I’ve noticed part of this summer’s fashion line are these silky scarves. I’ve seen stores selling them and people wearing them. What’s the deal? I could never wear a scarf in the summer. I think it’s a bit over the top. During winter, I’m all about them. Scarves and summer just don’t work for me. Isn’t it hot enough out?
What do you think of summe scarves? Is the trend hot or not?

guest
Yeah, I’ve definitely noticed this trend. As for the “hot or not,” it definitely makes things hotter temperature wise. Yeah, I’m lame, but with the word choice in your last question that is what immediately came to mind…

I saw a girl at a baseball game in a white sun dress and a blue metallic scarf, it was really cute. I say yes

I still wear them in summer. But if I get too hot then it’s time to take it off!

I could wear them in the spring, fall, and winter..But depending where you are..Its just wayyy too hot to wear them in the summer!
guest
It’s pretty hot by every means.
guest
If it’s light… then yes. But it just depends on the day… lately in NJ, it’s been raining everyday and all, so I probably would sport a scarf.
guest
NOT.
I’m in Houston, and it gets into the 110′s here.

lmao that this post appeared in the highlights as soon as I finished posting an entry on the summer scarf lol! I think the look is awesome and a scarf is a great way to jazz up a boring or lazy summer outfit. The key is just to wear a light-weight one. A wool scarf in the summer would look kind of silly, especially on really hot days. Anyone who wants tips on how to rock the summer scarf (or any time of year) check out my latest post

…we’ve already done this, Lovelyish.

It’s fashion. You don’t have to understand anything.

personally I like it. If I’m showing too much skin, then it’s def. a great way to cover things up and add some flair to my outfit. But wearing really thick scarves during the summer does seem slightly ridiculous, I stick to silky scarves that are square shaped that I can tie around my neck in a v shape. That way it’s not to distracting and it keeps things fun.

I wish there was some kind of new trendy wide-brimmed hat, because that would actually be resourceful in the summer. Summer scarves are ridiculous.
guest
I like the trend, but personally, I wouldn’t wanna wear anything around my neck in the summer cause it’d be too hot out.
guest
I’m from MN, so it (almost) never gets really hot here.. scarves are great!
guest
If you live in a place where summer is cold, then it’s hot. But if it’s literally hot outside, it’s lame and nooot.
guest
I love scarves, but it is way too hot to wear them in Florida.
guest
on a windy day i do! lol
guest
It’s not too hot where I live even if it is SoCal, and I like the idea of wearing a scarf in the summer. If the fabric isn’t too heavy, I would definitely wear one.
guest
no way too hot in houston

Maybe on a cool, breezy day. I won’t be spending my money on one unless it’s on sale. I think the look can be cute, but I would probably try it in the fall.
guest
when it’s not too humid sure.
guest
it depends on the material of the scarf. if it’s light, then it could look cute on some outfits.
guest
omg! i love scarfs wherever whenever!! it can get pretty hot in the summer but when i spend the day indoors somewhere or if the weather gets a tad bit cooler, ill find some way to squeeze it in! haha
guest
they’re good when you’re going in and out of buildings with AC LOL
guest
it’s too hot for scarves here so no, I wouldnt do so.

It’s too warm for scarves.
guest
I think they can be pulled off, but personally I wouldn’t wear them during the summer. It’s too hot where I live.
guest

oh, yesterday I looked like that, I took a scarf with me for visiting the church, but seems like I looked glamorous in my casual style.
guest
i think thing scarves are cute during the summer and then think scarves are cute during the winter
guest
It’s cute. but sometimes in the summer, it’s just too hot to wear anything around your neck, especially scarves.
guest
Those girls in the pictures just look silly. In Indiana we wear scarves in the winter, to keep the cold wind off of our necks. I really don’t see any reason for them in the summer heat and humidity.
guest
Summer scarves are ridiculous. Don’t we look forward to summer because we can get away with less? It kind of makes about as much sense as the girl wearing shorts, sandals and a big puff jacket in the dead of winter. But I suppose if it looks good with the outfit, thin scarves would be okay. Here in Arizona, you would suffer a heatstroke however.

Scarves in the summer time? Who are they kidding?
guest
I think the other kinds of scarves are hot.. the ones you wrap around your neck and it sticks out instead of dangling. haha

@xnotxbeautifulx@xanga - Your logic makes no sense…If you dont like showing too much skin, then why would you wear such a revealing shirt to begin with?? Wear something, that is not so revealing. From a guy’s perspective, I think it looks stupid. It looks unneccessarily flamboyant, and it makes you look pretentious. Ive seen girls in tank tops, an they have that stupid scarf on, if its that cool then why are you even wearing a tank top in the first place? Obviously you should have on a long sleeve shirt. But i guess thats too hard to figure out. Women an common sense, they just dont go together. I know im gonna get alota shit for that one but i dont care lol
guest
@DevilDog09@xanga - haha women don’t make sense
just going to point that out. I love scarves b/c they are stylish (in the right place) and fun. and I’m not talking about winter scarves but style scarves, there is a difference.
guest
I am obsessed with scarves. I have so many. It just really depends on how hot it is and where you live. I’m from CA and visited my cousins in FL and it was like 90 something degrees everyday. You should definitely not wear scarves there! way too hot!
guest
There are some really really light scarves that are great (unless it’s humid…then that’s too much). I work at a stall that sells scarves and it all depends on the material. As long as it’s light, it won’t be too much of a bother in the summer (of course, if it’s 100% humid I say ditch it).

I guess they are cute, but I still say they’re a not. Stores now have huge racks of every design of scarf and frankly I think they’re just a waste of material. Love them in the fall and winter though.
daisy / 723 posts
not… It makes me think oof last summer : I was ill because of the climatisation ! so I had to wear a scarf (and to take a lot of hankerchief…) : not hot.
cherry blossom / 48 posts
i like it.
i wear them with basic tshirts or tanktops to spice them up.
guest
As long as the material of the scarf is light, then it’s fine.
guest
HOT!
Scarves work summer and winter. Different scarves for different season. but it worls all year.
