I wore it once.But only because it really pulled everything together. haha

sorry but no.. it’s not cute and people need to stop wearing it b/c everyone is. just like leggings – kinda gross, but incredibly hard to get rid of.

Scarves are fun, versitale and easy. Timeless and classic is used right. I think the “hipster” bit is fine, but will wear out its welcome and we will once again fall back to the classic use of scarves.

But it cost a bomb! it was fifteeen pound, which was then $30.

Funny….I’m wearing one now.

I really love it.It’s red. It has little dangly things. It makes a simple tee look nicer,and it’s actually cold enough to wear it sensibly.

But then,I also like leggings.

I have a ton of scarves that I always pair with my outfits. I have this green hipster scarf that I just adore!!! )

I think it gives my outfits a more bohemian look a la Misha Barton. Plus… it find it very casual chic to wear it with a tank top and blue jean shorts…. you could pair it with gladiator sandals.

It’s a great accessory when you don’t want to wear a necklace. )

I enjoy wearing these scarfs because I am always cold and wearing one keeps my neck warm so in turn it keeps my body warm. 

They were cool before they were abused by everyone,

They’re hot for the simple reason that they look good on everyone. However, not everyone wants to wear them which makes you cool for wearing them.

OMG, all those girls are wearing the same seashell necklace and the guys are in the same loin cloth! They all look the SAME!

Trends would not be trends without those that set them and those that follow them. And fashion would not be fashion without trend-setters and trend followers. It’d be function only, without the following form. You’d probably see balls and boobs out the ying-yang…

I dont wear them. MY MOM DOES THOUGH! hahaha she bought like two scarves at forever 21. i was like wow mom, trying to be a h&m mannequin? jk jk. ummm it’s an alright style altogether… i dont mind it.

Scarves have always been a big part of the ensemble people sport where I live in Western Washington. It’s great for keeping your neck dry when it’s raining, or pairing up as a head cover if it starts raining really hard.

It really depends.

It depends on the person and the outfit, same goes for any piece you wear. If you wear it to pull something together it can look fabulous, really it depends on if you stick to a certain style or if you’re willing to try new things.

Personally, I have like 8 of them. I love scarves<3 Mad kudos =]

It’s a fad. They look good on models because everything looks good on models. I try to be fashionable but I don’t go along with every trend, such as this one. No thanks.

I hate scarves just for fashion. I mean, it’s good to buy it cause it looks nice but wear it when it’s weather appropriate. I don’t wear this hipster scarf. I don’t like it how people wear them with tank tops or tshirts. I wear scarves to be warm.

Especially because it actually started out with Arabs… and I’m an Arab.
I mean, the kinds that have been around for as long as I can remember are the black/white and red/white which had political meanings in some place, and in other places just meant a way to hide from the sun.

It’s so played out. Sure, it looks nice, but to me, anything that’s lost its originality isn’t so fashionable. I know it’s a horrible habit, but whenever I spot someone wearing the so-called “hipster” scarf, or Abercrombie for that matter! I immediately think, oh, he wants to be in the cool crowd (in a mocking tone).

Anyway. I just feel like being silly right now.

I HATE leggings especially when 30-something year old women walk around wearing a T-shirt, flats, and leggings… that’s right, NO PANTS, just leggings. I find that 1) Disgusting and 2) Surprised that these women don’t realize that they’re in public, where everyone can see the junk in their trunk and numerous unpleasant things that we (ofcourse us, non-perverts) most definitely do not want to see.

The hipster scarf? LOVE it.  Tried it once and then slowly found that it goes well with my outfits and keeps my neck warm during school when they don’t have heating xD

if you don’t like it then don’t do it. who cares what other people decided what they want to wear

I’ve never worn this or leggings. I don’t usually follow trends either.

That dude’s scarf looks like an entire outfit. If we were still in biblical times, he’d fit right in!

Well, at first I thought they were okay.

But once virtually everywhere that I turned had a scarf in the vicinity, I’ve begun to dislike them. I have no intention on wearing one, because I think it just makes you look ridiculous. And I’ve worn some pretty ridiculous things myself, but nothing too extraordinary.

Some people, yeah, they look pretty good with it. But it doesn’t mean everyone should go out and buy one. Especially when it’s the same one. I saw about five people wearing the exact same color and pattern scarf on the same day. Seriously now ? Is that really necessary ?

So no, a definite not.

But what I find extra hilarious is that they wear that, but they frown upon some of the stuff teenagers wear, like short skirts. Well, at least it’s covering something.

some people have legitimate uses for it

a) it’s cold
b) they are a singer and want to do everything they can to protect thair vocal chords.

Hipster scarf??

i’ve always liked them even before they were in. in fact, i got my first “hipster” scarf maybe 5 years ago in asia. 

I wear scarves because they’re warm. Can’t blame me for trying to stay healthy, right?

Haha, but I agree. Way, waaaaay overdone. I honestly do like them, but just the fact that EVERYONE wears them now, makes me want to not like them. =(

It depends on what you’re wearing and if you can really pull it off. I wear them though.. I wore them before the huge fad of them came in though. I’m really getting sick of them, especially on people that just doesn’t match or is right in any manner. Honestly, people need to understand how to wear this trend.

Scarfs should be cute and fun or serve a purpose. This one does nothing for me,  I think it’s stupid. It doesn’t help in the cold, and it isn’t cute enough to help with style. Plus it’s way overdone, and for the most part should never have been worn by most people, especially men. Only certain people ever looked good wearing it to me. 

