Do you have unmanageable hair that won’t work when you style it? Or have frizzy, dead hair cells because of all the bleach and dying or straightening you’ve done?
We’ll, I am one of those people that has that kind of problem. Ever since junior high up until after high school, my hair dying escapade started. I’ve had that bleach blond hair, even that nasty orange color that no one really wanted. It got even worst when I started to straighten it.
Here’s my solution.
If you don’t want to spend a whole lot of money on hair products, then go out and buy both Dove Shampoo & Conditioner because it really does work. No hair care products needed whatsoever. Trust me, my hair is probably worst than yours and Dove actually works for me.
My hair is really frizzy after it gets dry but the next day after using it, it’s so soft and healthy. I’ve tried other products such as Garnier Fructis, which works okay too, Pantene, Head & Shoulders…etc.
I liked Head and Shoulders too, but I’m more in love with Dove. Wal-Mart.com used to have samples on their site if you look it up, that’s where I got most of mine.
If your hair is no longer bleachable, please don’t bleach it anymore; it’ll make your hair even more dead. I can no longer bleach my hair until all the dead cells from bleaching it are gone. Just a dye to a dark or brown color for me works well. I rarely straighten it anymore, usually once a month is okay, but not everyday.
Have you ever tried Dove Shampoo & Conditioner? If you use my recommendation, how did it work for you? What other products work well with your hair?

I use “le petit marseillais” a french brand, but I like dove, it smells good.
i’ll try it next time. Thanks for the advice.

Dove is amazing, but it’s a little pricey
Their intense moisture lotion is fantastic too!

It didn’t work for me. I tried the Dove shampoo for the first time the other day. It made my head itch, and my hair is normal texture, not too dry, not oily. I hated it!

@Mercredi - ooh I’ve seen those before when I was in Lyon though I never did try it. I’m thinking of asking some of my friends to send me some!
I’m not a big fan of Dove, but I am a huge fan of Head & Shoulder!

@tigerdauphin@xanga - If you can have french products, try “le petit olivier” it’s good too. I love their products with shea butter.
Le petit marseillais is good too (we love small things lool)
@JUSTAVAPORHERE@xanga - ouch… I’m going to wait to see other opinion.

I’m not a huge fan of dove. I always use a volumizing set with an intense condition at least once a week (I used to use one by Kenra but I can’t find it anymore so I use aussie three minute miracle).
I have hair that gets highlights ALL the time, and it’s almost to that point where it cant keep getting done. I usually stay away from the straightening iron, but I refuse to give up my hair dryer. I just use a lot of product, like heat protectant.

It smells good, but I dont like them. They are probably the biggest scam company ever, and I really hate how doctors and dermatologists recommend Dove all of the freakin’ time. I find that it just makes beauty ailments worse.

I use those very products regularly, but they don’t exactly make my hair any less frizzy. I use them mostly for their subtle, clean scent.
I particularly like Dove’s lemongrass and grapefruit body bars and their Original Clean deodorant. It’s the only brand of deodorant that both doesn’t reek and keeps the armpit areas of my shirts from being too white (from residue) and sweaty. Good stuff.

I tried dove a long time ago and for me it just weighed my hair down it seemed liked. Does anyone know any conditioners for hair that uses heat alot? I blow dry my hair every day and I’ve been trying not to use my straightener as much…..

I can’t use dove at all! It makes my hair feel “heavy.” I use Garnier/John Freida/Paul Mitchell. For me, these are the best lines to use.

i like dove body soap. i’ve never tried the shampoo and conditioner though. i use garnier fructis.

@Seen_More_Spine_in_Jellyfish@xanga - I really recommend Paul Mitchell instant moisture for hydrating hair. When my hair gets too dry (from this california sun) I used the daily treatment (mask) for a couple of days & it’s nice & silky again [: I have the S&C too, but I don’t use C so much b/c my hair tends to get oily throughout the day. If my hair gets too oily, I use garnier. It cleans out my hair (even using the conditioner!) but not so much that it’s dry

i’ll give it a try

@Mercredi - I agree..I believe it just depends on what kind of hair one has, just like with makeup and skin. Some moisturizers burn my redheaded, pale face yet for others, works like a charm, lol,

I love Dove’s body products but their skin & hair care is getting out of whack. I commented about it on another post about how more people use them than expensive brands & they’re capitalizing on that. Like $30 per jar & bottle for things!! You may as well go to Macy’s.
I use Suave, VO5 & Head & Shoulders. Their stuff is good. I actually use alot of kiddie things like detanglers & creams because they have alot of vitamins in there & it works just as well (if not better) than adult haircare products, but it’s cheaper. I love Baby Love Detangler.. It smells SO good & it also has things in there to strengthen your hair. I have to relax my hair & even when a touch up is needed, I can spray that into my roots as a temporary fix when I dont have the money to buy my relaxer when I need it.
http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Love-Conditioning-Detangler-Spray/dp/B000GCUAPW That’s the link for the detangler but DONT buy it from amazon. I just put that there so you can see a picture of the bottle. Go to a beauty supply store. For the price it is on Amazon, you can get the full sized bottle cheaper if not for the same price.

