I was stunned to know that there are so many famous celebrities who went under the knife. Try to Google it: famous and infamous celebs are all listed. I have included several. Most of them went for nose jobs, breast implants or lip injections (but I don’t consider lip injection as surgery; it’s just injection).
Ashlee Simpson Courtney Love
Halle Berry Jessica Simpson
Jennifer Garner Sharon Osbourne
Raymond Lam Fong (Hong Kong and China Celebrity)
It’s amazing how particular these people are about their looks. I wonder how they are able to live with their artificial body parts when they are already so gorgeous. Or I could say, how do they live in their ‘plastic’ life? Is this the new trend for true physical beauty? I agree they did enhance their looks, looking much more fabulous, but it is also somehow fake.
I do agree on plastic surgeries for people who were born disfigured or were in an accident. These people just want to look normal and go back to their life.
Plastic surgery doesn’t mean that it will make you look beautiful. Sometimes bad situations do happen. Look at Michael Jackson and Jocelyn Wildenstein; are they happy with their ‘plastic’ faces?
Michael Jackson Jocelyn Wildenstein
I admit that I have a big fat nose. I thought of getting a nose job, but to think of it, there must be a reason for me to be born this way.
Which stars do you think got plastic surgery; which did not? Would you ever consider plastic surgery? What’s your opinion on it?

guest
hahah it amuses me how you put a picture of a chinese celebrity.. you might as well put all those korean stars up on there. pretty much ALL korean stars have gotten surgery except like a very few amount.
and most of those celebrities up there don’t really look any different.. i dont see why they would get surgery. they were born the way they were and God created them that way. i agree about the people who are abnormally different though.
guest
every single one of those people looked better before plastic surgery.
if you change how you naturally are, you look unbalanced. and the things that actually are beautiful about you will be taken away because people will feel like you bought your looks, and will overlook the beautiful things that are still natural.

the last 2 is just plain disgusting. personally, i have never considered plastic surgery. there are a lot of things that i can improve to myself, but i try working on it sans any surgery.
i do admit, some of them (celebrities) look better after plastic surgery. but still, naturally beauty win hands down. they dont look so bad before it either.

I dont mind plastic surgery if you have a birth defect, extreme obesity or you have an accident or something but for the heck of it? It’s gone too far. I completely ignore those reality shows that publicize it & poison the well. We all have flaws & things we want to change. I used to be really heavy & considered surgery but I did lifestyle change first & it made a huge difference & I’m happy. Plus I feel better mentally & physically & I feel proud I did it without help.
I know it wont work that way for everyone but I think everyone should explore options before costly surgery. I dont think many people think it’s major but it is! You have painkillers, recovery time & like other surgeries, there are risks.

@PenaltyLife@xanga - You’re totally right. Plus sometimes those quick fixes fall apart. I knew someone who had lipo & gained the weight back. When you gain after lipo it’s very hard, if not impossible to lose the weight again.

I think I’ll feel weird with plastic surgery. It wouldn’t be me but I’m sure if I got it done, it would eventually grow on me. But there’s always a chance it won’t come out right and you’ll have to shell out more money for another risk. I am considering breast reduction though since I have a small frame..
guest
I disagree with it except in cases of disfigurement or for those who were in an accident….because God gave us the bodies that He did for a reason and I don’t think its our job to “upgrade” them. I have a few friends that have gotten thier boobs done and I can’t look at them the same anymore. I hate that they have become so concerned over how big their boobs are to get plastic implanted in their bodies!
hydrangea / 93 posts
@PenaltyLife@xanga - I totally agree… but Sharon Osbourne was looking a bit rough before the surgery. Nothing a little bit of wax and foundation couldn’t fix though.
guest
I once had a dream about this. I went to a “store” where I could pick myself, you could say. The clerk made me taller, thinner and dyed my hair blonde, and I went on a date with my ex, and he said he hated me because he wanted a girl with blonde hair, and I said, but I have blonde hair, and he said “no, you don’t.” Perhaps this is another reason that celebs have horrible love lifes, aside from their obnoxious attitudes (you think they’d match though). However, I leave them be for two reasons. One, they fund carwreck victims’ treatments to go back to their families, and they destroy themselves with false marks of status, which is more entertaining than their crappy attempts at publicity. Including standing next to starving children… but again with the carwreck thing.

wow pamela anderson pre-huge boobs! she was really pretty!
some of them didnt need it at all.
avril??!?!
i had no idea.

