A friend of mine has the same problem, but she’s ridiculous with them. She’ll pour water on her bangs and shampoo them on the days she doesn’t plan to wash her hair.
I could do the same thing, too, but I’d rather not.
I eat healthy so it can’t be my diet, and I don’t put a lot of makeup on my forehead because my bangs are always touching my face. But even when I didn’t have bangs, my hair got greasy fairly quickly. I could never wait more than a day or two to wash my hair because it would look horrid.
I don’t know what to do. I use quality shampoo, and sometimes I’ll just condition my hair instead of shampooing it because I heard it’s healthier. Maybe it’s just the way my hair is, but I don’t know. Help?
What can I do so my hair doesn’t get greasy quickly?
guest
Shave your head. =P
guest
For me, it’s all about the conditioner. I use Garnier Fructis and it works really well. I think the anti-frizz one works the best.
I use cheap shampoo (Suave or something) and then let the conditioner sit in for a few minutes. I just shave my legs while the conditioner is in my hair.
guest
Do you play with your hair? I’ve found out that if you run your hands through your hair it can get pretty greasy.
That’s my problem anyway. I hope you find better answers!
guest
^^ agreed with radiantlytenebrous
And it also might be the conditioner/shampoo you use. My hair was getting greasy easily and it was because I was over conditioning my hair. I know it may sound silly but I found that was the problem. Now I shampoo my hair with garnier Sleek and Shine and use a leave in conditioner and comb it out. It works well with my hair seeing as it used to get greasy easily very often.
guest
STOP TOUCHING IT! when you run your hand through your hair it spreads the grease from your scalp though your whole head….notice how the roots get greasy frist…WELL THATS WHY! now how do i know this cause this used to be me. but then i started to notice how on the days my hair was up all day and i wasnt touching it and i could not wash it for the next day AND i could wear it down and run my hands through it and by the end of that day i would still be ok.
oh and use shampoo! shampoo is like soap for hair and conditioner is like lotion. just think if you were too not use soap when you wash your hands and then go put on lotion….EW your hands are gunna feel gross!
hope i helped

I do the same thing to my bangs as your friend haha. My bangs tend to look greasy after a day because they sit against my forehead, which gets oily over the course of the day. I was always told not to wash my hair every day though, because it strips the scalp of natural oils. I just wash my hair every other day and it holds up ok. Some say to use baby powder on your hair to soak up the oil and it’ll look as if you just washed it. Never tried that, though! Haha.

Try a dry shampoo or try Organix shampoo – I’ve needed to wash my hair less with it.
guest
Sometimes its the heat and water. I just moved back home and where I was living the water was chlorinated so that dries up your hair. Now I’m back in my own city, where we have natural clean water my hair gets greasy quicker. And yeah, i agree with the others… Don’t run your hands through it
guest
Always use* shampoo* you can skip the conditioner !!!!
Trust me on this one – my mom makes shampoos – so I know
Shampoo is to wash* your hair, which can tend to be drying* cause you’re just cleansing it
This is where conditioner* comes in* — to add back the extra* oil to soften the hair and gives it nice shine and glow
But if you have oily hair* – dont use conditioner * cause your hair reproduces oil on its own* — this is also why you dont wash your hair EVERY DAY
CONDITIONER ARE FOR DAMAGE* FRIED + DRIED HAIR
guest
try changing your shampoo. creamy, opaque shampoos are more moisturizing i think… try a clarifying shampoo.

