The recent post about laser hair removal made me want to share this tidbit: it’s at-home laser hair removal! Cheaper and more convenient!
There are two many kinds out in the market…they are both said to be safe and effective.
The Silk’n: Uses heat waves and gives you very good short-term results. Most people say about 70% of the hair is gone after the first two treatments. However once you stop using it the hair grows back
The Tria: Uses the same technology dermatologists use. In order to activate it, the machine first has to test your skin to make sure it’s light enough in contrast to your hair. It’ll remove less hair then The Silk’n so you’ll need more treatments to see the same effect. However if you stop using it, the hair will remain gone
I haven’t used any of these devices myself but this is what I discovered through online reviews etc. I thought it would be a cheaper/more convenient alternative for most of you
Would you ever consider at-home laser removal?

No thanks, I think I’ll leave laser treatments to the doctors.

I’ll leave to the trained professionals. I’d probably hurt myself otherwise.

My aunt tried : no result except red marks (burnt ? don’t know..). I think it will work better and be safer made by a dermatologist

I think I will keep on removing hair the old school way.

I don’t trust “at-home” and “laser” in the same sentence.
Maybe in 20 years.

Haha, I guess I’m the only one here who got excited over this. I’d try it. Well, depending on the price I guess…and I’d have to read a lot of reviews about it.

@i_r_keiko@xanga - haha, i was about to say the same thing.

I’m pretty sure I’ll end up hurting myself if I use this lol.

I’d try the second one.
I’m sick of hair haha!

I’ll leave laser hair removal to my laser nurse. It’s way too risky.

I did six treatments of laser hair removal a couple years ago and it didn’t really work for me. Next time I’ll try electrolysis or however it’s spelled

i’ll stick to my epilator. i’ve been using it for almost a year now and my hair barely grows back. but i never really had a lot of hair on my body to begin w/.

I think the idea of being able to do laser hair removal in the privacy of your own home would be great, but I always wondered what the long-term effect of doing that is. I mean, would you have skin problems later in life? I don’t think it has been around long enough to know, has it?

i dunno about this….
