I bought a pair of boyfriend jeans recently from Aeropostale. They are simply adorable, and I have loved them since I set my eyes on them. After scouring three malls in my area, I finally found my size. The only dilemma that I’ve run into, is that I have no idea what shoes to wear with them.
I’m a sixteen year old sophomore, obviously still in high school. One of my school dress code rules is no flip flops, and that’s the only thing I’ve found that looks reasonably cute with my jeans, due to my short legs. Plus, I don’t really know what kind of shirt to pair with this adorable piece of denim.
Do you have any suggestions of what to wear with my beloved boyfriend jeans?

The ones in the picture look pretty good! You know, ballet slippers!

i would go with the most outrageously colored high top converse stilettos. they have them at the mall. delicious.

I wear my hiking boots…
But then again, I wear my hiking boots with most everything I own.

(even though you didn’t ask about clothes) cardigans or long sleeve u necks : )
flats, penny loafers or casual heels? just thrift store search while wearing them and see what looks good.
def. think that boots would look pretty bad

heels would look nice with them.

but then heels too, most shoes really

@AndRelyingOnACalendar@xanga - I actually wore them the other day with some super cute gladiators, and they looked good. But I paired it with a plain black tank top and gray cardigan. Overall, it looked adorable.

I think a cute pair of flats would go well. As far as on top goes, either a button up shirt of some sort or a plain tank top or v-neck t-shirt and a fun patterned cardigan.

A hat can be a good idea, or a tie.

I wouldn’t really wear boots of any kind… they would probably look bad…
I would say flats of some sort. Heels if you can find a decent, casual looking pair of them. I don’t know about converses either. To me that just looks weird…
Good luck

I honestly don’t like boyfriend jeans. I think they’re frumpy and don’t look good on any kind of girl. >.<

I agree with @curvilinearlines@xanga. Maybe add some necklaces, for femininity’s sake. Jazz it up.
guest
@whowantstoloseit@xanga - Haha yes, totally forgot about accessories. An outfit like this is all about the accessories, really!

cute, feminine flats and a cute, colorful tee.

any relaxed but cute look, like the picture!!

a tighter shirt + loose pants = cute. maybe a tighter thin v-neck tshirt? and shoes… flats, i’m guessing. girly flats. with color.
guest
Flats?

@Bunny_On_The_Fritz@xanga - i agree

A look of shame.

low-top converse/skater shoes (vans slip-ons are my fave) or ballet flats of some kind. shirts- boyfriend jeans, since they’re more baggy, should be countered with a tighter top so you don’t look swallowed in your whole look.

Wear open toe ballet pumps or just closed toe ballet pumps.
Then for your torso a tank top or something tight, not loose. Quite simple in style no patterns, minimal look.
Then some chunky necklace, or one arm of bangles not both, just one.

Flats look best, I’d think. I love the boyfriend jeans. So darn comfortable.

flats or crazy high heels for me

I don’t really understand what boyfriend jeans are… the Aeropostale ones you linked to are baggy, but I was looking at AE ones the other day, and they are more form-fitting (actually they looked almost exactly like their other jeans… haha), and they’re not worn folded up at the bottom, either.
I’d say wear sneakers, because I didn’t like bringing an extra pair of sneakers to school just for gym class. I never care about what I look like, it’s all about practicality.

uhm how about you dont wear them at all..theyre really ugly

Definately flats and try pairing it with a white wife-beater tank top and a plaid long sleeved button up shirt. To make it more girly, try wearing a necklace, or a nice pair of long earrings.
guest
@Eyes_Herself@xanga - I love those things!
guest
i would wear a girly top and flats just because you want it to look girly but also comfortable like the boyfriend jeans.
guest
converse! high tops or lows. boyfriend jeans are hot, go get em girl!

Hmm = (
boyfriend jeans are defiantly not my style, but I would wear a solid color fitted V-neck and and an oversize cardigan with really cute pair of jewled flats.
guest
Heels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
guest
If you do wear converses wear low tops.
But what i really suggest you wear is flats. just saying.
guest
tend to think of converses mostly

A t-shirt fitted like the one in the picture (I am sure you didn’t choose it) and a blazer. Don’t tight roll them, that looks cheesy. If they are too long roll them. If you are going to wear ballerina flats with them, I’d do opaque hose once it gets cold and trouser socks for now. I’d probably do the same with converse only I’d not use trouser socks as they are too thin. If you bought a distressed pair of boyfriend jeans, I’d skip the blazer and get flannel shirt.

@methodElevated@xanga - that’s funny.

i’d go with ballet flats or skimmers, to make them look a bit more girly.
guest
flats or converse
guest
a graphic tee , or some kind of t-shirt & pretty sandles
guest
heels ^^
guest
i wear mine with a simple (tight) tank top and vans slip ons. u can also wear converse or girl it all up with ballet flats.
guest
@methodElevated@xanga -
lmfao, good one.
guest
I don’t know what would flatter such an unflattering style…

@The_Aimed_Wanderer@xanga - nice one

I wear my boyfriend jeans with Converse or flats….no heels.
guest
WHY DO THEY CALL IT “BOYFRIEND JEANS”?
guest
i wear my blue washed g-star boyfriend jeans with bright pink ballet flats. they were a children’s show, but the colour just goes so well with them. and some heels too. nothing too tall, and even with wedges would be good if you are planning to team it up with a white peasant top and gillet/vest.
guest
A bra.
If you have short legs you should not be wearing jeans (or capris) that end on your calf. It makes you look shorter.
guest
sneakers. but not running sneakers… converse sneakers or some other kind of cute sneaker