I use Head and Shoulders shampoo about once or twice a week instead of my regular shampoo and I can safely wash my hair every other day (sometimes even every 3 days) before it will get really greasy. But that’s me. I try not to play with my hair much and I rarely use conditioner (which when you do just use it for the ENDS of your hair. Do NOT use it all over cause then your hair will be greasy).
And yes, the kind of shampoo can do it as well. Pantene, I found out a few years ago, will leave the back of my head greasy at the crown; again, that’s just me, but you could try another product.
guest
i have the same problem, i use two shampoo. my eveyday shampoo and head and shoulders once a week to keep my scalp from drying out. I only shampoo my scalp. i use conditioner too but only on the ends. it’s inevitable if you continually touch you hair like i do. plus taking a shower everyday isn’t so bad, men do it all the time. =)
guest
Dry shampoo.
It’s a life saver, really.
guest
My hair also gets greasy really fast, but because it’s so long, the ends get dried out if I wash it too often. I too noticed that touching my hair adds to the grease at an alarming rate. I usually rotate shampoos as to avoid build-up.
It’s amazing how big a role stress can play in this oily hair problem. When I’m not taking classes or working, I can go at least 3 days without washing my hair, but during a busy week, it’s an entirely different story.
I agree with Color_me_Karma, when I use a conditioner, I don’t let it get anywhere near my roots or scalp. Le_chat_noir is right about the creamy shampoos, a good clear shampoo (I personally find Pantene Ice Shine shampoo to work well, or Suave) will do a much better job of getting your hair clean, and consequently keeping grease away longer.
Good luck! ^.^
guest
skip conditioner, or if you have to use it, put it only on the ends of your hair. i used to have this prolblem too but then my friend told me that conditioner makes your hair more greasy =p
hope this helps! ^^
guest
stay away from drug store brands like panteen because even though tv makes them look great [remember thats their job] it leaves wax residue which builds up leaving a greasy shine after time. its worth it to splurge on a nice shampoo and conditioner.
guest
i dont know if this is legit… but someone told me that you can put baby powder on your fingers evenly.. and then run them through your hair a bit, and it dries up the oil..
it SOUNDS legit.. but then again you could end up looking like youre greying =_=
guest
good tips … I control my greasy hair
skip conditioner [ use only once/twice a week ]
wash hair less … it takes a while but the grease will be less over time
and if your bangs are the problem ..
get a oil absorbing sheet for you forehead !!!
guest
I’ve used baby powder on my bangs before because I have the same problem, and if you put it on and make sure to brush it in really well it works wonders
guest
Either you need shampoo for oily hair, or you need something less concentrated for that purpose. If you use shampoo for oily hair when you really don’t have naturally oily hair, you’re kind of stimulating the glands to secrete even more oil.
guest
When you apply conditioner only put it on the tips of your hair
My hair gets greasy sooo damn fast! it’s so annoying
I use dry shampoo a lot and if i run out I use baby powder
guest
For a while, during the summer, my hair would get greasy really fast, but in the winter it was okay. (I figured because the air was dry during winter). Anyway, during the summer, I would only occasionally condition the top of my hair. Just don’t condition too close to the scalp.
=)
Hope you find something that works.

it seems like conditioner makes greasy hair worse.
try only conditioning your hair once a week, and if you condition to keep snarls out, try a detangling spray instead?
cherry blossom / 48 posts
OH! also, when you wash your hair, don’t use HOT water, because it stimulates the oil glands. use warm water and then rinse with cool water for shine.
guest
Try Ojon dry shampoo. It’s like a spray, ~$20.
guest
I used to wash my hair everyday too because I had the same problem. I use herbal essences’ “drama queen” and it helps a lot! I don’t condition anymore because my hair is short, but when I did condition Id just condition the bottom layer of my hair and no where on my scalp! u should try my method it really does help.
Good luck

Go to a salon, and ask them to recommened a professional shampoo and conditioner. I work at a salon, and greasy hair is one of the easiest things to remedy.
guest
@Shock_Every0ne@xanga - Yes, baby powder! That’s what I use when I am not washing my hair for a day, because I also have a problem with greasy bangs. It works great for me.
guest
Go light with the conditioner.
Don’t use hot water to wash your hair.
And don’t blowdry your hair from complete wet to complete dry.
These 3 should make your hair less greasy.
At least it works for me.

