Question: I have a dress similar to the one below. Almost exact same color (called currant) and the material is cotton/sateen. I really need help with what color shoes and what types of accessories to go with this dress.

Answer: From fire-engine red to burgundy, all shades of red dresses look smashing with black accessories. You could pair your dress with this season’s fierce, strappy heels for a modern look or find some elegant D’Orsay heels or peep-toe pumps to play up the ladylike feel of your dress. The choice is yours.
Add a black clutch or small shoulder bag, a piece or two of jewelry in either gold or silver (match the hardware on the purse for foolproof coordination), and you’re all set. Try adding further contrast with ebony onyx or black-lacquer jewelry.
Here are some hand-picked accessories that I’d consider pairing with your dress; everything’s $45 or less!
Which of these dresses is your favorite?

Ah, the dress that looks like yours is adorable(:
I can’t help but to agree black accessories go best with red!

I LOVE the dress in the second picture
And the $27 charlotte russe heels

The last one is the only one I would *consider* wearing. The rest are just fugly.

I love the idea of a red dress but red probably isn’t the best color for me. If I wore red it would have to have blue undertones…a really saturated jewel tone. My hair is strawberry blonde and I have lots of pink in my complexion. I’d rather wear green anyway.

personally, i find black and red to be very formal. when i wear red i love looking elegant but other times i want to look fun.
try metallic with reds. silver strappy heels or even gold.

Those are some cute shoes!

All of that jewelry looks cheap.
I agree with one of the above comments–you could give metallics a try. Gold is a neutral, even for shoes.

i LOVE the last dress

I like peep toe pumps. They’re classy but dressy.

i like diane kruger’s dress a lot. black accessories are the obvious standby, but trying some nude or beige pumps could work (you’d have to be pretty careful that the color didn’t look informal or office-secretary-ish) but lighter shades such as those make legs look longer, which… you know… is always a plus.

I’ve never worn one, apparently my outgoing attitude does not go with sucha vibrant firey color…it will make me appear over the top and overwhelming I guess lol. That and I’m not a huge fan of the color red anyway (and yet I’m an Aries haha)

thank you

i like the 3rd red dress in the 1st picture..
the last time i wore a red dress was for my prom in 2008
the color was wine red and it was magnificent! bought it in downtown LA for about $80
i paired it with dangling earrings that were crystal-like
and a pair of cream strappy heels with crystal-like embellishment

The three dresses in a row is ugly, but the dress that you said is similar to the one you own is pretty.
For shoes, I’d go with page 2 Satin Ruffle Pumps.
For necklace, page 4 Selena Floral or Faceted Round Jewel (whichever one looks better on you or if you already have a black necklace that sorta dangles down, then that’ll work too.)
For purse, Boscoreale is cute, but a bit pricy. (If you already have a small black purse of some kind that goes pretty well with the dress, you can just use that.)

The first three dresses are not by any means ones I would wear. Ever.
The fourth one I like. The last time I wore a red dress was on christmas

Ooo, cute! I never wore a red dress before o-o. I just stick to blues and blacks.

I have a red dress that I love to wear… it’s the same material as the fourth one, but it’s more form-fitting (without being too tight). I get lots of attention when I wear it, because not many people wear red dresses! I’m not sure I like the red with black as much, though. I have a pair of gold strappy heels that I bought specifically for the dress, and they work very well. Silver would look good too, depending on your skin tone. I have an olive skin tone, so warmer colors look good on me.

It’s been like 10 years?
I wore burgundy for prom.
I hate all of them except the 4th.

The last one is the only one I like.