I like them…on women. They look weird on men. Same with skinny jeans.

I think it’s overplayed and overdone. It might have been trendy a year back or so, but now so many people are wearing them that it killed it for me.

I wear scarves, but the regular long knit kind that you drape over your shoulders or have to actually wind around your neck.

Ok, first off. It’s called a keffiyeh. Get it right. But yes, it is a hipster scarf.

Secondly, it is very stupid. It is out of style and has been for
awhile. Even when it was “in,” it was a stupid trend and they would be
everywhere. Anyone who still considers wearing one now is an idiot and
probably doesn’t own a mirror or know how to use one.

If you really need to keep your neck warm, there are other methods.
Such as wearing a normal scarf and not looking like an idiot.

The hipster scarf was a trend 2 years ago, done and done. Now it’s just mundane, along with waist coats, flats, trucker hats, & super v-neck tees.

Now its all about loose fit sleeveless tees, Rosary beads, moto & bomber jackets, wing-tip dress shoes and Charlie Chaplin-esque fedoras. Henley tees, skinny fit jeans, and cardigans are still in.

But bringing back trends is the trend, so who cares. Aha. Do what you do.

I think they look good, and I know I love wearing mine.
The nice thing is that I’ve never seen someone wearing one and thought “Man, that looks bad on you…”
They look nice on everyone, and makes it seem like you tried a little extra that day.
I don’t really think things that look good can be killed just because a lot of people like them…

i’m not trying to hate at all, but my personal opinion is that it’s a bandwagon trend. kids probably saw it on kanye west and brought the whole look to their friends.

I don’t own a hipster scarf; my scarf is twelve feet long and striped in multiple colors. I let it hang low enough that it almost drags the ground. 

Obviously I’m not “with it” because I’ve never seen anyone wear this out in public, and the only place I’ve ever seen anything even remotely similar to this is on Etsy.com (where they have all sorts of really nice scarves).  I like it, though, but not on the guy in that picture.  He just looks silly, but that probably has more to do with his posture.

I think it’s really popular everywhere right now, though. I see it a lot in Asian fashions, too. In fact, I think I saw it there first, so maybe that’s how it got started here? Either way, I think it’s usually pretty cute.

It depends on how they pull them off.  The people in the two pictures above don’t pull them off very well…. but I’ve seen people wearing them who look awfully good with them on.

It’s the stupidest trend since dudes started wearing their hair like roosters. It’s such an L.A. trend too. First of all, it’s a pointless accessory. You need a scarf if it’s cold….and if it’s cold, you would wear a jacket or sweater, but when people sport these neckerchiefs, they are usually just wearing a tee shirt, which means it’s probably not cold enough to wear a coat let along a scarf.  And if you are cold enough to have to need a scarf, try getting some long sleeve shirts or putting that Jack Skellington hooded sweatshirt I know you own.

So not. Is this so you can hang yourself from your own fashion misery at any given point in time? Disagree.

I really love wearing them !!! i have three, two of them I got in New York City.  But i don’t plan on continuing the trend when the weather isn’t right.  they have been a fun fall/ winter accessory !!!

I really think scarves on guys is really hot… I dunno about these hipster scarves but I’ve just really always liked scarves on guys.  Especially with a nice wool coat and one of those cool little english hats with the brim (I dont really know what they’re called) I just think its a hot look.  Especially if the guy is brunette

It reminds me of the scarves that women in their late 30s up to their elder years wear. Which is why everytime I see one, I have to turn away and laugh. I imagine the person wearing it is a little old lady with sticky candies in her purse.

I love the look! I’m in love with the love quote scarves…i kno it’s so played out, but they have the cutest in all the colors.

I’ve never seen anyone wear that but I’ve seen the Pashmina scarfs on every woman in the subway in New York City. It used to be a middle-eastern thing but now everyone has one. I HAVE ONE and it is soooo cute and I love it.

It’s a great trend! It allows you the chance to put a splash of personality on a dull outfit.

Everytime I see it I want to ask why it is that people are wearing it when Muslim men wore it people screamed and ran for the hills. The patterns are close. I’m not the only person who’s noticed it.

i have lived in europe most of life.

i live in europe now. that scarf has been around for a while, and now going out of style.

i still can’t believe it has taken american’s this long to catch up on the fashion. whenever i go to the united states, i see americans wearing what europeans wore 2 or 3 years ago. and are now all completely out of style.

how can you abuse scarves, its like saying jeans are so overdone. Are you talking about a particular style of scarf like the keffiyeh which was a potent political symbol appropriated by vicemag-reading uo & aa lovers; that has its own implications unrelated to fashion.

 Its sort of vaguely annoying when people pick apart a fairly benign habit that can be as classic and elegant as wearing a scarf. It further encourages americans to categorize themselves, & never dress creatively. If this was some sort of legitimate complaint about a real edgy trend appearing in global fashion, like drop-crotch pants or monkey fur, which happen to be current trends which I have my doubts on, then I would more understand. But seriously, encourage creativity, don’t hate.

like leggings and ugg boots, its something that everyone complains about but I find it to be a cute and functional way to stay warm walking around campus in a colder climate. I probably won’t wear it in a few months, but there’s a good chance I’ll pull it all out of storage for fall again.

First off, I’m not in a pathetic race for fashion, so I’m not a hipster and I have several of those from over the years when I bought my first one at goodwill several years ago! How come everything I wear turns out to get labeled as a “hipster” item??
