Yeah, these pictures are definitely “nots” but there are some cute tube tops out there. As long as they don’t give you the pinched armpit fat, or “Pinchboob” as I like to call it, they CAN be alright. Especially if something is worn over them, like a summer weight cardigan. 

I don’t like them… but it depends on the girl & the style of the tube top. If I would ever have to wear one, I’d wear one that wasn’t so tight (think American eagle/Hollister tube tops that are kind of loose & all flowy) WITH a cardigan on top. I dont wanna look trashy =]

I tend to say NOT.  They only look good on girls w/ small boobs, I’m talking A to small B here.  I have B to C and tube tops look totally trashy on me.

And girls with big boobs aren’t meant to wear them since they either sag or look squish on top… ew *gag*

I’ve only seen them look decent on fake tits since they hold up HAHAHAHA and on small boobs but then the small boobs get flattened even further so they look like ruching (my mistake LOL)

I think they’re cute.. and I agree with most girls on here. They only look cute if the woman has A or B cups or if its larger, they can cover it up without looking trashy.

I don’t think they’re tacky or anything. I actually think they’re nice and simple and can be sort of cute.

 It depends on the girl–her body shape and whether or not she can pull it off. It does not look good when people wear tube tops that are way too small for their body shape. They have the squashed look.

the girl in the red with the fake boobs, don’t look good in that tube top, because it makes her chest sag lower than it should, since she isn’t wearing a supportive bra that lifts them higher. I think strappy camisoles that hold the shirt up and racerback tank tops look hotter than tube tops since she’d have to constantly do an annoying boob-check and pull her tube top up when the top is sagging down. the girl in the white tube top pic doesn’t look good either. the elastic part at the very top of the tube top actually deflates the chest rather than accentuate it, so even if she has B-cup boobs, it makes them look smaller than they are and that isn’t exactly figure flattering. I’ve rarely seen females, whether they have small or medium or large chests, look good in tube tops. they usually look awkward and not hot to me. although to guys, they probably look sexy, since they probably find that it is hot when they see a hottie tugging at her gradually falling tube top

Well then, tacky girl over here. lol. So I’ll go with hot. I have to say though, these photos are a little biased. If I didn’t own a few tasteful and pretty tube tops myself these photos would make me say Not…there is no need to show your stomach if you aren’t at the beach, the second girl is too top heavy to be wearing a tube top, and the last tube top isn’t at all cute.

I think the ones in the pictures above look really bad. I have seen a few girls who can pull them off but they aren’t for me. I have to be sure my clothing can withstand being pulled on by little children. I did a photo shoot in a tight long sleeved shirt with a tube top over it and bell bottom jeans.. sort of a retro look. The overall effect was pretty nice.

I’m not a huge fan of the tube top; it just looks trashy. I work at Abercrombie&Fitch (and absolutely hate it) and we’ve been getting shipment after shipment of these like, sheer pastel-colored frilly tube top things that are simply horrendous.

When I went to NYC over the summer, I saw tube tops everywhere, most of the wearers should have left them at the rack.

The first and last women can pull off the tube tops, but the woman in the middle shouldn’t be wearing it. She’s not even fat, but she shouldn’t be wearing it.

Only if you’re slim, smaller-busted and have a well-defined upper body.  I’ve never seen a large-breasted or full-figured woman look good in a tube top.  I wouldn’t say it looks trashy, more like sloppy.  I wouldn’t wear a tube top because I’d spend the day yanking it up AND I would be self-conscious about my unsupported boobs.  If I have to think that much about what I’m wearing, I don’t want to wear it.

I like it as a beach cover up sort of dealy. It’s super cute w/ a bathing suit top underneath…for all sorts of chests. Since I’m a crazy small chested girl, but generally petite in the waist it kind of accentuates the fact taht I am petite – i guess some guys are into that.

The pic w/ the girl in the red…super cute, I think it still would look nicer with some sort of strap or lol bikini stop underneath.

