Every year when warmer weather comes around, I always want to find the best sun lotion that will provide my skin with great overall protection from UVA and UVB rays, absorb quickly into my skin, not smell strange, and will not make my skin oily or break out afterwards.
And so far, I think I’ve found a few products that I really like.
Neutrogena® Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock with SPF 45 or 70 (pictured above)
I love the feel of this spray! It’s cooling in the hot weather and absorbs quickly into skin. The only thing I didn’t like about this product was that I had to buy 2-3 bottles during summer. But still a very good one!

Shiseido© Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion with SPF 55
This lotion was a bit of a splurge for me, but I wanted to try it. For the price, it is definitely worth it, although I think I can find lotions similar to it that would be less expensive.
It is very water resistant, and I only applied it 1x! I used it both on my face and skin too because it feels so light on my skin!

Chapstick® Lip Balm with SPF 15 or higher
I never forget to put lip balm on everyday. The skin on your lips is the thinnest; therefore, it needs the most protection. As long as it’s Chapstick, I’ll use it because it works and is cheap! This shows that you don’t always have to spend so much money to take care of your skin!

Peter Thomas Roth® Instant Mineral with SPF 30
I recently bought this product because I wanted some light coverage that would still provide me with quality sun protection. It doesn’t make my face feel dry or matte.
It also blends in with my natural skin tone! The packaging is also handy. I believe this is a must have to keep in your bag or purse for everyday use!
Have you tried these products too? Did you like them? If not, what are some beauty products you use for suncare?

Chapstick, for sure. If I really need sunscreen, though, I use Arbonne products. They’re lightweight and non-greasy, which is a necessity for me.

I hate the icky feel sunscreen gives. If I have to use it for swimming or water sports I use coppertone water babies. Most of the time though I stick to a thin long sleeve shirt and a hat.

Bullfrog is the best sunscreen that I have found.

I used to use Shiseido© Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion with SPF 55. IMO it’s really good. I never got a sunspot or anything. Now, I then switched to Neutrogena ultra sheer and it made my skin oily and I got sunspots/freckles! I’m using Kiehls sunblock & it’s really good! it’s about the same price as shiseido, though.

After spf 35 one can’t go any higher. It’s true. I took a weather and climate class and we randomly started discussing sunscreens. It can be mathematically proven. just do the research for yourself

Anyone know a good sunscreen that will prevent tans? I can’t seem to find any, have tried Neutrogena, Aveeno, etc.

I’ve tried the two sunscreens before. Though the spray one feels good, i remember that the smell was repulsive. Same with the Shiseid- it wasn’t oil (which is perfect!) but the smell was so herby.
I use Neutrogena- just don’t remember the name of the bottle. It was perfect, a standalone bottle with a pushdown handle.

SunGuard by Rit Dye. One wash with this stuff and it makes your clothes UPF 30, and it lasts for about 20 washings, making any piece of clothing sun protection gear.

I like the Shiseido spf 55 sunblock and the Peter Thomas Roth mineral powder. Both are really good products!

Shiseido spf 55 is really good, but a bit expensive

I’m so pale that I’m incapable of tanning. I wear sunblock almost everyday…except in winter (November-March)…I need spf 80…I was that kid that used a parasal in the summer…I mean…my skin will burn, turn black, and fall off. I’ll get blisters and it’s not unheard of for me to even have to be hospitalized if I burn. I’m sunblock, hat, and long sleeves all the way.

My mom uses the Shiseido just like the one pictured above. My sister uses Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF lotion that smells really nice and it goes on smooth and absorbs quickly. It’s only SPF 15 though. Has anyone else tried it?

I have the Neutrogena spray…it’s very oily. And true story. I had it in my purse on the way back from the beach and the cap wasn’t on for some reason. Anyway I was laying down in the seat and I put my leg over my purse, causing the spray to spray all over EVERYTHING. I had my phone, my camera, my NDS, and a book in there as well as batteries, and loads of makeup.
I will not buy that spray again.

@bluebear2cute@xanga Please stop giving people wrong information. I have to use Photoderm Max SPF 100 because I have xeroderma pigmentosum. It is the only strength available that I can use so I am able to get around my house! Try this site if you are looking for sun protection advice. It’s pretty good.

I’ve heard certain sunscreens do not contain healthy ingredients. Is this true?
