There is no natural beauty anymore, and no appreciation for talent. It pisses me off that T-Pain and Kanye West get credit for being talented “singers” when it’s computers that create the sound. The world will get bored of these trends and revert back eventually… but the weight of it will still be a downer while we’re stuck in it

I totally agree with you, it’s totally true. You’re famous if you have connection and it’s not even about talent anymore, as long as you have luck and don’t sound/act horrible then they’ll choose you. It’s the same with guys, guys love trashy girls for some reason.

I’d be more likely to agree with this article if it wasn’t a picture of Megan Fox up there.
Nevertheless, I can relate to this, since I thought about that a lot in my early teens. But think about it, who are the ones who have long careers? I doubt we’ll still hear about Paris Hilton in 10 years, but women such as Céline Dion have succeeded, without necessarily being breathtaking. People are still chosen because they have talent, and they are most likely to actually make a career out of entertainment.
Anyway, the media industry is very focused on appearances, covers of a pretty girl sell quicker than if plain Janes were featured. So maybe that’s not the right domain for someone who is very against superficiality.
Also, I apologise if my syntax and grammar are horrible, blame it on my Frenchness.

Trust me, I am on the cheerleading squad at school and hear my teammates talking about how they wished that they looked as good as the girls on the cross country team after a run. Some people can be sweaty and their hair is a mess but they still look gorgeous.

well, entertainment is entertainment after all. people pay for it, and pay high prices, because it’s not what you see in the average regular person. entertainment is art. that’s what that industry is all about. and art is about creating something. and when ppl create something, they create to what they imagine. and that image they think of is their standard of perfection. so what they create must become what they imagine it to be.
people pay to indulge in perfection, because it’s unrealistic. it spices up our routine lives.

and on top of that, business is business. everything is a business. and in the entertainment industry, perfection is what sells. can’t help it.

but im sure there will be huge changes in the future. if you’re truly talented, people will notice.

I don’t envy the girls you’re talking about at all. Their appeal is only temporary. When the rest of their body fades and their implants stay the same, they’re going to look horrible and be rejected because they have nothing to offer.

Class, on the other hand is forever.

Look at Audrey Hepburn. Easily the classiest woman during her day and she’s still envied – decades later. Twenty years after Megan Fox dies, I doubt she’ll be remembered much, if at all.

If you have self respect, it shows through. Self respect buys you more than boobs, butt, blow job-lips, long legs, and high heels ever will. To me, these girls you’re talking about have no self respect. They’re looking for validation through any means necessary. And the easiest way for quick validation is to be lusted for.

i think that meagan fox is pretty. i think that trashy is more like booty shorts and extremly low cut shirts, not nessesarily big butts and boobs. and some singers do have beautiful voices, like taylor swift, carrie underwood, david archuletta, ect.

I think trashy is a bit harsh of a word.  I understand what you are saying in a way.  Just keep one thing in mind, the images you see in the media are just that, images.  They have nothing to do with reality.  They are images of the entertainment business.  They have very little to do with reality.

Uh, I dunno if trashy applies but I get the jest of what you’re saying. It annoys me too to see someone who barely has any talent (or brains) making billions just because they’re pleasant to look at. (Many times only because they’ve undergone lots of surgeries to look that way.)
On the other hand this isn’t really a new trend. Marilyn Monroe is a prime example. Sure she was talented but she could’ve been much more if the studio had invested as much time into cultivating her talent as they did her blond bombshell persona.

Yeah, they get more attention, but is it good attention? Megan Fox will never win an Oscar because everyone knows the only thing she’s good at is being a good body; that’s why she’s in Transformers (guy flick) versus something that needs better acting skills. Lindsay Lohan gets attention because her life is a trainwreck.

I don’t want to be known as the girl who only serves as a masturbation tool. That’s pretty much what Megan Fox is. I don’t want to be known as the coke addict who can’t keep her life together, like Lindsay Lohan.