Celebrities are constantly in the spotlight so no wonder many have gotten plastic surgery. it’s understandable to have so much money to spare and spend it their nose, breasts, or lipo. As for i, i would never get plastic surgery. I agree 100% on how you wrote that there must be a reason for us to be born the way we are. my imperfections are what makes me me. it would be boring to look “perfect” anyway
guest
i’d feel like i was lying to people about what i look like if i ever got plastic surgery. I can understand why celebrities feel the need to get plastic surgery though, especially if everyone criticizes you for a certain body part. I feel for the ones who’s self-esteem got so low that they had to resort to that instead of having the mentality of, “i look beautiful no matter what anyone says.” It’s sad, really
i DO agree with getting plastic surgery after a disfiguring accident though. That’s a no-brainer.
guest
honestly, i’d probably get a boob lift and liposuction on my love handles (then donate the fat to my 90lb brother). plastic, though? i think i’d rather just grow old gracefully.
guest
the whole plastic surgery thing is really situational.
guest
Honestly… I’m dying to do my nose.
There’s a chance that I broke it when I was a child (I hit my nose against a metal bar in preschool; it bled for hours and hurt so much)…which would definitely explain how I randomely got a hump on the bridge of my nose.
But it’s pretty obvious that’s my subconcious way of justifying it. I’m terrified. I’m planning on doing it in about 3 years. I’m just scared that something will go wrong, and that my nose will end up even uglier than it is now.
guest
I think it depends on the person. Almost every person could be improved by SOME sort of plastic surgery (even if it’s just laser hair removal). But most people who actually have it done, go too far.
Above:
Ashlee’s nose looks better AFTER the surgery
Courtney looked much better BEFORE.
Halle looks better AFTER.
Jessica looks like a freak now! She looked better BEFORE.
Kate looked better BEFORE.
Pam looked better BEFORE.
Jennifer looks the SAME.
Sharon looks better AFTER.
Fergie looked better BEFORE.
Avril looks the SAME.
Raymond looks the SAME.
Michael and Jocelyn just look like freaks. I’m so sad that they did that to themselves.
Personally, I wouldn’t fix much about myself. If I had all the money in the world, I would get a nose job, laser hair removal, and the brazilian butt lift.
guest
I look at myself in the mirror and sometimes dislike my features. But, I’m too cowardice to go under the knife. Natural beauty overcomes being a plastic surgery victim in my eyes. After all, isn’t beauty in the eye of the beholder? Your flaw could be what makes you beautiful and unique.
magnolia / 1369 posts
ew . some of those pictures are just gross however, i would get a tummy tuck when i was older after i had children . and i’m not going to diss it because who knows . i don’t think that anyone looks at themselves and says “wow, i’m perfect” there’s flaws but some of those flaws are gorgeous but some of them are a real hinderence and i understand if someone gets something done to make themselves not only look better but also feel better
guest
eeek… well, I thought of going under the knife for a fuller chest. But… I reconsidered.
guest
They are all ugly as hell, period.

In a guys opinion, el natural. Simple enough.. No pun intended.

Natural beauty… Always.

Natural Beauty all the way. It’s much more admirable when you show that you are comfortable in your own skin. And it’s much more awesome to flaunt whatcha momma gave ya XD

