It’s taken some trial and error over the years (and for some products, weeks), but I manage to find my budget beauty products that should work for everyone! Here’s my personal list:
Cover Girl Clean Pressed Powder: It’s a good foundation with Noxema ingredients, which is good if like me, you get the occasional break out. I wouldn’t worry about the smell. It’s strong in the compact but wears off once you put it on. The price varies from store to store but I got mine for about $4.50 at Wal-Mart.
Cover Girl Outlast Lip Stain: I think the complaints on this are really unfair. You want the stain to start light so you can build up the color. This feels like you have nothing on, my lips feel softer and it has a nice fruity smell. You can wear it as is or layer it with gloss or lipstick. This is $8.49 at CVS.
MAC Lipstick & Liner: Don’t freak, MAC isn’t as pricey as I thought. $14 is what I paid for Mary Kay lipstick but I like MAC better because it has a better color variety. The reason why I added it to my list is because it’s creamy and lasts a long time. I should know.
I got Cyber Lipstick and Nightmoth Liner and put it on after I brushed my teeth. I then went to bed and woke up with my lips still looking pretty and pouty. Obviously after eating you have to redo your lips but the general longevity is good. You spend less when you don’t use it as much. The Liner is $13 so $27 (pretax) isn’t half bad.
Vitamin E Cream/Crème: I got mine in big lots for $2.30! It’s good for the skin and since a little goes a long way, my 8 ounce jar will last a while. Plus at this price you can stock up. I advise this for the neck down only. I’m not sure if this can be used on the face. I know facial products use Vitamin E cream but that’s a special dose.
Vaseline Cocoa Butter Body Oil: As with Vitamin E, a little goes a long way. This was $7.49 but you use so little of it, it lasts a long time. This product has almond oils and Brazilian nut in it! If you or someone you come in contact with has nut allergies, I wouldn't’t buy this!
Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Yes! Just buy it in the grocery store. It can be used as a hair/body conditioner, used to make scrubs, just about any natural at home remedy! Make sure it’s Extra Virgin though. It may be abbreviated as EVOO, too. I use it warm on my hair when I can’t afford to buy the hair conditioners I want. The prices vary so we’ll just say $6 a bottle to make it even.
Physicians Formula Summer Eclipse Bronzer in Sunlight/Bronzer: I love this because it gives me a nice glow without being too cakey. It also doubles as a cheek color if I want them to pop without using a blush. $12.99 at CVS
L’Oreal Bare Naturale Luminous Lengthening Mascara: $9.99!! Smudge, flake & waterproof & it doesn’t make your lashes dry & brittle! I like the fact now I don’t have to go “CRAP!” if I rub my eye & I have on mascara. It won’t go anywhere & I wont lose any lashes.
$78.76 is your pretax total and that’s if you buy everything I listed! You can buy what you want all at once or buy a few pieces at a time, depending on your budget.
I hope I helped some of you ladies out!