And they get old or something newer comes along, they will be replaced.

I don’t think trashy is the right word, not necessarily. I’m sure that plenty of them are trashy, however in this situation I think you meant unnatural. Just because a woman has a big chest and a nice derriere doesn’t make her trashy or anything, nor does it mean that either body part is fake.

Most women in the media are fake. They put on a fake personality. They’ve got fake implants. They get regular botox injections. They’re constantly on crash diets. They’re getting fake tans all the time. Etc. I could go on and on. They’re so busy trying to remain “beautiful” that they’re losing what’s natural about them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, however. They may see themselves as beautiful while others may not.

Now, think of this. If someone could choose between a natural girl who has had nothing done to make her look beautiful, and a woman who looks the same – but she’s had all sorts of plastic surgery to get that way — who do you think they would choose? They would choose the natural one without a doubt. Nobody sets out purposely to find someone who’s fake.

It’s not that fake women get everything, or “trashy” women as you put it. It’s just that there aren’t many women who are graced with the ability to be that “pretty” without a ton of help. There are many women out there who are far more beautiful than Pamela Anderson ever was, or Megan Fox, but they choose to not go into the spotlight.

I would much prefer to see some natural beauties though. Not just to promote being natural, but just because natural is so much better.

Okay, so if you mean “trashy” as in Britney Spears kind of trashy, flashing her stuff to the world, then.. I think they’re just so preposterous that they get the attention. If someone who was classy went around doing that they’d get the spotlight too.

I do think that sex sells, and these girls know that.  And everything these days is photoshopped or covered up with a synthesizer if you’re talking about music.  Is it unfair? Maybe. Maybe not. These things, as one poster above me said, are NOT reality.  They are there to sell and image and a product and an idea.  We live in a capitalistic society and whatever sells gets put on display. So if you want fame, as you say, just be sure you can handle the heat and the pressure of people wanting you to put out provocative music or racy pictures or sex scenes in a movie.  Are the girls who achieve this “trashy”, or do they just want to keep the spotlight on them for as long as possible? (As is in the case of Megan Fox, I believe-now Lindsay Lohan and Paris are unquestionably trashy because of their actions but all I’ve seen from Fox is a few risque pictures.)

Do “trashy” girls get everything? Not in the real world.  I’m a smart girl, not a hot/trashy one, and I’ve been able to maneuver myself out of many situations without flashing my 36 C’s.

This sounds like a rant born of pure jealousy and desperation for attention.  And I disagree with it too.  Case in point: Natalie Portman.  She’s far more respected and desired in every way compared to the Megan Fox’s.

I don’t think that trashy would be the right word to use, but I know what you’re trying to say. My idea of trashy is a white girl with booty shorts on and a low cut short and wal-mart flip flops. But you’re right, it isn’t fair that nothing is about true talent or beauty anymore. You only get in if you have the connections, and other people can take care of your faults for you.

Trashy beauty does not really rise high. I can’t speak with complete knowledge because obviously I’m not a guy…but trashy girls are easy. Which makes them not valuable, and men talk about them behind their backs with trashy words.

if a girl gets implants she needs to re do them every 10 years (it becomes a lifestyle) and her boobs lose feeling. and then theres the possibility of dying if the boob pops or just from the surgery itself

and yes trashy girls get all the fame but with fame comes a price. imagine being in a famous person’s shoes. u think a rumor spread about you NOW is bad, imagine it being printed in People magazine and distributed for the entire nation to see. you have absolutely NO privacy for the rest of your life if you’re famous. any type of hardship you go through or anything embarrassing that you do, you can never get away from it. i would much rather not be famous, at least i can mess up once in a while without having it shoved down my throat by the nationwide media and gossip.