I have oily hair and thin hair.
I want to have bang, but cannot coz oily T zone + oily hair = acne
……….>_<……….
I have to wash my hair everyday, or else I rather not getting out of the house.
I use conditioner on my hair end. I cannot not use conditioner, coz it will be very hard to brush. When I brush my hair, I avoid brush touch or near the head skin, coz it will pull the oil down.
I cannot use herbal essence, I’ve tried and have allergy (itchy hands)
sunflower / 308 posts
I have oily hair too. This is what I do: wash every other day, switch to a different shampoo once a while, don’t use conditioner with shampoo every time, and comb hair with hair brush often.
guest
i think you should just wash it every day. since your hair gets greasy really fast, your hair should have enough protective oil.
guest
i have the same problem and i hate it.
this might sound bizarre, but if you put two to four DROPS of dish detergent into your conditioner, it cuts down the grease and it will helo your hair not get so greasy. i did that and it really did work. but then again, you dont want to do that everyday since dish detergent is for DISHES, not hair.
hope that helps. or just use dry shampoo (:
guest
Put baby powder on your scalp, then comb through. It should absorb the oil.
orchid / 145 posts
don’t just use conditioner. if your hair is oily, use shampoo on the scalp and conditioner on the ends while you’re showering. this way your hair won’t be damaged from being exposed to too much shampoo yet the scalp will remain fresh and clean.
guest
Use an organic shampoo and conditioner.
I use one which is made purely from plant extracts and have found that my hair doesn’t get too greasy too quickly. I used to have to wash my hair everyday, but it’s ok now and i can wash it every other day.
Also, when using conditioner, don’t rub the conditioner into your scalp, just concentrate on the rest, especially the ends.
guest
I think it comes down to finding the right shampoo. If it’s too stripping, your oil glands will go into high gear and make your hair even oilier. If it doesn’t clean very well, your hair will still look greasy. I think my best advice would be to experiment with some different shampoos (preferably natural ones, as they are less likely to strip your hair) until you find something that works.
You could also try the “no shampoo method” (Google it for more information). Some people swear by it, and some find that it doesn’t work that well (I’m in the second group). The main problem with this method is that there can be an “adjustment period” where your hair can look pretty nasty. Your oil glands are supposed to eventually calm down, allowing you to get away with washing your hair less often. That’s the theory, anyway.

Some people just have oily hair. I usually only wash my hair 2-3 times a week, and I do like your friend and wash my bangs on days I don’t wash my hair (but only if I’m going out that day). Use a clarifying shampoo (rather than a moisturizing or shampoo+conditioner), and only apply conditioner to the ends of your hair.
guest
@serendipity3m@xanga - oh, the baby powder definitely works.. haha however you have to kind of blend it in cause your hair looks white, and its only a quick fix really.. I wouldn’t try to sport it all day!!
guest
@niez_cho@xanga - don’t wash it with hot water? why not? I’ve never heard that one before, and I need help too =P
also, I agree with the blowdry thing.. if you let it dry naturally for a little before blowdrying (and don’t touch it while you’re blowdrying!) it really helps!!
guest
i have the same problem. use a CLARIFYING shampoo, meaning a transparent shampoo, one that is clear. not a creamy, opaque one. also, shampoos with green tea are good at controlling oil. conditioner is good only if apply it at the ends. use lukewarm water to wash your hair because hot water makes your oils glands act up. and also, washing your hair every day really isn’t that bad, just so long as you aren’t using hot water or hot styling tools all the time.
to the girl who said about the baby powder, that actually works. get a new makeup brush and use it only for your hair to apply baby powder at the roots.
also, don’t apply too much sytling product in your hair. that just makes it worse. which leads to washing your hair brushes… if you do use product, then you’ll have to wash your hair brushes once in a while. and one more thing! with hair brushes, use one made of boar’s hair. when you brush with them, they spread the oils from the roots down the hair shaft, so your natural oils are evenly spread out. brushes with plastic bristles don’t do that.
and i’m not sure if it works for everyone, but i recently cut off 9 inches of hair and my hair seems to not get as greasy anymore. maybe you might consider a haircut too?
guest
i heard about the baby powder trick too!
i have the same problem
so i’m reading your answers looking for help too! haha
guest
conditioner is just moisturizer for your hair basically. say if you have dry skin, when you put lotion on, its basically oils that your skin lacks. for your hair its basically the same thing. i only put conditioner at the tips. sometimes there are certain shampoos for oily hairs. i rarely come by them
hydrangea / 86 posts
heres what i did.
buy a thing of baking soda. get a spoon, spoon about one or two spoonfuls of baking soda either in a cup or in your hand and mix it with a bit of shampoo, like the normal amount you would use to wash your hair. then just put it in your hair and wash it out like normal shampoo. it helped my hair a ton.
guest
if you put baby powder and rub it into your scalp, its less greasy. it absorbs the grease…you can do it the second morning and it works wonders! (just make sure you don’t clump it or forget to rub it in.) it works best if you can somehow blow it onto your hair (i would have my roommate do it in college)

