Boho, skater, emo, preppy, classic, vintage, hipster, urban, geek chic… there are so many ways you could classify your personal style. The other day I was cleaning out my closet, when I realized that I had no idea how I could classify my own personal style. (Yes, lovelyish readers, gasp!
) So earlier I was making a polyvore (any polyvore fans?), and I made one with clothes that I have (or identical pieces) that I wear all the time. The result:
me, myself, and I.

I adore the whole effortless and natural look. I wear lots of skinny/straight leg jeans, cardigans, and moccasins/sneakers. I also love skirts and dresses and am a fan of blazers and military jackets. I used to be super into the rock and roll kind of thing, which I still love, but it’s less apparent in how I dress.
What do you think? How would you describe this kind of style?

Ha ha, as much as I hate it, I spose prepish, geek chic, hipster, ha ha.

I don’t like being labeled as any style at all because I’m sure at one point or another, I’d wear things from each category! Most of the time, I guess by definition, I am skater/geek chic/preppy. Oh. Cute but comfortable [;

oh man, I have no idea what I am. I wear things that are girly, like my favorite purple bow headband a lot, but then I also wear like, my leather (FAKE) jacket. Idk.
guest
I’d say you’re mish-mash. You mash things from different scenes together and somehow make it look right.
guest
I don’t label my style. I just wear what I want to wear. I feel no need to put a label on myself.

Whoa what you described in the last paragraph is exactly what I like and wear ! ahaha but I don’t label my style because I have a wide variety of stuff. I have things from every category.
so yeah, I don’t know my own personal style either
guest
i don’t realy have a personal style. i just wear whatever i like. and if you look into my closet, there’s alot of random clothing..
daisy / 630 posts
I don’t have a specific style… I wear the mood I’m in that morning.
orchid / 118 posts
Mine is exactly like yours (: .. and I dont know how to describe it..
daisy / 558 posts
I think that’s a lot of styles put together.
I’d say I’m alternative urban chic. lol I’m a mix of styles too.

i dress quite simply. but i make up for it with an eclectic mix of personality quirks. i do rock a large yellow knit sweater, but i’ve given up dressing flashy. i’ve been described as a hippie, but more so my attitude and my tendency to not wear shoes. i just wear what i like =)
sunflower / 295 posts
simple and cute-ish, i wear lots of skirts and dresses. rarely trousers..

I wear a lot of clothes from H&M and have been buying a lot of old, vintage purses and shoes lately
guest
I wear whatever I feel like wearing that day and some days, you could classify me.
People think I pose because I dont wear the same style everyday, but I am a woman influenced by many different things.
guest
Preppy with a twist.

I like being comfy but stylish. Sneakers and flats. scarves and ethnic jewelry Skinny jeans or leggings. Cardigans and/or tunics. Leather jackets. Vintage and Rock. I guess my style can be be described as boho vintage girly grunge rocker? I’d prefer that over being called indie and hipster. Idk my style is all over the place but it comes together rather nicely. =)
guest
Me too, I am really into the whole vintage but simple and natural look as well. Like cardigans, flowy tops, skinny jeans, flats, I LOveee simple

I would describe my style as tramp

I don’t really label my style, but everyone says it’s ‘rocker chick’. I LOVE black, studded fingerless gloves, guitar necklaces, bracelets and armbands that are always labelled as ‘emo’, converse and baseball shoes, printed tees, dark jeans, waistcoats, biker jackets, anything with lots of studs, and those bow hairpin things for my hair. I love an edgy style. I never feel confortable in a feminine dress. If I ever wear a dress, I want it to be studded and a bit gothic. Not that my parents agree…

I don’t like having to assign a name to style. Style is individual and hopefully fluid with our personalities, comforts, and preferences. I go for tidy comfort, as in I can lie around the house in it or I can go out and not look like I just rolled out of bed.

Edgy but also girly and glamorous.

i love polyvore!
use it all the time.
your look seems like….urban boho.

My style has no label. i just wear what i want….

i don’t always have a specific style i claim to but i like to mix and match a lot. i also like to be comfortable in anything i wear. don’t get me wrong, i like to dress up once in a while and either go out with my girl friends or on a date. on a typical day, you’ll see me in office style clothes because of work but after work, i’m usually in shorts or a tee and tennis shoes because i work out. on the weekends, i like to mix my style up and just go with what i’m feeling that day.