I dont 100% agree with you here. I think that your labeling “trashy” is a bit… harsh. If you really think about it, all the actress’ out there go through a lot to get where they’re at. They just didn’t become famous in 1 day because of their fake chest, botox, and all that shinanagans. The “natural” beauties and true talents are the ones that are too picky. They dont want to do gigs, they want the real deal right away. I think that sometimes the people with the “real talent” are the ones that are just throwing away their opportunities because they are a lot more insecure than the others labeld as “trashy”. Just my opinion. Everyone has their lime light. I guess like they say, “Good things come to those who wait.” Or simply, they just dont take it when it’s there.

Just because someone has T and A doesn’t mean they’re trashy.  Trashy is trashy, not being what is considered “attractive.” And, just because someone takes care of themselves and likes to look good and feel confident, doesn’t make them trashy. Trashy is skank-whore, belly button ring and thong hanging out.  Wearing makeup and dressing nice is not trashy.

I don’t completely agree with your article but seeing all the responses about how great Fox is (from girls no less! I can understand dudes who read Maxim being into her type… but girls!) I had to do something about it . Lately people have been obsessing over this no-talent bimbo whose only ability seems to be talking about how much she loves SEX in every interview and trying really really hard to channel Angelina Jolie (who I don’t even like).

look, i’m not going to say whether or not megan fox is trashy but at the end of the day, the reality is that attractive people will get more breaks than people that are considered unattractive. now that’s not to say that this determines their material and personal success. it’s just that because they get more of these breaks, they get more chances to climb up every rung of the ladder. it doesn’t mean that you won’t get your chances but they’ll probably be alot less in number.  

if it’s good luck and good breaks that you desire, then, I hope you get it – and most importantly, use those breaks to your full advantage.

I agree that trashy people get everything, and by cheating, too.  That is what’s really unfair.  People are so superficial and only looking at the unimportant exterior.  All they talk or care about is how pretty or handsome someone is.  How about personality? That should be the priority.  Why don’t they ever care if the person is nice or not.  When a celebrity is rude or arrogant, why don’t they ever say or do anything about it.  I think the trashy people should be punished, not rewarded.

In regards to the media…

…I believe they play a role in the way we view beauty today and how society thinks we should ideally look like. The truth, however, is that the type of beauty the media endorses is hard to come by in natural form. Photos of models and actors and anyone on magazines undergo photoshop editing (even when it’s not necessary). People who have money achieve perfection through implants and cosmetics and whatever synthesis they can buy.

…but that’s the media’s job. The media is mainly based on visuals–and so they want something pretty to endorse. I think a pretty, photoshopped picture of “that one chick from that awesome movie” would sell more than some unknown and regular-looking face. It might sound like a sad fact, but it doesn’t mean people can’t appreciate true beauty when they see it.

I don’t believe true beauty is becoming more and more invisible. I think the fact that the media endorses all this “trash” just makes it seem as if “trash” is common when it really isn’t. The media doesn’t express what a majority of the world thinks, and I’m pretty sure most women (and men) today can distinguish the fake from the natural.

Besides…in the real world, trashy girls don’t get everything. It’s only in the entertainment world that looks can overcome bad personalities and lack of talent.

As for Megan Fox, who I absolutely have to comment on since her picture is posted…

She’s beautiful, no doubt. She’s nice to look at, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with appreciating a physically beautiful person. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with cosmetic surgery, either (depending on the reasons you get them and the level of your confidence–cause I wouldn’t mind getting a nose job so long as I care more about my personality and how I treat people)…but that’s totally irrelevant. I can’t believe you put a picture of Meghan Fox up there. I’m assuming you’re labeling her as “trashy” and she isn’t. I have seen some of the most natural pictures of her. As in candid photos. Her out on the street, walking into a store. And, I don’t think that cosmetically altered people technically mean trashy. Some people have gotten nose jobs without taking it to the extreme of cheek lifts, face lifts, brow bone work, ect ect. Plus, some people who have big breasts actually were just made that way.