Google is a lifesaver. Haha. I’ve been having that same problem. My hair is healthy I use quality shampoo and the only time I ever do anything bad to my hair is when I’m trying to put it up into a pony tail. Unlike you I have very thick hair. I’d tell you how to fix your situation they way I did, but since I have a different type of hair than you maybe it would be best that you just read the website and see what would fit your hair best. (:

good tips, im like that too! i thought it was heredity or something. I have to wash my hair everyday and it sucks cuz i know its bad for the hair.
guest
Someone may have said this, but I’ve read that mayonnaise works. The oils in it absorb the oils in your hair, so that your hair is less greasy.
Just scoop mayonnaise out, & rub or comb it through your hair until your whole head is damp. It’s probably best to put a cap on or something to hold the moisture in afterwards. Leave it on for 20 minutes then rinse the mayo out with cold water.
I’ve heard that it makes your hair significantly less greasy, but I myself would never try it because I have an irrational fear of mayo.

Did you know that the worse pollution gets, the worse our body conditions get too?
My hair is also doing the same thing. =(
guest
I have a similar problem and I find that it helps if I only condition the ends of my hair. I also wash my hair every day with Herbal Essences Drama Clean.
guest
Ugh, I have the same problem. I have to wash my hair every single day, even in winter, and I have to shampoo every other day. It’s ridiculous, but my hair refuses to be dry.
guest
I have the same problem… I often force myself to go two days without washing my hair for the sake of not having scraggly ends. (This is why I normally have my hair in a ponytail, bun, or back in a headband every two days. lol)
I have never used a dry shampoo, but I’ve heard they are wonderful. Dusting your hair with baby powder (then brushing, of course) does help to dry out some of your hair’s natural oils.
While this is such an annoying problem right now, just think: one day, you’ll be an older lady with beautiful body in her hair, while others your age will have dull, broken, or even frizzy ends!
guest
First and foremost, make sure that you’re only conditioning the bottom 3-4 inches of your hair. Your scalp is where all of the oil on your head is produced, so there’s no need to add any extra moisture there. If you’re already doing that, try skipping on the conditioner and only using it every other time you wash your hair. Or, another tip I’ve heard is to condition your hair and then wash it.
Unfortunately, oily hair and skin is just another blessing that comes with youth. You’ll be wanting it back when you’re sixty.
guest
try a tea tree based shampoo. it will dry up some of the unwatned oils in your hair. i used it before it works good. you can get it pretty much anyway for like 4 bucks or even less. or you can just condition the tips of your hair unincluding your bangs! that seemed to work a lot for me
( i have that problem as weel) but another thing you really need to take into consideration is that you should be changing your shampoo and conditioner once a month, your hair will get used to the shampoo and conditioner that your using and will pretty much stop doing its job
hope all works out well
guest
I have very thin hair and surprisingly enough only have to wash it thrice a week. How I accomplished this? I went camping for two weeks and just let my hair grease up. It was disgusting I just kept it pinned back the entire time. When you wash your hair alot you wash out all the oil, thus your body overcompensates by making tons more. It works really well and if you have the time to do I highly suggest you do. Also make sure you use a very light conditioner and never put it on the roots, it’s made specifically for the ends.
