lot…though I probably wouldn’t like them as much if I didn’t have a brother who liked them, and then gave them to me when they didn’t fit him anymore
I will never understand skinny jeans. I don’t think they look good on ANYONE.

I don’t really wear sneakers except to the gym or to go running but I do like nikes, I love skinny jeans…but everything else mehh…not a fan = (
guest
Makeup is always in trend. And in my opinion only, those colorful Nike’s are so ghetto.
guest
Looks too conventional
guest
Great minus converse. Those shoes aren’t good for your feet.
guest
I really like the bob hair cut aswell.
I wish i had the balls to give in and cut my long hair.
It looks good on so many people .
I love it
guest
all i can say about this post is
that picture of that girl at the bottom just made me sh*t my pants.
guest
I agree.
guest
I’m not liking any of these
guest
I agree.
guest
try makin your own trend instead of dressing exactly like everyone else -.-
magnolia / 1354 posts
I like all the trends you listed above except for the Nike shoes. In LOVE with scarf accessories!
rose / 847 posts
I like skinny jeans, and plaid is okay in small doses.
I’ve recently taken to natural-looking makeup – only foundation and some light blush to get me by.
guest
i’m not into the bob and the shoes. all the others are ok with me.
guest
I like the scarf idea. I tend to always top my outfit off with a scarf. It does add a certain flair and just spices up the casual look. As for skinny jeans, I prefer a modest shade of a very deep black or grey. Plaids are pretty, I usually like pairing them off with a solid colored bottom to bring attention to the top instead. Well, that’s me; I subsribe to the idea of minimalism and less is more. Topman is more of my style though.
BUT I don’t get the bob! Something about it screams diva to me for an odd reason. Long natural locks has always appealed to me more.
guest
I really like flannel shirts. Always have. Mine are huge though because they belong to my husband. I wear them with pearls.
guest
I hate the plaid, the skinny jeans, and anything eye-popping neon.
guest
I do agree with you on all of the trends you picked.
But that chick, with the eyelashes needs to cool it. Those spiders look like theyre going to come and devour me.Just sayin.
guest
I strongly agreeeee
guest
how very original…
guest
I agree so hard. We have very similar tastes.
Recommend me some other trends you like, if you have time?
guest
I love my all*stars and could not give a flying fuck if other people like them or not.
guest
Plaid isn’t really me. But, I do the skinny jeans because they look great with my chucks and nikes!
I’m getting into make-up because…well I wake up in the wee hours so I can make it to class on time. So, yay makeup!
guest
Plaid shirts are the only thing I agree with here.
guest
I disagree with all. except for the shoes. You can never go wrong with shoes.
on the contrary.
Skinny jeans hurt (with guys at least)
Those weird scarves defeat their purpose. Which is to keep you warm. Plus I see some chicks wear those in the summer. How dumb.
Make up: less is more. For example, the girl with the bob. Wayyy to much makeup.
Did she really think she looked cool when she put that on? All I can think is clown. clown. clown. joker. clown.
The bob itself… I’m indifferent towards.
guest
Only felt that plaid/ flannel shirt, scarves and make up will never be out of fashion. what about loafers and boatshoes? vintage are just becoming the in thing nowadays. now its more like ripped and washed jeans that seems to be in, come along with studs and shoulder pad tops/ dresses back in fashion. -.-

I think these trends are ok, and everybody just needs to know what works on them – with their body and personal style.
I got a pair of Nike Eclipse shoes (kinda like the ones on the right here, except even lower on the sides) last weekend and LOVE them! So comfortable!! Mine are more understated colors though – sage/olive green suede parts, and a magenta swoosh.
guest
i like skinny jeans and converses. thats it.
i like nikes are ugly, literally eyeryone is wearing the flannel shirts, i don’t like scarves, and i think bob cuts can be kinda boyish =\ but that doesnt apply if your can pull it off right.
the makeup looks nice also
guest
Ohhh I totally agree!
guest
agreed with skinny jeans and scarves <3
guest
So, in other words, you’d kind of like to go for 90′s grunge chic? Nothing wrong with that.
guest
Rice Bunny!!!!
guest
i like ‘em
guest
Skinny jeans!
guest
Disagree about Nike and Converse. Both are owned by Nike and their manufacturing practices are HIGHLY unethical.
guest
HUGE eye surgery is not that fashionable imo
guest
dont really like the nike’s but.. i do like the converse =]
plaid shirt… yum! .
skinny jeans… are my life!
i have a bob right now..but im really wishing i had long hair!
guest
terrible mascara in the last pic! the neon sneakers are quite hipster but that’s not for everyone….
guest
skinny jeans and a plaid top! cute!
guest