One day, our view on beauty will change, just as in has from time to time. It’s obvious that the kind of girls society considered beautiful in the 50′s are different from now. Girls we figured attractive in the 70′s were different from the girls in the 50′s. One of these days maybe we will get to natural beauty. I agree on your side that it should be that way, but I don’t actually think the women people consider beautiful today can also be considered trashy.

First off, Megan Fox – perfect example of trashy in my opinion. Let’s face it ladies/gents, she may be hot, but she ain’t worth a damn (in my opinion) past that. She’s put in movies as the sexpot, doesn’t really have much acting ability, and really is only in the media because she’s got looks that would give Angelina a run for her money (although I find Angelina tons classier than her, but that’s another story…)

I think it’s absolutely tragic that the pre-teens and teens of our age don’t have more respectable role models in the media. Even the people we thought would be most innocent i.e. Miley Cyrus, have turned against us and transformed “trashy” into the Hollywood norm. We really should have people out there like Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johannson, Keira Knightley, and Anne Hathaway, who are beautiful but don’t have to expose every piece of flesh they have. Girls these days are using cellphones at 8, dieting at 9, and wearing make-up at ten (at least in CA) and I think that it’s horrible. It’s time the good girls come up and rise against the bad girls

Though I do have a large chest, it’s real, I don’t flaunt it and I’m a good girl. Somehow I feel like you have to be skanky to get attention. It’s just in guys nature to look and be attracted but I know some guys like the natural look and hate a lot of make up and fake stuff. So hang in there, it happens. Not much we can do.

On another note, in that pic Megan is pre-nose job, post-restalyne, and decided to draw on her lips with dark liner. She’s actually surprisingly beautiful before her nose job. It obviously “needed” to be done so that she would photograph better, but her old nose does not take attention away from her other facial features. The eyebrows are a little harsh, but that can be fixed with makeup remover.

I don’t know how big boobs, nice teeth, and whatever that other thing you mentioned makes one trashy, but I don’t really believe they get everything. I disagree to an extent, and I agree to an extent. When it comes to modeling though, the only things you need are height, nice teeth, uniqueness, and versatility in your expressions. There are plenty of real people to balance out the fake ones in my mind. Perhaps I am overly optimistic about that. 
Me for example, people are envious of my body because I have large boobs, good proportions, adequate bum, and a tiny waist, but the thinness I have is a result of endless sickness (not anorexia or bulimia), and my boobs aren’t fake, just a hassle. Generally people find my body attractive, but to me it’s disgusting because it’s the result of my rapidly deteriorating health. You never know why people look the way they do. I’m not fake; I’m just dying faster than a lot of others. Not to throw a pity party, just saying. 
I find Mister Rogers is the best way to go on this. You should read his book. Maybe you’ll feel better.

Someone commented on how the images are merely images, and they have nothing to do with reality. True…but not quite. I mean, the fakeness of it all, the touch-ups…of course none of it is reality… But the problem – the frustrating bit for women – is that people mistake those images for reality, or forget that none of these celebrities look like that naturally. It suddenly finds its way into our reality, and women feel the pressure to look like that because…well, looking sexy is the way into a man’s pants, right?

I agree with you somewhat. Its not that these girls aim to be trashy, well some of them don’t. But the way I see it is that they’re unsatisfied by their own looks and they want to be the “natural beauty” instead of looking like a troll. That’s the only excuse you should have for getting beauty operations. But if you’re already beautiful and you don’t think so, and you want to get surgery, go see a therapist because there’s something wrong with you.

@Agent - Kanye really can’t sing and he openly stated he used the auto-tune thing to sing most of his songs. So it’s not like he’s hiding it. If you listen to some of his earlier work, you’d notice he’s a pretty sucky singer. I can’t speak very much for T.I. seeing as I’ve only heard him try to sing one time; and it was pretty borderline. At least neither one of them is as bad as JA Rule.
They aren’t singers in the first place. They’re talented rappers.

Anyway,getting back on topic, trash is sadly in. Women with pounds of makeup on that take the Alexis Vogel look to new heights. It’s a shocker to see some of these same celebrities without all their makeup on. And it’s going to be a scary scream when they’re all old and wrinkly and their skin begins to back track from all the pore clogging.

