I am 20 years old and I cannot let go of a sweater that I’ve had since 5th grade. I don’t know how it’s managed to fit me 10 years later or even why it’s still part of my wardrobe, but I have no plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.
I’ll admit that it feels a little weird walking around the house with a sweater that says “Burr Intermediate School” on the front and everyone’s names in my 5th grade class on the back. But what can I say? It’s so warm, it fits, and it makes me feel like I’m back in fifth grade (yes, I’m a very nostalgic person).
Is there an item of clothing that you’ve kept since you were a child and can’t seem to let go of it?

I’m still pretty much a child (18), but I do have things that I’ve had since I was younger.
I have a belt I’ve had since 7th grade and it still fits, and some other things

I’m definitely sitting here right now in a jacket I got in the 6th grade.
It was huge on me then. Now it’s too short, too loose around the waist, and too tight at the bust. But I still get compliments on it all the time, so maybe it’s not all bad?

I have a blue tye dye t-shirt I got when I was eight. 11 years later, I still have it. The bottom hem is completely unraveled, it’s all faded with some bleach spots, and a few tiny holes… and it’s a bit snug. But I still have it!

I have a zip-up sweater that I have consistently worn since sixth grade. Maybe fifth.

I still have my 7th grade volleyball sweatshirt. It feels more loose than it did 7 years ago.

I have a few t-shirts and this GAP sweater from 9th grade. It’s hard to let go of those things when they have memory swen into them.

I think so….but I don’t remember where I put them XD
I know they are somewhere in my house, I didn’t throw them out.

well, nothing fits except for a hat I’ve had for about 6 or 7 years and still wear it almost daily, as I have for the last 6 or 7 years. I joke and say it resembles my innocence as I got it before ever dating or anything related to girls, but really I just don’t have a hat that fits better

the only thing I have is a dress my mom saved from when I was a baby. I also have the blanket she brought me home in. I got rid of all that nostalgic crap a while ago.

I’m the one who still have tons of oldie but comfy shirts and shorts LOL how can I resist to not wear it?!

I have this denim jacket I bought in… third grade? Maybe? It was sooo big at the time. Ten years later, I still wear it. The denim is almost white, the elbows are in shreds, and it looks messy, but I love it.

i’ve just lost a scarf that i’ve had for over 10 years, and i’m deeply saddened. =(
it was a simple brown/blue checkered wool scarf.
it’s not like i don’t like the 10 or so other scarves i have, it’s just that the ones you’ve had for a long time has this sentimental value that nothing can replace.

I still have a sweater my mom got me for Christmas when I was a freshman in high school–20 years ago! And miraculously, it’s still in great shape, and it still fits! I also have a flannel nightgown that she made me for my 11th birthday, and that still fits, too, but I don’t wear it very often.
I guess that’s one of the things about being a short gal…you hit your maximum height early and can hang onto stuff like, f o r e v e r, LOL.

I still have my 2nd grade t-shirt. My teacher let us use t-shirt markers to color in the apple in the front of our shirt. And the back has the Manhattan skyline, including the WTC. It used to reach mid-thigh on me; but now, it fits perfectly. It has a lot of sentimental value to me.

A pair of jeans i’ve had for six years. They’re nothing special, but they fit just right. They’re worn threadbare in some spots, splattered with several different colors from several different incidences with paint, stained on the legs perminantly from football and tree climbing as a kid, and patched literally EVERYWHERE.
Also, a pair of sneakers i’ve had four years. (my feet stopped growing at size seven)
They’re in the same condition as the jeans, minus the patches. But they fit, they’re warm, i like them. ^_^
I got both (separate times) at Goodwill for under five dollars each. I’d say i got my moneys worth.

I’m 19 now, and I still own a tee shirt I had in third grade – it displays a “Lunch Bunch,” three children eating lunch together (the girl’s hair ties are actally bows on the shirt! hah). Like you, I’m utterly surprised that it still fits 10 years later (it was not big on me then, and I was very thin), the only issue is that it now stops just past my navel. I’ll always keep it.

I have this Raggedy Ann dress from when I was two or three. No, it no longer fits me, but my mom loves it and it was her favorite outfit of mine so I am keeping it and will dress my little girl (if I have one) in it. I consider it an heirloom.
I don’t have anything old from gradeschool I still wear; I’ve gained over 60 pounds since then :/

A pair of jeans from five years ago. They still fit just right.

YES. absolutely. haha, i think i’ve held on to a couple things, but i have this old, old t-shirt with a huge Crayola crayon box on it. haha, it fits but it looks silly. i just keep it for nostalgia and because it’s so soft.

I have those hoodies
Cunningham 03″ – elementary grad
With everyone’s signature
I wear it to sleep in the winter

Yup, I’ve hold onto clothing items since I was a kid, and that I never wanted to get rid of!

I don’t have any clothing from my childhood (except for a couple baby dresses and a red wool coat from when i was like 7 or 8 that my mom wanted to keep but those don’t count), however my husband (who is now 25) has a gray pullover sweater that he’s had since about 8th or 9th grade that still fits him, even though he’s grown much taller and gained at least 40 pounds since then. We don’t understand it. It’s like a magical sweater or something. I’m sure it has sentimental value to him, and in a way it does for me too because when we were dating in college i borrowed it from him and had it at my place for a long time. When we got married I bought it to our new home and he wears it again and loves it.

My softball shirt from 3rd grade…it’s still too big from me. Also, this incredibly stylish mustard yellow shirt with 4 different breeds of cats on it. I wore it at least twice a week in 4th grade and can’t bring myself to get rid of it.
