Don’t know what eye shadow shade you should wear? Try these color matches to make your eyes pop:
BROWN EYES
can get away with wearing a multitude of shades, but for a truly eye-popping experience, choose a plum shade. If you want to enhance the gold flecks in your sparklers, try an eye shadow with a golden shimmer.

HAZEL EYES: To bring out the green in hazel eyes, wear burgundy. The contrast between your eye colour and the deep eye shadow will emphasize your peepers. If you’d rather draw attention to the brown in your eyes, opt for an earthier mocha hue.
BLUE EYES: For mesmerizing baby blues, stick to brown eye shadows. But if you feel like something more fun, cool silvers are equally sexy.
What colors do you pair with your eyes?

Way to leave out green eyes
But really…I never know what eye shadow to use… The husband likes none, so I tend to wear nutral colors if any…but I am an eyeliner junkie

No kidding, where are the green eyes?

I mostly always do a brown and black smokey ( I have blue eyes) …but sometimes I switch it up with color!
guest
you’re right about the blue eyes! i usually do wear browns and sometimes silver. i wear colours on occassion, but they don’t bring out my eyes as much.
guest
Mine are green/brown hazel and if I wear eyeshadow, it’s usually shimmer gold. But I’ll try the burgundy thing((:
guest
i never thought about silver, awesome-ness!

Green eyes look really good with purple, mauve and plum shades. Silver/white makes a good “pop” color at the inside of your tearduct. I have green eyes so… Haha.
guest
what about gray & green eyes?
guest
I have a weird color of a bright-ish light-ish green and Idk what to use!

I’d say one of the best things to do is look at a color wheel and try something on the opposite side of your eye color.
For greens, light purples and pinks look good, but you can also try a bit of a shiny bronze look to make the green really pop out.

I’m blue eyed, and I hate the fact that I can’t get away with any color besides frickin brown and neutrals. So, I put in brown contacts.
guest
I heard greens and blues also play up brown eyes
guest
i don’t wear eyeshadow, but… okay. lol.

I have an interesting shade of brown colour of eye, and while I’m sure plum would look fabulous… The grey shades I use already make them pop. (: Great post though.

I think it also has to do with skintone, because if you’re asian, and you use plum shades, you’ll look like someone punched you in the eye.

My eyes are hazel and I tend to wear shades of purple a lot of the time. Or, if I am bold, very vibrant colors. It also helps that I am very pale and can usually pull it off. I suppose, really, you need to really look at your eye color AND skin tone, as someone here mentioned, when choosing shadows. Just because it looks good on one person with green eyes, doesn’t mean it automatically looks good on everyone with them.

i have brown eyes and i do wear a lot of different shades depending on the outfit and the mood i’m in and i love wearing the plum color.
i wanted to let you you know that i’m always looking forward to your posts. you give really great beauty advices. thanks.

what about green eyes?

I pretty much stick with neutral browns, even with brown eyes. When I want to play them up if I’m going out or something, I’ll use a purple liquid liner and deep, smokey purples/plums.
Of course, I don’t necessarily choose colors that are going to call a lot of attention because I wear thick black plastic framed glasses. I opt instead for neutral smokey colors with liner and shading in order to make them stand out from behind the glasses.
It would be interesting to have a post about eye make-up and glasses… hint hint?

i have brown eyes and i like using a variety of shades… i usually try gray smokey shades, light tan, shimmery white shades, etc. i like changing it up as much as possible

actually i have brown eyes but no golden color to them……….i have red toned brown eyes….what should i do then ….i use plum but it doesnt do much….no pop or what ev

I have green eyes. Usually I stick with brown hues to keep a natural look, but when going out or feeling like mixing things up I use green, purple and pink shadows (not together) and I ALWAYS wear black eyeliner and sometimes and a touch of black shadow at the outside corners of my eyes for a more smokey/dramatic effect.
guest
I have brown eyes and tan/olive skin. I like plums and deep browns with warm neutrals. Deep burgundy works sometimes. I’ve tried grays and blues, but these don’t work well unless they are almost black and paired with neutrals. I have a hard time with light grays and blues. This is probably because of my skin color and black hair.
guest
Depends on skin tone too.
guest
Uhm..just a bit of black eye shadow.
guest
I’ve heard this before.

People always think that black eyes are included in the brown category, but I assured you it’s not.
People say I have brown eyes – but my eyes are black… there’s no specks of gold in it at all!
guest
i was always told that if you have blue eyes, then to wear a purple eyeshadow. i’ve never listened though. i’ve always loooovedddd brown eyeshadow for my blue eyes. i’m glad to know i’m doing something right! i put on a gold base, then wear a shimmer brown over top, if i’m feeling daring that day then i smudge a little black around the crease in my eyelid to accent them.
guest
i’ve never attempted eyeshadow. just eyeliner.
guest
I read this because I have green eyes, thanks assholes.
guest
actually blues and greens look good with a wide range of colors, i think the author’s attempting to give us a :basic: go-to color… I have greenish-blue eyes… I wear a lot of colors but get the most compliments when I wear purples, bronzes, silver or pinks… so green/blue…maybe try those!
guest
Green also goes well with gold. But it must be an actual gold, not a yellow or orange tone.
guest
I have lite blue eyes and I find that a classic pink color or even a rosebud pink makes my eyes really brighten up!
guest
where’s the green eyes?! lol
guest
@DeepOceanEyes@xanga - thank you, what about black eyes?