Women sadly seem to have to be all dolled up or have some kind of superficial factor about them to get noticed. And if by chance they DO get noticed, there’s a team of scrutiny to make them “perfect”.

Well, why apply makeup or pluck your eyebrows?  There are many degrees of “fake.”  As far as I’m concerned, if I can see it and/or feel it, then it is as real as it gets.

I find the notion that one shouldn’t try to reach the pinnicle of physical beauty confusing. Even if you were born with an immeasurable IQ above 200, would you be worth anything if you never openned a book or tried to learn something? Would the most invincible genetics win a triathalon if you spend your life on a couch? Would you finally achieve idealized perfection of beauty if you did not have proper hygiene, diet, and use all means available to maintain your looks and hide imperfections?

Fairness has almost nothing to do with this equation.  It’s been a long time since I have considered “fairness” in an objective sense.  However, that is not to say that I do not consider “fairness” when making my decisions both a politic manner that is palatable others.  Yet, my underlying framework never ceases to be market-oriented.

As with most things in life, beauty is a market (note, I am not using the term interchangeably with “commercialized”) –and the “trashy” girls have the limited supply what is most highly in demand.  For instance, let us say that there are a group of ten boys and ten girls.  Eight of the ten boys want a girl that has large breasts, while only three of the girls have mammaries of sufficient size to qualify as “large”.  Those eight will compete most heavily for the attention of those three and will seek to differentiate themselves from their competition in any way possible.  Since there is scarcity in this market, no longer does the girl have to settle for a guy that will just be with her.  She can have, by virtue of excess demand and the competition generated among them, the pick of the litter, so to speak.  On the other hand, the guys, seeking to outdo one another, will strive to win her attention.  The artistic one will sing for them, the jock will perform athletic feats for them, and the one with money will lavish it on her.  Now, since this is a “game” (as in game theory) with multiple rounds, the girl will soon learn that she is in demand and will, herself, require higher and higher levels of achievement in order to give herself to a guy.

However to a guy who understands the prevailing economic data of this set-up has three options:  he can compete and win (or lose), he go after the less attractive women and score an almost sure victory, or he can create market failure and hope for the best.  While the first two are almost self-explanatory, the last one needs some fleshing out.  As the girls that are in high demand will come to expect every guy to compete and fuss over them, they will become bewildered when a guy is totally aloof and mostly ignores them.

The girls that are left out–and this is why almost all really ugly girls are either slutty or prudes–have two decisions:  they can compete on the cost of their affections or they can refuse to play the game.  By making the cost of their affections very low, they can subsequently have many men, but will not be able to hang onto them for very long as the low cost (in time, abilities, money spent, affections, etc.) of having sex with them creates, in the mind of the guy, the understanding of that girl as a low value good.

But is it okay to imply that just because these women have fame and fortune they shouldn’t have insecurities and hang ups? They should be happy with their lot in life? They shouldn’t be like you or me, and everyone else in between? They shouldn’t want bigger breasts like I do, or perfect teeth, or a smaller waist? Because they’re famous. Right.

News flash, honey. Nobody is happy with themselves as is. No matter how confident a person is, there is always one thing (even something as inconsequential as ‘I wish my teeth were a bit whiter’) that a person would like to fix about themselves. Of course people should go about fixing things like their pant size in a healthy way, and they should get plastic surgery for the right reasons, but there is nothing wrong with gaining a little self confidence through medical means. It doesn’t make you trashy to get breast implants, unless you go overboard on size.

The real problem is that we, as a society, put these people on pedestals that they don’t deserve. They’re only people, just like the rest of us. We just don’t have a job that lets Steve in Idaho know who we are, what we’re doing, who we’re dating, where we shop, and our likes and dislikes.

