The Post (see here), among other sources, reports that Lauren Conrad is putting her fashion line on hold. The Lauren Conrad Collection, which launched in the fall of 2007, is not seeing much traction in Kitson and Bloomingdale’s.
Lauren says that in light of the economy, she is rethinking her line. For now, shipments of the last spring and summer deliveries of her fashions have been canceled.
See the collection here.
What do you think of this new development? Are you sad to see the Lauren Conrad Collection go?

I wouldn’t wear the clothes….I am surprised though with all the people that watch her show that the clothes are not flying off the shelves

Her clothes are overpriced so I’m not surprised that it’s cancelled. Her line looks like Forever 21 but hundreds of bucks more pricier.

I’ve never heard of this person or her clothing line.

I went to the sight to see the collection. I’m not surprised to see they’re not selling. The collection is totally unoriginal and overpriced.

yeah, like everyone says… way overpriced

lol.. being on the hills does not equate to having a degree in fashion. who does she think she’s fooling?

Overpriced and unoriginal. The quality looks like crap. She should have considered the budgets of the avergae girl in her fan base. I am surprised her line lasted as long as it did.
to quote one of the commentors on the New York Post Article
“Attention K-mart Shoppers”

hahah. i agree with everyone…way overpriced and forever 21 does a better job at those designs. who would really believe that a reality star can sell “designer” clothes for several hundred dollars? go the mary kate and ashley olsen way and perhaps she’d do better.

I like her line, but too pricey.

That could be a cover up for her clothing not selling due to costs.

(:
I love LC!
But I prefer Forever21 and Wetseal.
Much cheaper!

@Erika_Steele@xanga - I don’t think it’s ‘unoriginal.’ Her designs are actually really awesome, just way too overpriced. I don’t think any of her real fans could afford one flip-flop!
guest
well i mean come on now, it’s way too overpriced and we NORMAL people can’t always be buying her stuff. we do have a limited amount of money unlike her apparently.
guest
Oh come on! Who really believes that a reality star who sold Mtv the rights to film her ‘supposed’ life cares about the economy??? It is SUCH a coverup! Her crap can’t/won’t sell and to save face her PR is just using a real problem as a scapegoat. Yet another reason not to watch her ‘show’ or any version of it.. Her whole career is a joke. Once that crap is (ever) off the air, she will (thankfully) be forgotten. What a waste.

I really like and admire her, and the clothes she sells are cute, but in all honesty, I always felt like they were way overpriced. You can buy similar items elsewhere, for a fraction of the cost. If she revamps her line and makes the stuff more affordable, I’ll happily purchase some things. She just needs to decide whether she wants to design clothing for the wealthy, and celebrities, or for the average woman.

Maybe people will forget about her “fashion career” and the fact that she went to our school. Then we won’t have to hear, “Oh, like LC!” when we answer where we go to school…

id totally buy her clothes if they werent so over priced.
guest
i think the only reason anyone would buy it is because it’s got her name on it. and i think she’s an IDIOT. so, unless you like–omigod–LOVE–the hills…. then you probably won’t see a point in buying something so unoriginal and overpriced by a person who’s probably not even designing the clothes themselves anywaysss.
@antemeridian@xanga - you definitely said it all.

cute clothes but WAY overpriced…

i don’t mind her clothes, some are cute.
why does she think she can sell a short dress for 215 dollars? I can go to express, which is still pricey and buy that same dress w/ coupons or on clearance for like 20-40 bucks.
oblivious.

oh noes!

I don’t like her clothes. How much does her average piece cost? I looked at the Bloomingdale’s website and it was all $90-$160 (which, to me, is a lot), but some of the comments on here are making it sound like they cost $200+. Am I just seeing the “cheap” ones?

awwe
I browsed through the collection, and I’ve got to say, it’s not that bad. (:
Well, good luck next time, LC.

I think her collection is darling. it’s adorable, and I would probably wear it if I lived in the states (and had money… stupid economy) where I could buy it lol

More like in light of the economy the spoiled teenagers who’d buy her medicore line have been cut off.