@jesuismir@xanga - Where do you get your John Frieda & Paul Mitchell stuff? They tell the public dont buy it from anywhere but hair salons because it’s probably stolen or fake but the salon prices are kinda high. I miss working in a Salon because I had discounts! I want that John Frieda frizz serum because since I moved to Florida, I dont think I have good straight hair! XD

I love Dove. They’re products are amazing.

Dove shampoos are horrible, I wasted my money once and that’s enough. They should stick to body washes and soaps, they seem to be able to handle that. It’s good you found something you like but my hair felt crappy afterwards everytime I used Dove. Next!

Dove shampoo makes my scalp itchy.
Also.
Hair is dead anyway.

wow i thought i was going to give it a try but after seeing everyones comment i guess i wont….i mean everyone’s hair is diffrent so it shouldnt really stop me but i think imma stick to my normal, Right now i use Garnier Fructis and so far so good. i love the product and have no complaints about it whatsoever.

Dove was terrible on my hair. The conditioner really weighed it down, and the shampoo doesn’t do a very good job of getting rid of build up. I hated it. Absolutely hated it.
But, I do love their original beauty bar. It’s so gentle and cheap! I also like they’re “Go Fresh” deodorants and body sprays, because they smell delicious.

i use dove shampoo and conditioner, but only because they were the only thing beside garnier at costco when i went. and costco things are big. so my supply has lasted me over a year so far… hahaha. it’s alright. i haven’t had any problems with it, but i never really notice anything different when i switch from product to product anyway. i like their products in hk better though. they’re probably better suited to asian hair/skin

use dove! =)

Nice review! Funny thing: Dove shampoo has never worked for me… different hair I guess.

Hmmm… never tried it.
I use Tresemme shampoo & conditioner. It works well with my hair, making it very soft and silky than it already is.

@Shinbi_Belldandy@xanga - I got mine at CVS with the deal… (buy $15 get 5 ECB (extra care bucks – to use on next purchase)). John freida had a $2 off any JF product.. so I got 4 items for about… $0.5-3
. No lie, I used to be a CVS “couponer”, so getting free stuff from there was common (I still have tons of bottles and it’s been a year now. I do VS & BBW now). Paul M. doesn’t have any coupon..but if you get about 30 ECB.. you can get a bottle of PM for free
You can also get them at Sally’s Beauty. Macy’s has $10 off $30 beauty products once in a while in their paper ads. so yeah. plus sometimes macy’s has BOGO or B1G1-1/2off at the same time.

I only really use dove sensitive beauty bars. Very good feeling on skin and moisturizing =)
I didnt feel their shampoo was any better or worse than other shampoos, but I already have very soft manageable hair so maybe it just didnt make a diference =)

I’ve used Dove and I liked it. I change my shampoo and conditioner every time I buy more though. I never use the same brand twice in a row. Right now I’m using the Sexy Hair detoxifying pumpkin. I love it. Before that it was Tresemme heat tamer… I still use the heat tamer spray before I blow dry or straighten my hair though.

cool

@jesuismir@xanga - OMG! Thanks for telling me that!! I’m gonna try that on a good payday. I LOVE CVS too. I go there so much they know me by name XD

Haha, I use Dove 2in1 shampoo and conditioner and it works so well. Though, I don’t have a problem with my hair being it naturally straight and all, but with Pantene, H.E., and Suave… I shed like crazy and it hurts when I comb my hair. Suave… burned my scalp >.< I use Tresemme here and there, but I like Dove more… to me it’s one of the most trusting brands out there. I use Dove body wash too :3

I’ve used the Dove Daily Moisture 2 in 1 Shampoo and Conditioner before. Eh. It wasn’t horrible, but it’s not outstanding either. I switched to Aveda and I like that much better.

I think with Dove Shampoos and Conditioners it’s all about what kind you buy. I’ve found that some of the Dove’s hair care products are terrible while some are amazing. For example, the Intense Therapy shampoos and conditioners (in the dark blue bottle) are products that would astound Gods. I LOVE THEM. They’re simple nothing short of amazing. But the other Dove hair products are terrible, and I wouldn’t recommend them.