Well at first I was going to agree with you but I’ve changed my mind. One, I don’t like the word trashy, or at least your definition. I also don’t believe Megan Fox is trashy, but she isn’t attractive either. I have in time believed that girls who were extremely attractive got everything they wanted. I’ve seen it. It bothers me because I thought people like intelligence. Well whatever the case may be, I’m ignored all time.

If you want to have fake boobs, etc. all the power to ya I say, but just do the research very, very thoroughly. So many people have gone in for upgrades on themselves and it becomes a lawsuit, because they get a botched job.

I have no idea how anyone, unless they are rich, can afford to change themselves physically. It’s hard enough paying for teeth cleaning and checkups and meds and all that stuff, how the heck can they afford to pay that much for fake boobs?

I see the world the way you do, however, I try not to let it get me down. I know when I look in a magazine, more then likely that person has been airbrushed of all assumed flaws and imperfections, and their neck has been elongated, and their shoulders slimmed out, and their stomach pulled in, etc. Oh the wonders of software.

That’s one thing I refuse to do as a photographer. I will not over edit peoples photos so they are so airbrushed they look like they came out of a magazine. At first it was just advertisements that were heavily airbrushed, but now it’s every picture you see nearly. Laugh lines a beautiful, freckles are beautiful, dimples, etc.

first of all, forget models, they’re useless figure heads >.> actors, singers got where they are by using some form of skill that they have to capture the world’s attention, but unlike what you said, their skills aren’t fake they just deteriorate over time as the person gets consumed by publicity and personal pleasures that they forgot the very reason why they’re there so the skills deteriorate and they find ways to “perfect” themselves to get more publicity. It has nothing to do with being “trashy” or beautiful, its about finding a way to show yourself to the world, and that is not a easy task. You need something worth capturing the world’s attention and more importantly you need the courage to stand out in front of millions of judging perspectives.

I think this is worded a little unfairly. I do agree that the way people are becoming famous is unfair. People who lip sync, use autotune, or use machines that aren’t instruments to make music are NOT musicians in my opinion. On the other hand, I don’t think it’s right to down on people who get a breast augmentation or cosmetic teeth. A lot of people (NOT ALL) get these things because it helps them feel better about themselves. My cousin is not famous, is married with a child, and has everything she wants in life. However, she has been self conscious about her breast size for years. And I agree that small breasts didn’t fit her body type. I think it’s a personal decision for a lot of people to boost their OWN self confidence, not to impress everyone else. And with the media constantly downing on celebrities, I can see how that would lower their self esteem. And with teeth, that one’s simple. If you had messed up teeth, tell me you wouldn’t want them fixed so you had a pretty smile. I mean seriously…come on. And I don’t mean any of this in a bad way, I’m just expressing my opinion on the matter. And where you said they use diet pills, a lot of them might, but many of them have personal trainers and work out every week and eat right. I had a friend who has tried 7 different “AMAZING” diet pills that had no effect on her. I completely agree with you, but I don’t think that they get “everything.” It all depends on what you want. While I agree that it might seem like everybody likes what you call “trashy” girls, the women who earn true respect are those that use their intelligence and who conduct themselves in a respectable manner. The women that are elected into office, the women who become judges, doctors, engineers… the women that good men want to be the mothers of their children… these are not the “trashy” girls. They are bright women who understand the difference between the right way and the wrong way to achieving your goals.

Family works at Burbank Studios, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros., Columbia, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Paramount, and HBO etc.  My family also dabbles in the Music Industry and one has won a grammy for film score–you know he wrote the music for a movie.  I was always on the movie sets growing up, its nothing new to me.  What you are asking is 100% true and it is because Hollywood is liberal, self-serving, and full of lust and greed.  And the rest of society is naive, willing to suck it all in, and glorify these people.  If you continue to watch their movies, listen to their music, make a big deal about all that they do, you are giving them what they want and reaffirming to the industry to keep doing what they’re doing…keep producing more and more.  Ask yourself, how have you supported any of this.  What was the last magazine you bought?  Movie watched?  Yearned for “their” spotlight?

