I think we’ve all babysat at some point to score some cash. But do you do it regularly? Are you jazzed about diapers and Nickelodeon, or do kids make you exhausted just looking at them?
What are your good babysitting tips?

I babysit pretty often, I used to do it more often, but the kids got too old. I absolutely love children. Board games are one of my favorite babysitting activities

I babysit…. but it is for friends and usually so they will babysit my kid from time to time.

I gotta babysit my little brother today. It ain’t all THAT hard, you just gotta know how to talk to the kid, how to bribe them.

I work as a nanny (when I have a job, grrr). It’s fun, but can be very tiring.. especially when I used to work 5am till 9pm looking after 3 kids!!!

I babysit occasionally. It’s always for this one family with three boys and they’re so easy because all they do is play hockey, eat, and sleep. So I just have to sit there while they play, feed them tv dinners, and then put them to bed until the parents come home. Sooo easy.

For awhile my sister always had me watching my niece. i t was pretty easy all we did was watch her favorite movies. It wasn’t too bad.She isn’t too wild, she knows better lol.

I’ve been babysitting with some of my friends and they are mean to the kids when they do something bad. I have never been like that to any of the kids i’ve babysat, you just need to have patience with them and they will respect you more. I always read to or with them and I let them watch whatever they want to on tv.

in singapore, i think i can hardly find anyone who babysits. it’s usually their own grandparents or maid who would take care of the small kids

I babysat once…and the girl made me cry so never again.

I nanny regularly and I love it! I love kids but for some reason I’ve only ever nannied for 2-year-old boys. they’re the best.

I usually babysit my neighbor’s kids. I try to keep my cool and try to be as patient as I can.

I babysit my sister every day. I hate it.

I’m a mom, so I’m the one getting the babysitters. Kids can be exhausting, that’s for sure! Of course when they’re with a babysitter I think they’re much more hyper than when they’re with their parents, just because they’re excited to have someone new to play with.

The kids i babysit (Usually for family or close friends) are pretty tamed. I feed them and they go about their own buisness. Now little babies, that is entirely different story.

I haven’t babysat someone else’s kid in a LONG time. I am a stay at home mom to my two kids (3 and 2), and yes, it can get exhausting. From what I remember about babysitting, I liked it a lot (hence my desire to be a mom).

i babysit three days a week during the school year. i love the kids but it can be such a chore sometimes being that the little boy is a crybaby and the older sister can be such a witch at times :O
a good tip is to NEVER let them look through your phone. one time the boy downloaded and bought a game, and another time the girl saw a pick of my ex boyfriend shirtless. :O yeah… not the best idea

well my little brother stays home w/ me all summer.
i don’t really consider it baby sitting he just plays video games, i go online and occasionaly feed him.
lol, it’s like he’s a pet!

I’ve babysat once (the last two times were cancelled, they’re short on money) and I enjoy it. It’s a little difficult because of how impossible it is to feed him and stop him from crying once he gets bored of all the toys, but other than that it’s really fun, and is only made better by the money.

i’ve never babysat in my life! i feel like i’ve missed out on it, since everyone in high school were always saying they were going to babysit so and so’s kid… i’ll get my chance soon enough haha

I’ve babysat a lot recently. Well, my summer job is Nannying.
My biggest tip would be try to not be best friends with the kids. YOU need to be the boss. If you do everything just to keep them happy, you’ll have a tantrum on your hands before you know it. So set the rules but do it with smiles.

i’ve never babysat before…thank god.

I babysit an 11 year old boy..
He is FULL of energy and at times drives my insane but I get 10/h so thats good for me

I hate kids

My summer job is babysitting two girls, and one of them isn’t too bad on her own (she’s 6), but her older sister is the ultimate brat (she’s 9)… and when they are together, the girl who isn’t that bad on her own becomes a little monster. So it’s not my favorite job ever. but i try to be patient with the kids, although their requests are a little ridiculous. and some days are better than others.

I babysit everyweekend & as soon as
school starts back I’ll be doing it daily .
no tips really to tell if yu have that natural love for children
yu should really know what to do
but with smaller children yu need alot of
patience & enegry & yu deff need to think like them to make it out alive .

i baby-sit my brother everyday.
he just keeps to himself most of the time; plays the kiddie versions of WoW on his laptop. i make him lunch (my parents are there for breakfast) and walk him to and from tennis practice, but really that’s it. sometimes i’ll play on the wii with him or something or we’ll put on a puppet show for ourselves with my numerous stuffed animals.

lol i never babysat anyone actually lol

I babysit for a Jazzercise class at the Rec Center. I like it, the kids are nice, and they can usually entertain themselves. There is a TV, but we only turn it on if the kids want to. Normally they don’t.
But the pay is good, and it’s not hard work. I’ve got lots of practice cos I have seven younger siblings. I’m like this free babysitter at home. But I don’t mind, my siblings are harder to babysit for then the kids at the Rec, because they know they can get away with more!!!

patience is the key..
if you dont have it, dont babysit.

I used to babysit all the time, the only reason I stopped is because I went away for college and the ones I babysat regularly grew up — They’re so huge now~!
I like kids well enough, I cannot count how many times I have played the boardgame life, though. If I never play it again it will be too soon. I am quite saddened by how downhill kids shows have gone. The channels I used to watch are either non-existant or they play things that are horrible.

I work twice a week 8-5 for a 5 yr old and a 20 month old. I bring a new craft each time for the five year old, which we do while her brother naps. It’s also a good idea to bring games that they don’t have, movies they don’t have, and fun cds they don’t have. It helps to mix up things a lot.
guest
my tip would be, just make deals with the kid! Like, okay i’ll read you one more story and then you go to bed. Or, okay your sister gets to use this toy but we’re going to go draw instead. it’s all about bargaining.
guest
I babysit every once in a while. I’ve babysat 3 times in the past two weeks. I like it the kids I babysit are awesome.
guest
Just play. Don’t ignore. Imagination is the key, trust.
guest
i babysit for free only for 1 family because they will help me out when i need a babysitter lol.
guest
I don’t babysit other kids but I have been a full time stay at home mom since my daughter was born she’s one year and 2 months old.
