Question of the Day:
Ladies, how much do you pay for your haircuts? And how often? Do you have a favorite stylist you frequent?
Nothing; my father’s wife is a hairdresser ;] but I rarely have it done because she puts it off for a long time, that’s the downside!
orchid / 141 posts
$40. Every 2-3 months.
I pay 25 dollars, including tip! pretty cheep
$0. My uncle cuts and styles hair and such. Yay.
dahlia / 2012 posts
I cut my own hair about once every year or so.
orchid / 183 posts
I pay from $15-$30, depending on where my hairdresser works at the time. She moves around a bit, but the price never goes over $30.
$0, wohoo!! My mom cuts my hair, since I have long hair, its easier to manage.
cherry blossom / 43 posts
I pay $15 plus tip. I’ve been seeing the same girl for years.
$50-60aud every 4-5 months
When I used to go to Bubbles, I had the same guy and I’d pay about $45 which included tip. But he was amazing, gorgeous, and straight. Which for male hair dressers a combination of those 3 is a rare thing!
Money became tight and my friend started doing my hair for $10. It was goooood.
my mom’s really good friends with the salon owner
dahlia / 2942 posts
It used to be $7 when I went to those Asian hair places. Now I go to a non-ghetto Asian place in neighborhood and I pay $20 but I’m not dreading my haircuts anymore!
my mom went to cosmetology school, so she cuts my hair for free. never paid for a haircut in my life!
$35+ tip. I get my haircut once a year.
orchid / 111 posts
$45.00 for mine.
$24 + tip.
Every 3-6 months
i pay about 40-50 incl tip at a salon i always go to about every 3 months.
usually $40 every 2-3 month, I go to the same stylist all the time so if I go there to get something done sometimes I dont need to pay if I dont have money on me at the moment
$15 when I go to Cost Cutters$25-35 when I go to JC Pennys
I’m pretty irregular with my haircuts since I’ve started growing my hair out.
orchid / 136 posts
$20-$30 about every 5 months. Kinda depends on my mood lol. I try to always go to the same lady, but sometimes our schedules just dont work out. However, I have had to have her “fix” my hair after someone else cut it and did a horrible job.
$27 plus tip…I go every month and a half/two months because my hair is very short in the back and gets scraggly otherwise.
The same girl has been cutting my hair since I cut it this short in February. A friend of mine recommended her and I love her!
like thirty bucks.
$20ish, every year or so
I cut my own
Nothing, my friends do it.
Sometimes I cut my own but otherwise I will get my haircut around $10
like $40 plus tip every few months. but lately haven’t gone, trying to grow out my hair.
hydrangea / 59 posts
100-125! Cut & highlight. same person everytime!
I cut my own! I love it; that way I always get exactly what I want and can do it whenever the mood strikes me. I haven’t paid for any cut, color, or treatment in over 8 years
$10. I get my hair cut about every 6 or 7 months.
i’m surprised that people are saying such high prices. i hardly ever get haircuts cause i grow it out really long after every cut. they’re usually about $14, i go to best cuts or great clips..typical chain places. i don’t really need a fancy salon for that.
I cut my own.lol.
orchid / 171 posts
The haircut itself is $15 and then tip.I got my hair cut, highlighted, and styled for sixty bucks. I think that’s pretty cheap.
My mum cuts me.
orchid / 177 posts
Since I don’t have much money, I gone from getting my hair cut every 3-4 months to every 5-6 months. I usually pay $12-15. I used to have a specific hair dressor I’d go to, but that’s about 40-50 minutes now that I’m in college, so I just go to Master Cuts in the local mall now.
Wow…I was expecting way higher prices from everyone haha. I usually spend about $145 and I go twice a year, but that’s because I get my hair colored too.
$55 plus a $15 tip. :’( i feel like i have to go there because my mom goes there and i know the hairdresser personally. i can’t wait until college when i can just go to a normal place and only pay $30 or something.
i got a haircut yesterday, for $70, and i don’t even like it!
sunflower / 327 posts
I cut my own now =)
$50 and about ever 3-4 months or so. I used to cut my hair once a year when I was younger. lol. So I actually like getting haircuts now. I pay this much for my haircut because i haven’t found any cheaper salons that cut my hair the way I want it.
I get my hair done for free as well, 2 times every year or so. I’ve don’t often trim my hair and when I get it done it’s usually a big change.
My friend does highlights and haircut for $60. I’m usually one of those people who likes to change my hair every so often, so I just go do that every half-year or so. It depends. I do cut my own bangs though!
i don’t get haircuts much. probably 2-3 times a year. they usually cost about 10 dollars with tips of course. and i always have my favorite hairstylist. she has been cutting my hair since i was a little kid going to grade school haha..
$25 + tip every like 4-6 months
15-20but i normally cut my own
I get my hair dyed, so it’s about $120 including tip, every month and a half- two monthes.