I don’t think that plastic surgery is only for the ones with a deformity. If you’re unhappy and the only way you’ll feel better about yourself is by getting that small bump on your nose to go away, go for it, who am I to judge.
I have been thinking, after kids, if I’m really unhappy about my breasts and want to feel young and/or back to the way I was, I may get them to look nice again, but not bigger.
guest
The only surgery that I have ever thought of (an have been recommened to get, by quite a few of my friends, haha!) was a breast reduction…because I always assumed it would give me back problems later in life..*awkwardly looks down at breasts
But I think that natural beauty wins in that epic battle of prosthetic vs. pretty x)
guest
I have C cup breasts…perfect for my body…but i would get them reduced to pre-pubescent because of past sexual issues. I HATE the attention they draw….my ass is so called “perfect” i hate it..it makes me feel dirty..i know its not my fault but i would have my boobs removed almost completely and my ass sucked flat. Only my b/f who deeply respects me has priveledges to admire me in such a way. But when people look at me it forces such a hatred and pain inside me that i have tried to kill myself. THAT is the only reason i would go under the knife. Or as some other girls said for REAL health issues. I don’t want sexual attention, at least not from people who see that as my greatest and most significant attribute. That’s why i have an eating disorder. I want to be neuter. My boyfriend changed me, but i can’t take the looks….
guest
it’s your body & your money, so do what you want with it. especially in the entertainment industry, plastic surgery is kind of a prerequisite for success… unless you were lucky enough to be born to near aesthetic perfection, which not everyone is… therefore, plastic surgery FTW!
guest
I was shocked when raymond lam and avril went under a knife T-T
guest
personally, i’m probably going to get plastic surgery when i get older, like some eye stuff and nose stuff but…i technically need nose surgery for health reasons anyway LOL
guest
I’m not surprised, or wouldn’t be of the fact that most female celebrities have lip enhancement of some kind these days. The fact is that most blonde-haired, blue-eyed white girls do not have big plump lips. I don’t think the rest is a big deal. It’s their jobs to look good, or at least their reputations are at stake.
I plan to have a nose job+chin implant sometime in the next few years when I have the money for it. If it makes you happy then do it. That’s what I say. It will look good to some people and bad to others. Just like how you dido now…
Either way, I have to say that I think Pam was fucking gorgeous when she was younger without surgery… now she just looks like a mutant whore. But I’ve nothing against her. Those boobs just look like they hurt…
guest
@xAnaxBleedsxForxMex@xanga - I hate to break it to you, but men are going to be attracted and give attention to you no matter what you look like. It just may be for different reasons.
It’s better to be wanted for your feminine body (ie: t&a), from reasonably normal (for the most part) guys, who are attracted to normal, fertile, feminine parts, than to get attention for a prepubescent body… which may be attracting creepier guys (and trust me, you’ll get attention still. You can’t escape it).
Think about it.
Also, I wish you luck with your eating disorder. I hope you learn to accept your body’s right to take up space in this world.

people may bash plastic surgery (especially americans) but a lot of korean girls look absurdly better after they get their face done. BoA* and lee hyori for example. i mean, they were hot before but they’re even hotter now. i lost respect for them but whatever, you can’t deny their looks.
it’s so common in asia- particularly in korea and japan- that i think over 65% of the female population has gotten plastic surgery (specifically the double eye-lid surgery) done.
i’ve never done plastic surgery, and i don’t support or oppose it. i think most women who bash it though, would do it if they are nearly as loaded as all these stars who are turning into Barbie dolls. stop the idealistic bullshit and face the facts: most women are insecure and unsatisfied with the way they look.
guest
i think sharon osbourne was the only one who benefitted from the surgery. everyone else didnt need it.
if i have money when its time for gravity to take its toll on my body i think the only thing ill get done is a breast lift. maaaaybe augmentation. but definitely a lift.
guest
ohlordie !
the last two are gonna give me nightmares !
i never look at people the same way if they get plastic surgery . I assume everythign pretty about them will be fake .
guest
I say that I would never have plastic surgery, but that’s because right now i’m happy with the way I look. Who’s to say that after a few kids, or when I’m older, I’ll change my mind?
Anyhow…I think with celebs, they feel the pressure to look better than they already do. so sometimes they forget that they already look good. it’s quite sad. but it’s an industry…for them, anyhow.
guest
DID ANYONE ELSE THINK THAT THE 2ND PICTURE OF ASHLEE SIMPSON WAS DREW BARRYMORE?
guest
i think they look better before the surgery..
guest
plastic surgery? even botox? never. it’s so fake. you always end up looking like an emotionless idiot.
guest
Natural beauty of course!
guest
@XAngelExpress31X@xanga - I love Ashlee Simpson! Dont know why but the after picture doesn’t look like her now…
Am I the only one who realised Kate Moss looks worse in her after picture? LOL, I think plastic surgery is okay if you are absolutely certain you want it and will not regret in the days to come, and if it helps you to live with yourself. Just.. not too drastic till you can’t tell how you look like initially.
guest
i think its kind of drawing lines in the sand to say its wrong to get plastic surgery cause you ought to be happy with what you were born with… but okay to get it if you were born ‘disfigured’. i guess then where do you draw the line for disfigured? cleft lip? uneven eyes? how about single eyelids in general? flat as a boy’s chest? lopsided boobs, one a C the other an A? butt chin? horrible nose (or like jenn anniston and make up bullshit “medical” reasons for your nose job?). how ugly do you get to be before its disfigurement and thus “justified”??
if you’re going to say its wrong to mess wit what cho momma gave you, you kinda gotta go all the way.
i personally don’t care either way, although i wish they’d have to announce it. looking at absolutely GORGEOUS k-pop stars i’d feel a HELLUVA less bad about myself if they had to disclaim what they had done. thinking that all these gorgeous people were naturally like that makes ME feel disfigured…
also, i’m kind of sad that halle berry, beyonce, all the beautiful ‘black’ women [although halle is half and beyonce is pretty much lighter than ME and i'm asian] have been celebrated for having white features, and have actually CHANGED themselves in order to do so. beyonce gets blonder and her hair straighter… halle’s nose gets narrower… etc :[ same with asians and their double eyelids… i think some attention needs to be paid now to plastic surgery and its correspondence with racist concepts of beauty.
guest
Coming from a Hongkonger who has watched numerous HK drama series with Raymond Lam in them, I don’t think his appearance has ever changed. You should have been misled that he has ever done plastic surgery.
guest
Plastic surgery for useless reasons… Can someone say…..ew?! I didn’t know most of these stars had work done…and now I want to throw up everytime I look at them. Just be happy with what you have!
If you don’t like yourself and get everything fixed up, you’re deceiving yourself and anyone else who might be attracted to your new plastic self.
Excuse me, another gush of barf needs to leave my body.