It depends on what they do with their beauty, too much of a good thing isn’t going to help. 

There are a lot of women who are natural, and who are famous. Ellen Degeneres, Nathalie Portman, Catherine Heigl (however you spell that)…. and while super-beauty is of course the norm, that’s just how life is.  You can either whine about it, or you can accept it, but see the true value in things, and try to make it better by setting a better example.

Also, if you regard Hollywood culture as the ideal, then I’m afraid you’ll probably be disappointed in life a lot.  There are far better aspirations than in that field, to really contribute something, in my opinion.

I think people let Hollywood and the rest of the entertainment industry create their expectations for them.  Sure, “trashy” people become stars because that is what sells.  It’s controversial and it’s what hooks people because controversy is exciting.  

For the vast majority of us who are not in the spotlight, I think the “good,”"bad,”"trashy” boy/girl labels hurt us.  It’s a set of expectations created by others that we then choose to live by.  
That “trashy” girls get all the attention has nothing to do with fairness.  If you want others to notice you, you’ll have to make yourself more visible.  And it’s easy to do that without being “trashy” or even changing who you are.  

    I can agree with you, but you know what they say, “the harder the battle, the sweeter the victory. Personally, I prefer natural girls, it never really made much sense to me as to why people would allow the media take advantage of the way the feel about themselves to such an extreme.

   I’m sure you have probably taken all of this in to account to one degree or another, but I just felt I should let you know that there are people who can identify with you on a lighter level. I also take offense that girls who are in shape and therefore have attractive bodies are considered trashy or fake. I’m very athletic and therefore have very good measurements. Not in an arrogant way, but I consider myself attractice. And I’m far from trashy. I’m going to school to teach gym class. Not a trashy job. I also have a very good bust-waist-hip ratio. If having a nice body that I earned simply from working out makes me trashy, then so be it. I eat everything I want-cheetos, oreos, fast food, you name it-but I’m physically active enough that I don’t gain weight from it. Not trashy…just motivated.

I agree with you for the most part. But I also do believe that for every trashy-fake girl, there is about five truly talented, truly beautiful girls as well.. They’re just not the first to be noticed. Classic beauty is hard to find nowadays, as many of those girls are told they need to be tan and perfect to be considered “beautiful”.

Megan Fox isn’t classy by any means, but when I think trashy, I think Shanna Moakler. I don’t think getting cosmetic procedures done or taking weight loss shortcuts are things that make a person trashy. People take those roads because they want instant gratification as far as improving their appearance in their own eyes goes, or the eyes of whoever is hiring them.

Real trashy behavior like going commando or DUI after DUI gets attention because scruntinizing the crappy decisions of celebrities (see: largely admired people) boosts people’s self esteem. Which, don’t get me wrong, sucks. Where’s our Audrey Hepburn?

Trashy girls do not always get what they “dont deserve”. Even if they are trashy, they still worked for it. And as a girl who, because of being well endowed (naturally I might add) Im being asked all the time why I got implants and looked down upon. I didnt get implants and not all women who are beautiful are fake. I know many many girls who I’ve known since childhood who are the most beautiful creatures you will ever know and not a thing about them is fake. And I like to think that Im a fairly attractive woman as well. We work hard for what we have and, according to what you described, would be placed in your catagory of trashy women. Regardly of how you feel about their looks, you have to remember that these women worked hard for what they’ve accomplished. Nothing in this world is handed to you, or me, or anybody. And if you like the artificial voice, that’s okay (a little disappointing, no doubt, but still okay). I’d just stay away from going to one of their concerts, because live, they’re not as good. But there are plenty of good artists who don’t change their voice digitally. You just have to look past the radio station and the popular songs (because hey, in my opinion, hip hop and rap sucks).