guest
the baby powder thing really works. i do it sometimes when i don’t shower.haha. just put a light sprinkle on your roots and rub it in. if you can still see white put a little bit of water on and rub it in. and don’t touch it so much. i play with my hair a lot. haha i need to stop. but baby powder works:]
guest
ok, ur shampoos fine, and u shouldn’t wash your hair everyday. i would pull my hair up when it gets too bad and pin my bangs. since you’re so pretty, it’ll work for you. just do this for a while til your hair gets used to it and it’ll produce less greace.
it could also be stress issues. do some evaluating and see if you have anything u need to take care of. when i get stressed my hair falls out and gets greasy fast too.
hoipe i helped
guest
if it’s a recent problem you’re having, it’s the weather. i just went to see my hairstylist yesterday and even she has this problem right now. the weather is kind of harsh, and it’s a protection meganism to get greasy.
you shouldn’t wash your hair more often, 3 times a week is max. because if you wash it more often, your hair is just gonna produce more grease, it will adjust. and you don’t want it to do that. then, because i can imagine it looks bad, you can use some babypowder or anything of that kind, which is used for baby’s red/raw buttocks and stuff, or maybe even some facial powder, and brush this trough your hair. it takes up the grease to make it look okay; this way you can postpone washing it for a day. goodluck.
guest
its kind of weird but you can get unscented baby powder and just put in your hair or bangs in this case for a few minutes/seconds and then just brush it out
it works really well
also a little more expensive- the dry shampoo from dulce_amor
but some of that can smell very weird
guest
I have the same problem and had it since i turned 13 approximately (6 years ago?) and i used to wash it everyday in the morning and hair dry it, then straighten it. Lately I’ve decided to lessen the damage on my hair and washed it the night before and let it dry overnight, and noticed that my hair didn’t get greasy as fast as it did before. Sometime whenever I’m lazy or don’t have time, I do what your friend does – I wash my bangs and tie the rest of my hair back. The clean bangs constantly add a fresh clean finish to your face and the rest of the hair in the ponytail you don’t have tow worry about unless you go like that for days and days..
guest
use baby powder! it sucks up the oil from your hair. (:
guest
Like someone else said, rinse with cold water. It helps to shut down the pores on your scalp.
Definitely do not skimp on the quality shampoos and conditioners, store brands have a lot of alcohol in them which causes your hair to dry out, then your scalp goes into overdrive trying to moisturize again.
One plus to having oily hair now is as you age, your hair will not be as brittle and dry.
Do you blow dry? Blow drying will also rev up the pores causing them to produce more oil, try taking a little extra time to let it air dry, or dry with cool air instead of hot.
guest
I found that my hair got really greasy, really quickly also. My hair dresser actually suggested for me to use a “Volumnizing” shampoo and no conditioner, but if I did condition only once every 3 days or so. I also get highlights and it helps “dry” out my hair. Its manageable now however if I don’t was my hair on the 2nd day it is a bit greasy, but not noticeable.