$23 plus $5 tip so $28 =)i go every two months to the same lady cos she knows how i want my hair. ohh yeahhh. haha
I pay about $20ish whenever I get the time to get my hair cut.
about 20 dollars every 2-3 months when I remember and yes I have a stylist who knows my type of hair and always gives me amazing cuts
$50 plus tip (i always give $10) = $60… however i get my hair cut maybe twice a year….
orchid / 202 posts
i layer my own hair and do my own bangs… but when it comes to big cuts, i go to great clips and it costs about $15 including tip
$0 – I enrolled in this model u thing at Bumble and Bumble in Manhattan for their Curly Hair workshop.. the cuts are always great and flattering and obviously, the best part is its free (cuts by their stylists are above $100)!! I guess you could say I spend about $10-12 on transportation to get there =] - It’s great, I highly suggest people who live around the area to check it out.
if i go to ulta, it’s about $50+ but if i go to this girl that i’ve been going to for a while, it’s a bit more, around $100+. i pay a lot for haircuts, but i also get the cut i want not someone else’s style.
every 3-6 months, $20-$30. I do have a fave place to go. I cut my own fringe, and occasionally my own hair
hydrangea / 91 posts
Around $23 every few months.
I cut my own~I do a pretty good job, I’d say.People ask me to cut their and I do for free.
pay 15 bucks approx for haircut only (about once every 2mths or more). go to my mum’s friend’s salon. sometimes it can go up to more than 100 if i do rebonding
I cut my hair on my own and for the past 5 years I haven’t been to a stylist for trims, cuts, or to get my hair bleached/dyed.
My sister usually cuts it.
Hm. $50I have to get mine done every two and a half months or the layers get all messed up.And I have to get it recolored bi-annually and that takes the price up to about $120.

@RaabzBaby89@xanga - Hmm…after having 6 inches of my hair lopped off and an uneven cut at the cheaper places like SuperCuts, I opted to find a stylist I trust and go there each time. Regardless of the price. A bad style is killer on my confidence. I’ve paid as much as $65 but now I’ve found a place for $45. I no longer dread the salon visit because I love my haircut every time (2-3 months).
@spidergrass@xanga - Yah, I had expectations of everyone paying as much or more than my haircuts.
@doLc3@xanga – @MiSS__NARA@xanga - Is it hard cutting the back?
cherry blossom / 27 posts
Like…. 25 bucks !Wow.. that reminded me I need one soon!
@pineappleyellow@xanga - CUT MINE! hahahaha
$0! cut my own hair.
I recently decided to make this nice, not-ghetto-Asian place my new salon, so I pay $45 now. Helps that the guy is really cute. It’s a bit pricier for me, but I only get my hair cut twice a year so it’s ok.
$45 every 2-3 months. And its a great cut every time, so its worth it.
I get mine done at the hairdresser school. They charge about six bucks a cut and about twenty for a color which is nice because my hair grows crazy fast.
Mine = less than $20. I don’t go very often. Yepp, I go to the same guy every time and a different girl does my bangs.
Wow I thought I’d be in the middle range considering I’m not usually a glam girl but apparently my $60 a year (tip included) is closer to the top! I’d go twice a year if I were rich.
$0, from my aunt. i go about every 6 months.
25-60 + 5-20 tip, depending on how it goes. It’s hard to find who can consistently cut your hair just the way you like it.
My old hairdresser was $30 plus tip. I’ve recently changed (well, about a year ago, haha) my hairdresser because my old one was too expensive for me. My current one cuts my hair just as well for a much cheaper price – $12 plus tip. I get it cut about every 4-5 months.
around $10, and once in 3 or 4 months
£27.00 =] x
$65 + tip… i love my stylist
depends on the haircut. I usually get a regular cut which runs about fifteen bucks. However I have fallen in love with highlights. Highlights and a cut is about fifty. I always request the same one. It’s a lady that has cut my hair since I was a kid.
Usually around $25-$30 depending on how much she cuts off. If just a trim then she charges me $10. She always gives me a deal
$40 every 3-4 months. $52 if I get my eyebrows waxed. A bit over $60 because I tip.
And it’s 100% worth it every time.
i cut my own bangs because stylists never listen to what i want or the fact i have a cowlick.the same woman has regularly cut my hair since i was very little. she works at first choice hairdressers, so its under $20 even with tip. The problem is once she retires I will probably get my haircut at a more expensive place for like $40. I don’t get it cut often though because I am trying to grow it out. Maybe I go 3X a year these days.
I pay somewhere around $20 for mine, but I usually only get it cut once or twice a year.
$28 for a wash, cut and styling. pretty worth it i’d say. i cut my hair when i feel like it.
20ish…… the most
75sgd (50 usd) for a cut.. i have 1 hairdresser for cutting, 1 who’s great at coloring and 1 i go to only for washing & blowdrying pretty curls!
I get haircuts for free because I shoplift them.
way too fucking much. around 65.
I cut my own
The actual cut itself? $10. I get a cut, highlight, and eyebrow wax for $30. I’ve gone to this stylist my whole life, and my mom has gone to her for like 30 years too.
