Finally, a documentary-ish film about Anna Wintour -editor-in-chief of VOGUE and one of THE most powerful, influential women in fashion – and the making of the September Vogue issue – “September is like the January in fashion“. I’ve been told its debut will be on or around September 10 or 11 during New York Fashion Week! Watch for it …This is one movie I can’t wait to watch. It beats Devil Wears Prada on my list!
Fashion is so much more than what the general population deems it to be, it entails everything. In my book, fashion is THE industry that reflects everything that happens in our society; it’s psychological and helps with self-expression, it entails hard-work and long hours, and at the same time it’s fun, amusing and rewarding. .. I could go on, you know?!

Haha I want to see this, I love fashion. I read vogue one in a while, I’d say once every three months I”ll flip through one to see the pretty clothes and artistic value of the models and fashion.

I appreciate and enjoy fashion, but this kind of thing doesn’t interest me. I went to see Devil Wears Prada with my mom and sister (to spend time with them, not to see the movie), and I didn’t enjoy it at all. I don’t think I’d like this documentary, either, mostly because people like her bother me to no end.

Yes I read vogue.
I ADORE HER! I love a strong woman who makes no apologies for who she is.

I think it is an amazing magazine. She may be a bitch of a boss but she gets the job done and allows the “Average” reader to see fashion as art. It’s amazing and inspiring.

I don’t read Vogue. I haven’t in about 10 years. I don’t think about Ann Wintour unless some one mentions her.

I have bought Vogue twice in my life. (Once in Germany and once the first issue of the Chinese Vogue) And I didn’t enjoy them. I think the magazine is a bit overrated. I cannot relate to the fashion nor do I think it was worth the money I paid. I like Instyle better.
And Anna Wintour? Well, I don’t have an opinion on her because I do not know her. As long as she does what she loves, she’s my hero

wow i want to see this! it’s a documentary film?? Anna Wintour is one hell of a woman! she just depicts this strong dominating aura around her, you get intimidated but awed by her too.
i don’t really like leon talley as much as of an influential person he is in this industry, just my thoughts.. (:

I will be the first one to see this, thank you very much.

I disagree with your (or her?) views on the importance of fashion.
You speak of fashion as if it is this great monumental art form that
somehow surpasses all of our other art forms in terms of its cultural
relevance.
I fail to comprehend this. It’s not that I don’t consider fashion to be
an art form, but you seem to be implying that fashion is the
ONLY art form that allows for self-expression, requires hard work, and
leads to a sense of enjoyment. This sounds very close-minded to me.
On the contrary, I would say that fashion is one of the least
culturally relevant forms of art. Fashion is one of the most highly
commercialized art media (possibly more so than movies and popular
music), so it is inherently less self-expressive. In addition, fashion
trends often change every two or three months, which means it’s much
less likely to give a lasting reflection of society.

let’s just say i wouldn’t mind her job. i do read vogue but i’m not obsessed about it.

@literate_pony@xanga - i think fashion is important in the sense that it is the most accessible art form and applies to nearly everyone. but yeah, fashion is definitely over-hyped imo.
however, i will def. watch this!

Then you’ll have loved “Fashion Babylon” – what a great read…
