I was never one of those blessed people who grew up without a spot on their faces. I struggled with acne since I was 13 years old. When it finally spread to my back (yes, the dreaded 'bacne') and the pimples started getting huge, painful, and stayed under the skin, my mother took me to a dermatologist.
Therefore, I've been on acne medication since I was 15 or 16 years old.
I'm 21 now, and I still struggle with keeping it under control. I'm on Yaz to control my hormonal levels and on Bactrim twice a day everyday. It was getting better. Until....I bought Bareminerals.
Around Christmas, I finally decided to splurge. The Bareminerals infomercials suck me in without fail every Sunday morning, and I thought it would look divine on my skin. I was right! It blends perfectly and even though I'd still get an oily sheen and have to reapply, I thought it was worth it.
Until about three months ago. My acne started getting worse. In the middle of the day, all of a sudden five to six spots would appear. The dosage of my acne medication hasn't been changed, I wash my face every night without fail- the only thing that's different is my makeup.
Has anyone else had BareMinerals break them out? Could it be the brushes they provide for you? I'd really be heartbroken if this makeup is the reason why my face is covered in little zits, because a. it wasn't that cheap, and b. it just looks so good.
I plan on doing a tester trial -- buying some cheap drug store foundation and using that for 2 weeks and seeing if the zits go away -- but I really want to know if anyone else has had this experience!