why do nose jobs always end up looking so weird and unnatural? Ashley Tisdale’s freaks me out. I’m not really a fan of Ashlee Simpson’s either to be quite honest.

I have always thought that plastic surgery was going overboard. I say natural beauty all the way. I know it sounds cliche, but we’re all born the way we are and we are beautiful. Everyone is beautiful. If we were meant to have plastic surgery and alter our appearances like that, then we would have been born already modified.
guest
i didnt know raymond lam had plastic surgery! but i agree that some celebrities actually looked better before they didnt anything with their face/body. and that picture of michael jackson just scared me.
guest
when i was a teenager i use to pray every night i would some how grow boobs, because i never really developed and still to this day i havent. and while a teenager i thought when i was “older” i would consider getting a boob job, now that ive grown up a little bit and im now 21, i am totally against it. Mostly because i feel that God created me this way in his image, and in His eyes this is how he wanted me to look, so it would be a slap in God’s face to say sorry you didnt make me as beautiful as you could so im going to get plastic surgery done. Plus. When i was a teenager I was a little insecure of my self and over the years ive overcome that, so i dont feel the need to become part of the plastic world.
guest
Jessica Simpson and Ashlee Simpson both looked better in their before pictures IMO..
The only kind of plastic surgery I would consider getting is having my breasts reduced, because I hate them. But I do consider the way I look to be something of a pride to my parents, and I wouldn’t even consider dyeing my hair because it would just seem to me like I’m showing the world I’m not proud of my parents. But as for the breasts, they’re just unnecessarily large…
guest
Natural beauty, will always win in my eyes.
guest
I think plastic surgery is okay if it’s to change something you’ve always been unhappy about. Like a member of my family who had breast augmentation, for example. She’d always been really small on top, and she never felt very feminine because of it. After having four children, the little bit of “boobage” she had before becoming a mother had been deflated, stretched out, and reduced to nothing. She had hers done over 25 years ago, by a surgeon who (fortunately!) was very progressive and using saline implants when most surgeons were still using silicone. She’s also never regretted the decision, even though she did have some complications not long after the procedure (which were treated, and no other complications ensued). In fact, when I told her that a roommate of mine was considering the same procedure, she said “Tell her I said to go for it!” And what’s funny is, this family member is about the least superficial person you’d ever want to meet. She just felt bad all her life because she felt she was out of proportion, and once she had the surgery, the problem was solved.
All that said, I hate to see people going for procedure after procedure after procedure, ad nauseum. It just gets to be to damned much after a while. I’ll admit that I’ve tinkered with the idea of one day–ten or fifteen years from now, maybe?–getting my brows lifted or a mid-face lift as a way of “freshening up” my looks, but the day I elect to have my fifth full face-lift when my ears are already threatening to meet at the back of my head, I hope someone has me committed!