I go to this small Vietnamese shop and pay only $10! + tip of course. I’ve been going to Asian salons my whole life. The lady who cuts my hair now just seems to know my hair looks at its best.
I go about once a year, just because I’m growing it out and there really isn’t need to more often (I’m gentle with my hair)
once in a while i’ll get a haircut at this nice place for like $55-60. but every couple of months in between i get a trim at a place nearby for only $12! and they do a really nice job.
I cut my own hair, using a straight razor.
@Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga - omg that’s funny cuz a lot of asian hair salons that i’ve seen around my city have that same set price, $7. i wonder what it is with 7 bucks.
nothing. i’ve cut my own hair for the last seven years. it’s surprisingly easy.
$6-20 depending on where I go.
$15 and under I’m cheap like that
magnolia / 1354 posts
Usually $40.00 to $50.00.
When I get my hair dyed, which is becoming the only times I go and get my hair cut, I pay $120.00- $200.00. That depends on the hair colour, my hair length at the time, and if I am getting my whole head done or highlights.
orchid / 105 posts
30$ + tip, every 8 weeks. i’ve been going to the same guy for about a year at Regis and he’s wonderful!
I pay $30 for a haircut every month. I never like how my hair looks so I always have to get a haircut or something.
$6-8 every 4-6 months. I got to Phagan’s, the local beauty school on their $5 haircut days.I’m a cheepo
daisy / 728 posts
$35-40 CAN every 2-3 months
13-15$ every 3-6 months. I don;t like for my layers to get too long
$15 plus tips. I cut it every 3-2 months
$50 I like to take really good care of my hair, plus I get neon colors dyed in too so it’s prollly cheaper fer you. I go every three weeks
70$ if I’m getting everything done.
the most I’ve spent was $200+and I was there for 5+ hours. but on a 2 monthbases I pay $45. This is like my weakness and I defiantlysplurge when it comes to hair D;
about $20 once or twice a year
Around $8 plus tip every 6 to 10 weeks. We have a ton of hair schools in my area and they are cheap and good!
I really don’t know what my cut is without a color and style, but with the coloring, I pay between $100 to $200+ (depending on which stylist I go to). I have a favorite, but since he is so expensive, I have been looking for someone cheaper (the $100 cut and color). The jury is still out on this one. I have to have a history with the stylist and I like to get a head massage, too. I also want/need the stylist to be gifted enough to know what versions of the styles make my face look younger. This stylist also needs to understand that my hair is straight, straight, straight and very fine…in fact, so fine that it has absolutely no body. It takes talent to take lifeless, clingy hair and cut it in a way that when daily humidity drags every bit of curl away it still looks like a good hair style. Those stylists have more than experience, they have a true gift. I am willing to pay for my hair to look natural and perfect in the face of imperfection.
8 dollars every month or so.
im lucky ,a friend of mine is a hairdresser.she owns a salon ssoo ya =] all free for me loland i do my haircut like every 2 months
Mine are $80 or more, usually.I go to Hendrickson Hair Design. It’s kind of upscale, but I won’t go anywhere else. I’ve been butchered one too many times. But I only get my hair done once every several months, so it doesn’t exactly break the bank.
i usually pay $35-40 and i only get my hair cut about twice a year.
super cuts. I have long hair, and it only cost me $16 for shampoo, cut, and no blow dry. I love supercuts because they keep ur name in their system, and if u don’t like it and wanna come back the next day or so, they’ll fix it for free. =]
omg I know what you mean. Asian places are the worse. They never cut my hair the way I like it and when I tell them I want my hair really short, they keep telling me it’s TOO short. I go to an American place now. Its a bit pricier, but soo worth it.
I go see my hairstylist, Lindsey, one every couple of months. Depends on how fast my hair grows. And the price changes depending on what I have done. Usually its give or take $40 (including an eye brow wax).
peony / 4 posts
I pay 25 bucks every other month, sometimes more frequent, ive been going to the same lady for years, she does a great job
nothing: I cut my own hair.
i cut my own hair.. but i do need to invest in some scissors for a better cut.
i pay around 90-100, without tip. my hair is ridiculously thick and almost to my butt so i have to pay extra for any colour i get. which is usually quite a lot. plus i go to a salon, so the cut itself is expensive. its worth it to me, however, because i usually cut it around twice a year because i always go to the same person and im usually away for school.
Around $30 or $40. I cut my own hair now:)
hydrangea / 90 posts
$40 – $50 depending on if I only get it cut
WHEN I get my hair done, I pay anywhere from $40-60. Depends on where I go, which is different most of the times.
just a haircut is 25 dollars but i only cut my hair when i get it highlighted too so its 85 every 3 or 4 months
orchid / 139 posts
i just got a hair cut yesterday! lol. i’ve seen the same girl for a couple years. i paid $17 +$3 tip
FREE!!! My mom’s a cosmetologist. & we own a beauty salon. I’m pretty lucky.
