Question of the Day:
I’m in Quebec! Don’t worry, though I’m not home, I’ll definitely be finding a way to read all the comments while I’m gone.
How far have you been away from home? The farthest I’ve been is China, half the way around the world!
I’m always stunned when people have never even left the city they were born in, but I guess it happens.
What places are you planning on visiting? Do you see yourself getting homesick or having a grand ol’ time?

the furthest i’ve been from home is the philippines. i’ve lived in toronto (hometown), michigan (for college), and now boston (grad school), so philippines was definitely the furthest from all those locations.
i really want to visit south america, greece, and other parts of asia (thailand perhaps?)

Born and lived in Miami till I was 12 while spending summers and Christmases in Nigeria. Went to secondary school in Nigeria and lived there for four years before moving back to the states.
US: Boston,Florida, Georgia, New York.
Everwhere else: Amsterdam, Brazil,Ghana (doesn’t count really), London, Paris, and Rome.
I would never go back to Rome though; worst experience ever.

Buenos Aires, Argentina & Colonia, Uraguay.
$3500 trip for Spanish class… worth every penny.

The furthest south I’ve ever been is the Bahamas and Jamaica, north would be Niagra Falls, east would be New York City, (which I just got back from) and west would be Chicago. I live near Columbus, Ohio, so the farthest is Jamaica on the Disney Cruise.

I live in Baltimore. The farthest I’ve ever been from home would be Lourdes, France. That was for a short time, however. I lived in Salt Lake City (UT) for about two years. Living out West surrounded by all those gorgeous, gigantic mountains and all of the Mormons, I definitely felt a LONG way from home. I love it out there, though.

I love the way people are using this as a way to show off about where they have been in the world. The furthest I have been from home is Hawaii, I think. I live in UK.
guest
I live in Miami, FL and in high school I went to Greece and Turkey.
guest
Italy. Twice.
:]
My family is Italian, and I am getting my dual citizenship this year- so I will definitely be back many more times.
guest
Northern Indiana.
guest
i’ve gone across the world. literally.

the farthest i’ve ever been out of connecticut was LA.
my favourite place is Las Vegas, though you can only spend so long there. it’s a party city, and eventually you end up craving a little quiet and some less seizure-iffic lights.
If the trip is over a month long, yeah, i get a little homesick, because my travels are never really for leisure. there’s always places to go and people to see and stupid parties to look pretty for.. it’s a relief to get home and have a day to lay around doing nothing again.
I plan on visiting.. well. there’s a list.
Paris
Milan
Helsinki
London
Glasgow
Bora Bora (this one I can’t wait for.)
Sydney

the Philippines, or Hong Kong.. I visit Hong Kong whenever I go to the Philippines to visit family. I live on the east coast of the US, so it’s pretty darn far.

being in california is probably the farthest place i’ve been away from home since i’m from the east coast, but i’ve also made myself a home out here so i’m not as home sick as i used to be when i first got out here.
guest
…..from Guam to the Philippines. But I don’t think it counts much. Cause that’s a home away from home. but here on island… from my place to a friend’s house which is usually a 15-30 min drive depending on where I’m going. Not long huh? Haha, I love the small island.
guest
the farthest for me is europe and china.. ooh i want to go to egypt. that would be so much fun.
guest
The furthest I’ve been from home is Spain. It was cool since I was there with my two best friends (my dad chaperoned though…lol). We visited several different cities: Cordoba, Madrid, Seville, Valencia, etc… My favorites were Barcelona, Lloret de mar, & Tossa de Mar. It was gorgeous! I really want to go back just to visit those again.

To Jamaica, from various points in the US (mom’s retired military, dad’s a jamaican immigrant)
i was amazed to meet someone in 5th grade who had never seen snow (san antonio, TX), and here in georgia i meet people all the time who have never left the state. except for maybe spring break at panama city beach
hope to visit europe (western and eastern), japan, and canada (went once but was too young). and i want to see more of the US. i LOVE being away from home

i have never lived in the same place for longer than three years.
i have an american passport, but i was raised in spain. and now i go to boarding school in germany.although i have an american passport, it is very difficult to call myself american, since i’ve lived in europe most of my life…..

I’ve always been within 50 miles from home… Never farther than that. Being a dairy and hog farmer that i am, it is impossible to take a vacation. It’s ok, though, I have everything I need here in the great state of Ohio.