@xsPoNgEs_go_SQUISHx13@xanga - just a personal opinion, sweetie.
guest
Well it’s pretty obvious to me that Fergie got breast implants. The last time I saw her, she didn’t seem to have much on top, but that Nov 2008 photo above paints a much different picture. As for my opinion on it, I figure people can do what they want to do and they’re the ones that have to live with it. There are times when people look better afterwards, and then there are times that it’s worse. Boobs in particular are a strange case because although it may look better for some women to get their breasts enhanced, they just don’t feel the same (in a man’s hands) afterwards.
guest
if i became really extremly overweight i would get plastic surgery. if i got into an accident also….other than that no i wouldnt. i have small breasts, but i’m a small person so it fits me and if a guy thinks they’re too small then i guess they don’t deserve me. i see no other thing that would “need” improvement on my body so surgery would just be a big fat waste of money. plus i don’t want to look fake.
guest
Which stars do you think got plastic surgery; which did not? Would you ever consider plastic surgery? What’s your opinion on it?
*I don’t think of who got plastic surgery other than the ones they say did or the ones that publicly say they’ve done it.
*Yes I have considered plastic surgery. I would get my butt done, my nose(change the ball at end), and later in life get that vaginal rejuvenation. (But they use a needle for that I think, so that’s not plastic surgery to me)
*Some people look aestheticly (sp?) better with changes & others look horrible. Oh yeah I HATE when my fellow European American women get their lips injected. It looks soooooo frickening unnatural. I mean I’d like my top lip to match my bottom, but I don’t think it’d look right.
guest
Huh, I didn’t think a girl like Avril Lavigne would care about her boob size.
guest
..And ‘after’ Ashlee looks kind of like Catherine Zeta Jones, for some reason…
guest
As one who has had cosmetic surgery for a birth defect (cleft lip if you really want to know), this particular subject can be difficult to discuss with people who’ve never experienced it and already have negative thoughts. It’s all the same, whether you were born disfigured or became that way through some sort of accident or just want it because you’re not happy with something; essentially most of the time you can live the way you are, but you wouldn’t want to because it’s not ‘normal’. It’s all about asthetics and achieving normality no matter what the situation (just the title is changed so insurance will actually cover it).
I will be going in for a procedure soon (though not on my face because that has been finished for a couple years now, I like it the way it is). To be honest, the entire thing is extremely personal and it’s a shame some people allow their feathers to get ruffled over the fact that others are willing to surgically change how they look. You know what? So long as you have the money and realistic ideas about the outcome, you’re a perfect candidate for pretty much any procedure you can think of. It’s nice that some people aren’t judging too harshly, but to those who do, you have no idea why these people chose these procedures (and I speak for celebrities and your average Jane/Joe). It is an entirely personal decision. (Though I admit, surgically changing/enhancing yourself to try and become famous is pretty ridiculous). Just be sure that if you do ever decide to go under the knife you do your RESEARCH. And I mean hardcore: know the procedure, different ways of performing it, healing process, risks involved, etc and be absolutely positively sure your doctor is board certified and well experienced. It is poor client education and uncertified doctors where you see many of those plastic surgery horror stories come alive, though you take a risk in any surgery no matter what so keep that in mind as well.

errr.. i thought plastic surgery would do a prefect job. somehow, from the pic above.. LOL.. natural beauty rules.
guest
Halle Berry & Jennifer Garner look EXACTLY the same as before, you can just see that they’ve aged, so I doubt they had surgery.
They do look gorgeous with age though.
Kate Moss looks the same, too, just aged, and with heavy eye makeup.
Pam Anderson was so gorgeous before the stupid things she did to her face. She looks completely different.
Ashlee Simpson had a really cute unique nose, I wish she’d just left it alone, but Courtney Love really needed to fix hers, and it definately looks better. now.
We all know Sharon Osborne had tonnes done, but hers is the good kind- I think she looks terrific.
guest
yeah i don’t like hollywood’s obsession over plastic surgery

three cheers for natural beauty! if there’s one thing I find repulsive it’s girls my age and younger dipping their face in cake batter, er, makeup and looking like a clown.
and plastic surgery- I hate when people get plastic surgery just because they feel they don’t fit in the beauty mold society has set for them. geez, be happy with yourself.
I will never get plastic surgery or alter my body in any way because someone makes me feel ugly. I will die a wrinkled, pruney, grey-haired old lady. and you know what? I’ll feel beautiful!

Cosmetic surgery is the alteration or modification of the body or face
by surgery strictly to improve or change the appearance of the
structure. Examples are breast augmentation, face lift, tummy tuck,
Rhinoplasty or nose reshaping, liposuction, blepharoplasty for home based business
Reconstructive plastic surgery is the modification of the body or face
to restore function. Examples are skin grafting after burns, hand
surgery, repair of broken bones, breast reconstruction after mastectomy
for breast cancer.
The key word is function, however all reconstructive surgery techniques
take into account the appearance as well as the function of any body or
facial structure that is being restored.