i think that there are many many beautiful people in the world, and a lot of them are famous. drew barrymore is one. there’s a few others too. granted, no one is perfect, and most of the girls that are or seem to be just use that as their image. there’s a lot of perfect girls out there that choose to stay hidden too

having big boobs and butt doesn’t automatically make you a shoe-in for modeling or anything else for that matter.
it’s hard for anyone to get hired nowadays for anything, so it’s probably not against you personally or your ‘look’.
it’s true, the appreciation for natural beauty is dying.

if you aspire what they have(ie fame/attention), then yes the world and genetics have given them an unfair advantage over everyone else. Unfortunately our fast-paced society of today resulted in the general public’s shortened attention span, which means the flashier the better.

But don’t despair. Find what is special about yourself and live through it fully each day. You’ll be a much happier and well-rounded person than those whose egos are thin and only held up by the constant attention they recieve.

I think it’s also more a personality thing.  Good people are hard to find, whether it be friendships or relationships you’re talking about.  The trashy girls aren’t necessarily succeeding — they’re just finding trashy guys and sucking up shallow fans and fame to fill the holes.  I do think we should focus more on true beauty and stop rewarding the bad behavior of celebrities with even more attention though.  There’s something to be said for sweeping some things under the rug…

I see that the “celebrities” who are presented as the epitome of pretty are very much all the same and there’s no uniqueness. Same with boring, shallow and all the same pop “music”.
To me real beauty is something unique that shines from inside, something unique, deep and graceful in the face and eyes, I’m not sure how to describe but I recognize such types when I encounter them [and more often I see them among people in my real life than in the media!]

Movie star or models in contrast, need looks in order to survive in this trade.. Think of it, who else in this world, does not want natural beauty? Born to be beautiful?… But not everyone are born to be beautiful. Think of the ugly ones. They might be rejected or being neglected. In alternatives, they might turn to aesthetic needs. Lets dun discriminate, they have their rights.

Moreover, it is not easy to achieve that, to engage in a surgery, there is pain, risk and downtime involved. The downtime usually lasts for months. Besides, it is not cheap to do that. There is a price tag for beauty.

Besides, I don’t consider myself uber glam and am pretty low maintenance — I still make a decent living as a model.  A lot is done with make up and photoshop so don’t use the fact you dont have fake breasts as an excuse for why you’re not famous.

I’m not glamorous, tiny, gorgeous or anything, but I don’t envy anyone.  I guess it’s all about perspective.

I absolutely agree. I never understood the hype surrounding girls like Megan Fox. Yes, I agree that she’s hot, but she’s certainly not worthy of titles like “the most beautiful woman on earth” that people often bestow upon her. And people may argue that she has standards and works hard at what she does, but what I see is a girl who does not present herself as the best role model. She uses crude language whenever she wants to get some point across because she lacks the intelligence and eloquence to do so, and she doesn’t hesitate to let people know what kind of lifestyle she has – example: proudly proclaiming that she had a crush on a female stripper.

You don’t have to be snorking crack off a hooker’s back and wearing next to nothing to be seen as “trashy”. Sometimes it takes something as little as spewing profanity towards Disney after Miley Cyrus’s vanity fair photo fiasco (yes, Fox did just that)

I have always preferred classiness and subtlety, but apparently those aren’t considered attractive traits anymore. It’s sad.

I agree with you 100 percent. In addition to having to look like a barbie doll (which i never have found to be beautiful), we as women are also not supposed to age….ever. we are supposed to still have our tight little bodies with perfect breasts and a nice firm ass at age 80. THEN on top of it, there is more pressure on women to be thin than men. As a lesbian, i would like to say that I prefer REAL women. I dont want a thin little twig that has her head shoved up her ass. Curves. That is what make women beautiful. Think of the women of the old. Painters would spend days painting curvier women, larger built, with small breasts. and quite honestly i find that to be absolutley hands down beautiful. I am jealous of women that are able to have a curvy body. So flaunt it and be proud. Your are a REAL woman. and curves are what make women artistic.