I guess I do dress kinda natural and effortless. I usually choose my clothes randomly and don’t wear makeup… and it seems to work for me.
guest
Ooo, your style is so cute!
I don’t know what to call mine…

I’m slender, and have heavy sad looking eyes so I pull off the “dark look” quite well.
I’m not a full out goth or emo. I just wear dark colors like black, greys, olives, and purples. Occasionally I wear navy but not often. I wear alot of black eyeliner, but not the huge obnoxious cat eye thing. I like to wear simple necklaces. My tops are very form fitting so my look is sexy, but I usually don’t show THAT much clevelage so it still comes across as sophistcated.
I love a casual black dres, I wil style it in so many ways. I guess you could kind of call it a staple?
It took me ages to develop. I used to be way overboard punky in middle school, and then WAY too colorful when I was a freshman. I love what I wear because I feel like I’m being myself everytime I get dressed. Finding your personal style takes time but feels great once you got it.
guest
i wear whatever is confy – but i guess boho rock (?) i love my black
guest
haha i think everone in general have many different “style” in them mixed in together. after all, that’s what makes us so different from each other right?
guest
I don’t have a specific style. At all. I’m preppy, rocker, hipster, beachy, hippie, and I really like cardigans/sweaters and skinny or straight-leg jeans. I also really like hats, like military caps and berets and cool sock hats. I like Converse All-Star and One-Star shoes. I really like graphic tees, like my Beatles and Star Wars t-shirts. So I’m pretty random.

@fuzzi_mushroom@xanga - urban boho, haha i like how that sounds! except i live in a tiny town in the middle of minnesota. so i don’t know how that came to be.
I took my senior pictures the other day and that very well may be the clothing “vibe” i went with… except for the pictures in my prom dress. haha.
guest
Scene/rocker…I’d have to say(:
guest
Well I would describe my style as whimsical/bohemian/edgy/creative
orchid / 207 posts
I used to be major major goth but now I’m more hippie chic or boho or whatever you want to call it.
guest
roll out of bed.
guest
I prefer smart to girly. with a lot of black, I’m not sure which category I’d put myself in.
daisy / 565 posts
i go for the classy or simple.
guest
actaully everything you put in your polyvore i wear the samee things basicly so idk what i really am. its so dependent on my mood that morning.
rose / 781 posts
I don’t label myself and I also don’t label the clothes, I wear.. because I wear what I want to wear. And, I just don’t stick to one label.. or anything, it’s just what I want to wear, I wear.
guest
haha everyone stepping on the bandwagon of “I don’t label myself nor do I find labeling ok.” Everyone’s in a label, whether they want to admit it or not. I don’t see the harm in labeling your fashion, everyone else is going to put you in this little stereotypical box (I know, stereotypes are taboo nowadays, but they have truth in them so I don’t want to hear any bitching on the subject) so you might as well know how you portray yourself to the general public.
. I’m still wearing what I used to in high school (just a bunch of jeans and regular t-shirts. nothing fancy at all, nor worth mentioning) and I don’t accessorize at all. I’m waiting to get enough money so I can start a new wardrobe. I’m a college student, dammit! It’s time to look my age.
I love the boho look, how everything’s nice and airy. But I also like modern gypsy. I love gawdy jewelry and my family has gypsy descendents, so I might go with my roots one day. ^_^
I’d label myself as lazy haha
guest
I wouldn’t label a style. I don’t think about them when I shop for clothes. No matter what “style” it is, if I like it, I buy it. I like what’s comfortable not in style.
guest
@bitterbittenrockinblonde22@xanga - i agree.
and also it sounds geek chic.
guest
i wear what i like , what i feel comfortable in
guest
im always wearing skinny jeans, black band-tshirts, abercrombie & fitch shirts, converses, hoodies, flats, hollister, im always layering up my look 2
and i got my nerdy glasses on top of that lol
so i guess maybe geek-prep-skater
kinda like pac-sun, ravegirl, mandees kind of clothes if you guys know what i mean

For everyday, I’m more of a boho-casual type of chick and I love the whole “effortless” look but I like to dress up from time to time depending on where I’m going.
Oh….and I love jeans (wear it almost everyday) and scarves (bandeau).
guest
i just freakin adore how what used to be “grandmaish clothes” and “uncool” are the new chic or whatever. all these little teenyboppers running around i a tee with a band they don’t even know and stuff. buying something from h&m and calling it vintagy. nahh doll. it’s only vintage if you stole it from your grandma.

Pants: Flare-legged jeans (sometimes I buy cheaper classic-fit jeans and put my own bellbottom pactch into them), black dance pants, pinstripe slacks.
Skirts/Dresses: peasant skirts, lots of patterns (not florals much, more geometric), a-line and rockabilly dresses.
Tops: Sweaters (LOVE the boatneck), tunics, t-shirts in black or with science/environmental slogans, 3/4 sleeve blouses.
Shoes: ballet flats, sturdy docs, sandals, one pair of ratty running shoes with paint on it.
Actually, many of my clothes that I’ve had for more than a year have paint on them somehow.

I love the kind of retro girly look. I adore high waisted skirts and tights. I could probally live in them. And other than that I just dress kind of preppy. I always try to look nice, even for school.
