it’s your party, wear whatever you want to wear.  What you wear to the party is going to be determined by what kind of party you are having.  I had a casual dinner at my apartment.  I didn’t buy anything new and I doubt I got dressed up.

Go something knee-length and neutral coloured.
Don’t go for white but do go for something tasteful, not too grand.

Wear something inviting, that shows your personality. If your on a budget, you might be able to go and buy accessories insead of a new dress, or go to a discount sales like Ross. I bough a Betsy Johnson dress there for  $1.75 . And I love it!

Haha, it’s on my birthday! A sundress would be really cute (unless the weather is bad) or even slacks and a really pretty blouse. Whatever you feel comfortable with and congrats on your engagement! =]

I think a sundress would be great. Check out modcloth.com. They have some really cute, unique and affordable dresses.

A short little black dress always does the job. If all else fails, have a backup.

A little black dress is good for any event, you can accessorize it to your taste and it will be perfect.

a full a-line skirt and delicate-looking sleeveless blouse and low heels is always a nice combination that looks classy!  if you’ll be outside in grass, maybe go for flats! (or a dress in the same shape).

Wear something that is comfortable and nice at the same time! ANything that you like and that makes you happy. You don’t have to wear a certain color that you feel uncomfortable with just to impress them peoplesss.

wear something fancy but not black. Hit Anne taylor or something like that for a print? you want something that you feel comfortable and awesome in since you will be the center of attention

congratulations! since it’s your party, and you and your fiance’s night(or day or whenever the party is), i think you should wear a dress in what ever color you want! i’m sure you’ll great in whatever you choose.

Congrats!  I think a sundress for an outdoorsy event would be nice (Sept 26 is still sundress weather in Los Angeles) or a pretty cocktail dress for something indoors.  But in all honesty it depends on the type of event and comfort is definitely important.  (You have your wedding day to be uncomfortable!    Ok, you don’t have to be uncomfortable that day either.)  I know basic black is always in, but I think you should wear something colorful, it’s your time to shine honey!