If the tube top isn’t also a midriff bearing top, I like them. But if they show your midriff that’s just not enough fabric. And anyone showing their midriff is stupid, so matter if they’re wearing a tube top or not.

Some people can pull them off, others can’t. I think it really depends on who wears it and how. 

I used to think they were tacky too, but I think it really does depend on the girl, and yeah, I think thinner girls pull it off a little better although i’ve seen heavier girls sport them and look really nice.

if it fits well (as in, looser and longer, instead of skanky like these awful pictures) it’s perfectly okay. depending on the design itself. just be sure it doesn’t slip off or show armpit fat etc.

Since when the fuck is it trashy to show your shoulders? I’m sure most of us have worn a strapless dress at some point. Did that look trashy? 

I like tube tops, but I only like them when worn appropriately. People should know better than to wear them with shorts or anything like that. You have to balance out how much skin you’re showing. I wear tube tops (with a DDD cup, and I don’t look trashy or bad in them at all—don’t know where you girls are shopping) with jeans, and that looks fine. I don’t wear any tops that show my stomach (aside from a bikini top) because that style went out in like 1992. Not cute anymore (never was). For girls with larger breasts (like myself) you need a good bra underneath, and it looks fine. In fact, it can make your boobs look smaller since if being worn properly, it should cover up your cleavage. 

I like tube tops, but only certain kinds.  Some are horribly made, which is why they’re sold for about $5, and squeeze in all the wrong places.  The good ones, though, are…yeah, good.  It depends on the person wearing the piece, of course, but if it’s a quality tube top, I still think it’d be hot.

They look nice on women with small boobs and when the stomach is completely covered.  I personally don’t wear them, because they have to be constantly adjusted, but they can be cute.

Really depends on the girl, but I do find them very hot on the right girl. To me, I think women with big boobs do not look good in them. Smaller boobs pull this look off much better, because it keeps the woman looking slim.

The tops that are more or less a strapless top that flairs out a little on the bottom are far better looking, or wearing a cardigan with it helps. Just the top by itself though can look trashy, and NEVER with short shorts. That is just… ew.

Generally trashy, especially if you have a large chest. Wearing one in a terry cloth material or with extremely short shorts looks cheap. I own two which I wear with cardigans in Autumn and they end up looking like regular tank tops.

It can be nice, but without big boobs, without flat belly, without a too thin waist… 

I love them, but I usually wear halter tops, because I get sick of pulling a tube top back up constantly.

If your boobs are too big, you have fat behind your arm, or you’re wearing something other than jeans/capris, it isn’t for you. Showing too much looks nasty so it’s best to balance it out in my opinion.

Well I really like wearing tube tops but it does depend on the girl and size and how you wear it about with a denim skirt is wicked cute.

The two lower ones on top are fine. Belly-baring tube tops are the trashy kind.

I love tube tops. I wear them all the time in the summer, BUT when I go shopping for them I don’t buy just any tube top. the only one I have similar to any of the ones in the pictures is the red one, but I have it in black and I don’t wear it tucked in. Otherwise, any of these I don’t think I’d wear. It depends on the size of the person and the style of the shirt if it’s hot or not. As everyone has said on here, generally the girls who look hot in them have smaller boobs (I’m a B) and have a smaller frame all together.

As long as it covers the tummy area and doesn’t create that AWFUL armpit fat area….it’s ok…I agree with previous comments, it depends on the girl, and please, if you’re bigger than a C cup…understand there is no where near enough support in there for your chest….

It depends on the tube top and the girl. The tube top should be long, at least covering your navel, and it shouldn’t be too tight.

i think tube tops are really cute but only on certain body types. a tight tube top requires a thin and small-chested girl. a flowy type is really flattering to many body types.

You need the perfect balance of *ahem* boobature to work tube tops. If you’re flat-chested, there’s nothing to hold them up; if you’re voluptuous, it’s vulgar (and you look like a streetwalker).

I think it depends on the size of the girl.  Most skinny girl with average boobs can pull it off.  Larger people just look awful in my opinion.
