I am a help nut. I’m in endless charities, organizations and foundations and spread the word pretty frequently. The first thing I notice that sells fast for organizations are their t-shirts. Some are even going to great lengths to make them look cute and more like something a person would wear out instead of just to bed or the gym.
Let’s take a look at some of them, shall we?

To Write Love On Her Arms
This is probably the most popular one among teenagers. The charity that spreads awareness on self-abusing behavior is promoted by many bands and is a favorite among Hot Topic and the Warped Tour.
When you buy one, not only are you looking super cute but you’re helping out to great organizations!
Do you think clothing is a good way to promote organizations? Do you have any of these or have heard of them? Do you wear any charitable t-shirts/accessories?
This charity was founded by three film-makers, which means there is also a movie directly linked to this charity that helps children and issues in Uganda. This (unisex) shirt was designed for them by a student at Virginia Tech University.
ONE Campaign
This is just one of the many clever t-shirts put out by one of the biggest organizations out there right now. Profits from the store will go towards ONE, which focuses on poverty and finding a cure for HIV/AIDS.
RED Campaign

Chances are, you’ve seen these around as well. GAP is known for carrying a brand of t-shirts from this charity that gives money to the Global Fund. It also focuses on HIV/AIDS in Africa.
World Wildlife Fund (WWF)

You can get this panda in all sizes and the shirts in all colors, but either way; you can’t deny how cute it is! This fund goes to helping the wildlife across the world and preserving the animals.
When you buy one, not only are you looking super cute but you’re helping out to great organizations!

I have a WWF shirt. There are some people at my school who are really into Invisible Children and have some of their shirts.

I have a WWF shirt & a TWLOHA shirt. I think they’re a good at promoting, because some people I know have never heard of TWLOHA until they saw people wearing TWOLHA shirts.

yes I think clothing is a good way to promote charities. Sometimes, you get trends such as the livestrong bracelet, which can be a good or bad thing. good because the word is getting around, but bad because sometimes these people don’t even understand the meaning behind the bracelet, they just wear it because its trendy. its generally good though

I think it’s a great idea. There’s also the OBEY Hope charity shirts that are pretty popular.

I have heard of all the organizations, and seen many others wearing the shirts. It is good advertisement. Shirts are good advertisement for anything. I do not have any of these “cause” shirts. I have considered getting some political-themed shirts recently. I actually don’t but too many themed shirts….besides a sweet Beatles shirt i got at forever 21

I have many different TWLOHA shirts. It’s an organization that hits very close to home. I’m also very involved in all the other ones you mentioned.
Who says clothing can’t stand for something

I adore campaign t-shirts/accesories. It’s something for you and it let’s people know you’re doing your bit, and all the money goes to chairty. It’s also a great way to get people interested in charities and campaigns, without bothering them while they’re out and about as I know some people get all annoyed about that.
Great post!

i donate money, but rarely buy clothing to help out.

I don’t really dig walking around looking like a billboard with a buncha’ names and brands and this and that written all over me, buttttt it’s definitely a way to get it out there. It appeals to a lotttt of people.

This is a great post!
I have both a TWLOHA t-shirt and hoodie, and I have also presented speeches at school and in speech for the organization.
It’s something I really believe in, and I think these t-shirts are an easy way to help out those who need it! :]

I don’t really like the idea of T-shirt, for one, it’s hard to get me to support them… however, it seems to work well in all the schools I’ve been to!… in the U.S.

does anyone know how i can order TWLOHA t-shirts and get them shipped to Canada? thanks!

Yep, I think they’re a great way to promote organizations. People seem to ignore such causes and it’s time that everyone knows about it.

To Write Love On Her Arms is my favorite charity. I have 3 shirts, one of which is the Casey Calvert (from Hawthorne Heights) memorial shirt.
