My friend and I are wondering what color eye shadows to wear for our Senior Prom. Her dress is a yellow — think Belle in Beauty and the Beast; she’s got hazel eyes.
Mine is cotton candy pink; I’ve got green eyes. We are both fair skinned with dirty blonde hair.
Obviously we know not to wear the same shade of eyeshadow as our dresses but what colors would work?

dedicate a day to get your make up right. that’s what i’m planning to do this weekend.
i’m going to grab all my make up & try to find a look for myself.
sorry if this didn’t answer your question.
more of a suggestion i guess?

I think that you should both stick with light gold eyeshadow.
hope this helps!

Smoky eyes look good on everyone.
But prom should be fun! Throw out those rules! It’s probably the last time you can get away with that much glitter and color and still be cute!!

I’m a fan of clean, natural looking make up for prom… Nothing too outlandish because you’ll look at the pictures and be like, “WTF was I thinking?!!” Go for plain old, natural beauty…natural colored eye shadows, nothing too heavy for eyeliner (deep plum for green eyes, metallic something or other for hazel), a little mascara, natural blush, and a pale, glossy lip will look terrific for either of you.

I think you should go for a neutral pink and she should go for some light browns. That way it doesn’t look too “in-your-face.”

I think she should go with smoky eyes (black/grey), or purple. Purple would be a really good compliment. You should do brown though!

Personally I love in-your-face makeup. I’m a big fan of something rather neutral for eyeshadow, like a light pink/eggplant color or metallic gold, then thick, dark (either black or brown, though I’ve had success with dark purple) eyeliner on the top lid. And then I choose a bold bright color that matches the dress or outfit and line my bottom lid with that. I always line my waterline with white, and I think that fake eyelashes are appropriate, for prom at least. My opinion is that people should always be able to see your eyes.

I went for smoky eyes for prom, and I loved it. If you’re not sure, smoky is always a safe bet since there won’t be any color clashing.

i deffinitely agree with everyone else. soft smoky eyes is your best bet if you’re not sure

bronze with a tint of silver in it :]

I think a smokey eye is good for anything, but if you want to be specific, purple will really make your eyes pop. I’m pretty sure it works for both green and hazel eyes, though the shade of purple will probably be something you might want to experiment with. Good luck & have fun! =]

I think smokey eyes are sexy but probably a lot of other girls will have that smokey eyed look, so something subtle, similar to how you look in your senior picture that you have displayed as your xanga profile picture, neutral shades like pastel pink but add some glitter around your eyelids for that glamourous touch:) as for your friend’s yellow gown, maybe some false eyelashes and lavendar eyeshadow.

visit taaz.com and set up a free account with them to try on different eyeshadows, different foundations, lip color, hair, eye contacts, etc. Its fun trying on different looks. It tells you the color you’re using, the price, and the brand. im sure u can even purchase the product on that website.
hope this helps

Try a light brown for the yellow dress.

if you do a deep pink/purple going into black on your eye, it would look nice. a gold going into something darker too would look nice.
that’s what i did when i had my snowball & my dress was silver and black. i didn’t want all silver or all black so i used a little of both.

Yeah, I have a yellow dress, too, but blue eyes, and I don’t know either!

As an owner of eyes that go between shades of green and hazel, I would suggest that if going for a smoky eye, use a wonderful deep purple palette.
guest
i think for your friend, green and for you, pink.

Your eyeshadow should never match your outfit.
With a pink colored dress. Go with white glitter with an underlay of pink.
What I mean is put a pink eyeshadow down then very lightly use a lotion and go over you eyes by dabbing it. Then apply the glitter. Great glitter from the department store Claries =D.
For the yellow dress, which is what color I got; super excited about that. I’m going with a brown eyeshadow or something like that.
HIH =D
[hope I helped]

I have blue eyes too. A brown will bring out those gorgeous blue eyes. Go with a dark brown or stubble brown. Either way, you can’t go wrong =D

I think some brown tones with the gold dress. And maybe a smokey eye using purple shades with the pink dress.

Okay well my best suggestion for both would be a champagne color (silver) with gold flecks in it…add a little and I do mean a little touch of the color of your dress right above the first color and then line your eyes with black. Black Mascara of course.. I suggest a natural, rose, or any light pink blush, and light pink lip color for both…. I hope you have fun! Oh and another suggestion…ur shoes aren’t the same color right? If so, you should find shoes that go with the color of your dress and not the same colored ones…if not, the PERFECT!