If you dont want to wash your hair every day use some baby powder. Alright I knocked this idea at first seeing that I normally have dark hair. It is not only for blondes because if you have enough need for it the oils in the dark hair will take chare of the white powerder in no time.
These tips helped me, good luck. (Ohh and blow drying slighty dampened hair helps as well, no conditioner)
guest
i wash my hair everyday, what’s wrong with that
guest
Well if you condition your scalp, then you’re a dumbass because that’s obviously your problem.
Other than that- if you’re white, it’s normal. White people generally have oily hair. Apparently from what I’ve read (not people’s opinions, but actual medical articles), it’s a myth that washing it more will cause it to be less oily. If you’re hair is dirty/greasy, then wash it. I know it makes life hard, but ya gotta do it. My hair is thin AND greasy, so I wash it daily with no complaint (well, not TOO much complaint).
guest
Do you straighten or curl your hair? Whenever I straighten my hair it brings the oils to the surface because the hair gets so hot. It will look good that day, but the next day it needs washing, bad. That’s what usually does it for me. And use a light conditioner, Herbal Essence has a light green bottle that smells super good. Think it’s called Drama Clean or something like that. And the length of your hair matters too. My hair has gotten longer over the last few months so it seems more greesy because there is so much more of it.
guest
I have the same problem. I do not have thin hair, but I have really fine hair. I assume that a humid climate is one of the factors. I’ve recently moved to a drier climate and i’m not as oil slicky on day 2.
guest
Don’t touch your hair alot, and also, don’t touch your face alot. Also, I as a rule, wash my hair maybe every other day, as in, use shampoo – but I still do condition my hair every day. When you shampoo, only massage the shampoo into your roots, when you rinse, it will trickle through your hair – with teh conditioner, try the opposit, massage it into the tips and body of your hair, not the roots. I also learned, your skin goes through about a 7 year cycle, where every 7 years its pH sort of changes, and you have to adapt for that – if yoru skin is contributing to the greasiness (i.e. grease from it transfers to your hair) switch to a skin care regimine created for oily skin. Also, switch up the type of shampoo/condition you use – I’ve heard you should change it about ever 6-8 months to “shock” your hair – which is a good thing, it doesn’t get “used” to the make-up of htat shampoo (which can in the long run, make yoru hair oily/greasy or make it frizzy/dry). Since I’ve started doing those things, I’ve foudn my hair doesn’t get that oily/greasy problem nearly as much. When it does, I switch my hair products and it seems to help.
guest
My hair is exactly the same, and I’m getting bangs next week so thanks for the fill in on what I’ll suffer lol.
Use a dry, spray shampoo every other day. You spray them in, rub in, then brush out after a couple of seconds. It’s like using baby powder but more effective, and baby powder only works on blondes anyway or you look like you have grey hair. Your hair won’t be perfect, but it won’t create as much grease as washing it every day will.
You’ve got it backwards with the not shampooing and only conditioning thing though; wash it but don’t condition it every time. When you do use conditioner only use it on the tips, never the roots or scalp. Also, I switch my shampoo and conditioner every two bottles so that my hair doesn’t get used to it because that makes it greasier more quickly. That would be my best tip.
Brush your hair as little as possible.
Hope this helps!

@x_Passing4sane_x@xanga - Lol an irrational fear of mayo? Poor you. My friend has a fear of pickled onions, hold a jar in the same room as him and he runs screaming.

Well…. I have thin hair and produce a lot of oil. haha. It’s all hereditary. Everyone’s different. My hair looks so nasty the 2nd day, I have to wash mine every day as well. For those who don’t have to wash their hair every day, maybe it’s because they need to produce that oil…. but we already accomplished that. hah. IIII dunno.
guest
Try not to touch your hair! Our hands are dirty. I know a friend with really greasy hair (it practically looks wet) and she runs her fingers through her hair A LOT. Even after eating and not washing her hands.
Or maybe your skin just has a lot of oil. I notice my hair gets a bit greasy after I sweat.

if you sub shampoo with JUST conditioner, it’ll only help the greasiness. should just use both or even only shampoo every once in awhile. concentrate it on the greasier areas.
guest
@Iamgettingby@xanga - Indeed. If someone wanted to rob me all they’d have to do is hold me at mayo-point.
guest
@x_Passing4sane_x@xanga - Oh dear, you should keep that information under wraps, the mayo-fiends would finally have their day!

You could just have greasy hair. I have really thick hair yet it gets greasy quickly. I keep it up all the time and don’t touch it. I’ve tried all the suggestions people hear made and without conditioner my hair would get all frizzy. I ended up talking to a professional and sadly they told me it was just the make up of my hair and that some people have to shampoo more often then others. Everyone is different. So just take some time and see what works and what doesn’t work for you hair. Most rules are for the public in general and not everyone is going to fit into the mold. So if you have to wash it everyday wash it everyday. Just make sure to use a deep conditioner to help keep it from getting run down.

The best way to get rid of oily hair is to use oil-free conditioner.
peony / 1 posts
i had the same problem. I just stopped conditioning my bangs in the shower. shampoo takes some of the natural oils out of hair, and conditioner is used to put those oils back in. without the natural oils in your bangs, they wont get greasy. and don’t worry, they don’t get really dry. your bangs will barely get greasy all day. also, make sure to wash your face (especially your forehead) every day.
peony / 1 posts
i beg to differ, i’ve seen a documentary once saying that if you don’t use conditioner you can make the greasy problem worse. In fact conditioning your hair gives it the natural oils it needs that gets lost from all types of stresses to your hair, like shampooing it to frequently which strips these oils away. If you don’t condition it you are tricking your hair in to producing more oil to make up for the oils lost. So in fact it just depends on what type of products you use and if it works for your hair and if your always exposing your hair to fequent stress. Trys use light products without all the damaging chemicals =) hope this helps you.

Ive noticed that i wash my hair nearly everyother day :/
But then i switched shampoo’s … And my hair lasts at least another day or too … Switch to anyother shampoo and it works.. I think if you use the same shampoo regulaly your hair gets use to it so it dosent clean your hair..
Change shampoo’s and you will notice the change xx

Only condition your hair once a week, and don’t apply the conditioner to main roots on your scalp. If you condition anymore you will over condition your hair, and as your hair has natural conditioner in it. Well this will be why it gets greasy quick. Try shampooing your hair twice when you wash it, it cleans it better. Learnt this all at work experience (Hairdressers). This advice worked for me, I hope It could help you too.

thicker hair is suppose to get greasy faster, trust me. what i do is buy aussie and use a quarter size amount of shampoo rinse it out for a few minutes and the use a dime size of the conditioner. leave conditioner in for 5 minutes then rinse thouroughly and when using the conditioner don’t use in the bang area or close to the scalp because that is where the oil produces. then towel dry it afterwards. It’s worked for everyone that has tried it and try not using products on your hair after a shower like gel or hairspray, because it only ruins it.

If you have oily hair, try highlighting it.
Highlighting your hair can actually make it more porous— a fancy way of saying it makes your hair absorb more oil.

Okay I stopped washing my hair every day about two weeks ago and I only wash it every 3 – 4 days. I use CORN STARCH, however, I only put corn starch at the parting of my hair and then a few minutes later I wipe it off with a damp cloth. works great however after about 3-4 days its so greasy that corn starch makes it look worst so then I either comb corn starch al through my hair really thickly and rinse it off with cold water when i’m in the shower or I wash my hair. Been working pretty great so far =)

Do you straten your hair ? If you use a conditioner with alot of wax i guess you can call it in it and then straten it, it will get greasy looking cus the wax and the heat on the stratener. And make sure that you use good shampoo, nothing cheap because thats the most important part. If you get shampoo thats cheap it wont wash out good and then the conditioner wont properly get into your hair. I hope that helped

hey
i have the same problem as you. A few tips:-dont condition all your hair.you only need to condition mid length and ends.in other words grab all hair and pull into a side pony tail-condtion all that hair.
-try dry shampoo.-dont touch your hair to much-combing your hair spreads oil..(opinional if you want to comb your hair,i just slightly finger my hair when its wet to get rid of knots-you need to be careful as wet hair is fragile) thats all i can think of at the moment. anyway good luck!
